This is what happens when home owners go with the lowest bid.
Skilled labor isn’t cheap....
Cheap labor isn’t skilled!
It's a cheap estimate,ha,ha, homeowners thought they found a sucker
this show is genius
People always learn the hard way:
1. THE LOWEST BID IS THE ONE YOU NEED TO AVOID.
2. ALWAYS CHECK FOR REFERENCES AND INSURANCE.
3. IF THERE IS A LANGUAGE BARRIER, KEEP LOOKING.
something tells me if they ever had a psychopath for a customer that was willing to castrate them if they didn't do the job right that they would speak english much more fluently....and if not well at least justice is served
Homeowners do this to themselves.
Ryan Listerman agreed
Some of them don’t know though and it’s their first time I don’t think they intentionally doing it to cause them problems
Lol. Come on fellow contractors. You know FULL well how a homeowner can draw out a project, ask for extras for free, dodge you for the final payment, invent non issues, etc, etc. Hell, the flipside of this could be a whole new show. Anyway he did say one thing I agree with. Bad contractors give a bad rap for the rest of us trying to make it by doing a job well done. Oh, and although there is definitely a human element involved, as there should be, the purpose of contracting is for the money.
***** Nice try but your most likely very wrong...
yep the customers are worse than contractors
mike branson sure you do buddy
Very true
Low bid is always a problem, numbers don't lie
I wish this world had more people like skip he truely sincerely cares with a big heart that dont take shit from anyone
He wouldn’t talk that way if there wasn’t a bunch of cameras and security out of frame as back up.
That dude looked intense.
I love catch a contractor
One look at that creep and I wouldn’t let me hold a door open for me
Probably the best show on spike.way better that tattoo show that tried make tattoo artist look like jerks. This show was awesome
get the cheap guy,Da
Every contractor i ever met including myself shoves a rag in the vent lol.. standard practice lol
one thing I don't understand about this show is that how did all these faulty works pass the local gov. inspection at the first place?
No one has a put a rag in a waste pipe while working on the bathroom before? I know I have.
I think we all need a ton more of information to judge what’s happening in this video . Sure what was said is wrong but there could be a shit ton more behind this . He kept saying she didn’t have money to pay for anything . He shouldn’t have done the work in the first place. For all we know she could have told him to just clean the cabinets and re install them . The water line coming out of the wall can just be capped . And I don’t know about the rest . I agree none of this is right but show more about The Who,e thing before we judge . Do homework on your contractor , I always offer copies of my insurance and business license and my federal tax I’d . As well as stamp all documents with our business stamp and also a contract with payment schedules, they should do a report of homeowners sticking contractors. I have seen and been in a situation where the homeowner never paid the final installment for work completed . And all I can do is put a bill in their mailbox once a week . Going to court costs money and time away from current jobs . There really isn’t anything protecting us from this . So in closing who knows the real story I’m looking for the actual whole vid of this and I’ll change my comment if I see it if I need to
The tone that he is taking against the alleged crooked contractor is actually a bit softer compared to the other folks. I wonder why, oh yea, because the Corolla assistant is nothing but a bully! What a wuss
Will someone please tell me why this show was cancelled? Is there a place to stream the existing episodes? Thank you. Appreciate it.
Prime Video
This is how they run their show! They need to make money exposing people! It's funny if people would really know how many type of customers you have to deal with and some would not pay at all !
She didnt have the money what I can do? Says it all.
We had a real dirty contractor try and scam my father. We had his bathroom redone and my father was elderly and the con artist contractor took advantage of him and was going to charge $20,000 for a complete redo of his main bathroom. I was not there to watch the work in progress , but when I came to check on the 2nd day, they installed the vinyl flooring crooked and it was already peeling off the walls, there was a huge chip in the new tub the size of a dime, the tub tile was installed crooked on certain sections. at the part where the floor was pealing, I pulled it back further and they did not even remove the old tile flooring, just glued the new flooring down over the old floor! They were supposed to remove the old tile floor and the dry rotted floor boards, but did not. The laborers did not speak a word of English. I suspected they were Mexican day laborers (probably illegal aliens since this is California)and were picked up at Home depot parking lot by the contractor because they were doing a piss poor job. My sister got involved and she put a hold on the down payment check and we confronted the contractor, who was Israeli. We threatened to sue. It got redone and we watched everything they did. The new crew spoke English and knew what they were doing. We got it redone the correct way. We also switched from vinyl flooring to good quality tile flooring, thanks to my sister. Women have better tastes than men.
newlam for $20,000 you should have redone your plumbing also :)
I dont know lady looks like she wasnt paying the guy. And he just didnt finish the job
Why didn't you put a cap on it? "well she didn't have the money"......um what's a cap cost, like $1.50??
At the end of the day Contractors provide a paid service ... everyone wants something for free. Maybe if the homeowner planned her finances she wouldn't be in that mess to begin with.
They should do a show on people who've killed their contractors! Do that shit to El Chapo's house and find your ass chopped up. No sympathy for these contractors. Eye 4 an eye!
Good contractors exist and bad contractors also. Like all business there are good and the bad. Make sure hire licensed and INSURED contractors, do your homework and take ypur time before making a hire.
At least he covered it up some contractors on new houses and everything are horrible ass fuck Homeowners go broke before they can move in because the plumbers take their damn time
Never pay up front
yumm
Thank You Adam, this is bullcrap. Yes, exactly these wannabe contractors are always ripping peeps off. Then the people don't trust good contractors
You pay cheap, you get what you get.
