Bruh I was trying to solve it from the thumbnail and didn't see white rook on h1 because of video duration blocking it, thought it was unsolvable Qa1 easy zugzwang now though

You say white to move. But G6 is highlighted indicating that most recent move was made by white. Which would make it black to move.

Where's the mate if black plays bishop e7?

Your last scenario seems flawed because he moves the pawn forward first.

He did not play Pe5 he played kf7 and wouldn’t move it! He never let my king near my pawn.

Many People in Comment section say ITS EASY , NO ITS NOT The very thought of putting the ROOK in sacrificing position is way beyond thought for any below 1600 rating You need a stroke of genius ( if you are lower rating ) OR Good chess playing experience to come up with this

I think @WonderMan-r1v (1st comment) has mentioned the right solution. But also, in my opinion, the solution presented in this video is not correct, said with all due respect. Let's say after white rook goes to h1, black rook goes to e3. 1- If white queen goes to h2, the king escapes to g5. 2- If white rook goes to h4, it is taken by black bishop. 3- If white bishop takes the rook in e3, black King simply takes the white bishop in e3. So I think, as@WonderMan-r1v said, the winning move is e4. Thanks to ChessFinalZero for so many good puzzles, I enjoy them a lot.

Took me 5 mins.... but solved it..

It took a while to figure out how to do it in two moves. Queen to e6, forcing King to a4; followed by Queen to a6, which protects the b5 square the white King doesn't attack as well as checking the black King.

1E4 or 1NxE8 stops 2BG5

I think 1) e4 works as well. If 1)...Re4 2) fe is mate. Ne2 mate is coming up and I don't see to STOP this.

Great problem, a few possibilities in addition that others have noted. I didn't see the wht rook move, freeing the Q to mate at H7.

It seems to me that if White first plays N c7 x R e8, Black has no way out of mate next turn, via either the White e2 pawn advance or a Queen advance on the 5th rank.

There are a LOT of variations in this puzzle! I found Rh1 but couldn't see the checkmate after a couple of possible Black moves. I thought it must be right because there was a mate in 2 for almost all possibilities. Once you showed the solution I realised what I missed!

Some additional options here. Rook e2 checking white its Knight e2 checkmate. Rook f5 its queen f5 checkmate. And Bishop takes Bishop on h7 its Knight d5 checkmate. Unless i am mistaken. update: I forgot one move rook e3. Think its Bishop h2 checkmate.

Looks to me like I lose my knight with that move.

The checkmate you showed 10 seconds into the video is not checkmate. Yes it is winning but it is not checkmate

4:29 So we as black we need to reach the position later as whites King do. Meaning by that we are trying to adjust this by moving to c8 instead. Moving between C8 and C7 we can react to whites King movement. What is the idea of white here? The secret is to do the same, i would assume on g5/h5.

I moved the King first and found that I let the Bishop out in this case. So the Knight has to go to f8 first. Then you can to move the white King to g7 and keep the black king away from your pawn.

That is not Knight or Horse, that is Unicorn...

Another solution is queen to e3 then depending if king goes to a2 or a4, queen will go to c1 or c5 and that is also a mate in 2

I believe if black does not push pawn to g2 but pushes king to c4 black will win