This one is wrong, the client didn't pay. End of work, period.
The tone that he taking against the alleged crooked contractor is actually a bit softer compared to the other folks. I wonder why, oh yea, because the Corolla assistant is nothing but a bully! What a wuss
A license doesn't mean your going to get a good job.Adam needs a good kick in the HUEVOS.Just get an experienced person who your friends or family knows well
these homeowners are a joke
OMG please tell me this crook is Brazilian. I’m having the worst nightmare with a Brazilian contractor

When Rochelle Kirk and Scott Waters of Covina, Calif., hired contractors from "Catch a Contractor," a Spike TV reality show, they hadn't bargained on getting 200 gallons of raw sewage with the package.
That's according to their lawsuit, filed this week in Superior Court in Los Angeles County. The show, the two claim, is liable for 200 gallons of raw sewage that spilled into their home. They are suing for more than $2.87 million in compensatory damages.
In April of 2013, Kirk and Waters say, they were approached by a casting employee of "Catch a Contractor," hosted by comedian and radio personality Adam Carolla. The employee told them "she was looking for families that have been abandoned by contractors and are currently living with construction nightmares," according to the couple's lawsuit.
Kirk and Waters said their bathroom was "abandoned and never properly completed" by contractors they hired in 2012, according to the lawsuit. So they decided to give the reality show contractors a try.
Ironically, the show's concept "was to help families who had been taken advantage of by incompetent contractors by coming in and completing the project the right way," the lawsuit states.
After they were approached by the casting employee, the couple soon met with producers who "promised that in exchange for allowing the production company full access to their story and the house, the show would employ experienced, licensed contractors and crew to fix all the mistakes of the incompetent contractor," the suit said, and the couple signed and returned a contract in May.
The couple doesn't name Carolla as a defendant but instead names as defendants Spike TV, its owner Viacom, and individual plaintiffs and contractors. They allege negligence and violation of civil codes, claiming some of the contractors weren't properly licensed to work on the home.
David Schwarz, a spokesman for Spike TV, declined to comment, citing the network's policy related to pending litigation. A spokeswoman for Emergency Restoration Services Inc., a contractor named in the lawsuit as a defendant, also declined to comment. The defendants have about 30 days to file a legal response after they are served with the lawsuits.
The contractors were given "such a short time frame to complete the remodel" the lawsuit claims, that one of the contractors told the couple after the job began he was worried they wouldn't be able to finish the work, the lawsuit states.
As sewer pipes were moved, one of the sewer pipes was left disconnected, allowing about 200 gallons of raw sewage to spill under the shower, into the walls and underneath the house, the lawsuit states.
The couple say they made "numerous complaints" to the show's producers and contractors "about the failure to complete the work and the horrific smell but they refused to respond or make any repairs," the lawsuit states.
By early June, the couple began experiencing "severe headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, and abnormal drowsiness," while assuming it was the flu, the lawsuit states, and the next month their children began having coughing attacks and skin rashes. While their children were diagnosed with respiratory infections and put on medication, a doctor suggested the couple test for mold. After detecting moisture in the home, they hired plumbers who found raw sewage after opening an area of the wall, the lawsuit states.
By August, the couple and their children moved out of the house and into a hotel during the repair and remediation of the mold, water intrusion and sewage spill, and they didn't return until early December when they were notified it was safe to move back in, the lawsuit states.

This nbn is why bbn I get pissed shitty carpenters and contractors taking my work
These two guys are con artists too.
So,once again a couple guys...i mean one guy and a"poser" The original"Holmes" show is the best....he doesn't use intimidation or sarcasm to pursuade the contractor to fix his work.I think buddy needs a tighter shirt to show off his guns a little better...his partner would make a better stand up comic than a contractor...inspite of what their doing their no better than the contractors"profiting from others demise" all it s simply the opposite side of the same coin ...
Meh she looks and sounds like a hold out...
Fake fake fake
A huge problem I have with this show is that these guys are EXTREMELY racist. They did an episode where they caught this Hispanic contractor who went by the name of Victor, or something.
And when the guy went back to ACTUALLY do and FINISH the work, they said the most racist slander to this guy(which caused him to leave). Like I know the contractor was wrong, but THAT TYPE OF RACIST BEHAVIOR WAS UNCALLED FOR.
I swear, these guys are borderline white supremacist by the way they insult these guys. This show is unacceptable as it is so far.
Stop with the sensitive bullshit. I'm Hispanic and its whiny bitches like you that give us a bad name. Stop blaming your shortcomings on BS.
You, especially because you are not Hispanic, have zero right to determine what is racist to other Hispanics so shut the F up.
+Steve Henderson Any proof? Or are you gonna keep pulling lies out of your ass?
+Steve Henderson my name is brandon and im half black. u just got rekt m8
If logic and reason doesn't work use racist. I see white guys be exposed just as latinos so if your a hack then you should interviewed. i think they are more than fair. Why did you do this kind of shit work? Why are you acting like you are licensed ? Either fix it, give back the money, or go to court... sounds fair to me. If you fixed it or gave back the money they probably would not show you. Plus you would have learned something.. like how to do it right..If you did it right the first time you wouldn't be on their show...assholes
