Parasite should win, but I wouldn't be upset at all if Marriage Story won.
This movie didn't just make me reconsider marriage, it made me reconsider the death of middle-class cinema in America. It's still possible to make a film for 18 million about people and have it be a sensation...in the 70s this was normal, today it's a rarity.

You are right. I recently learned that I entered into contracts that I never signed when I got married. I am female. Marriage used to be a 50/50 true to the number but now it's a formula and if one person decides they want to leave the marriage, the formula gets whipped out and someone gets screwed. The new norm is a Marital Contract. Better start educating they young.
Adam's crying scene made me cry
That fight scene made me incredibly uncomfortable. I had a strong feeling that I Did Not Belong There while that was going on.
I felt his pain but at the same time I felt his ignorance in that he didn't think of the consequences when he started having an affair.
If this movie doesn’t at least win best original screenplay I’m gonna be pissed

Los Cinemeros That’s what i believe as well. I love Tarantino and his script was great, but I prefer Marriage Story to win. Although Parasite and Knives Out are really good scripts and I’d be okay if either won. I personally prefer this movie though. 1917 was only nominated because it’s nominated for Best Picture (but still a good story).

This is a movie that deserves every bit of attention it gets. The people in this movie aren‘t characters, they are humans; And that‘s what makes it so great. Everybody is flawed, noone is the hero or the villain. It made me laugh, made me cry, made me feel something. I do hope that it wins an Oscar, certainly deserves it

Scarlett was just as amazing as Adam Driver and i am hoping they both win Oscars.
This movie is very relatable to those who are married and have kids. This is so rich in details, I wonder if the writer had similar issues in his life. Both Adam and Scarlet deserve an Oscar for what they did because I couldn't see their faces when watching but yes I could see their souls here.
I watched this movie for the first time a month ago and for the past month it is everything I can think about. Adam Driver was insanely good and he deserves so much.
Thanks Netfix and Noah Baumbach for bring out the beauty and intensity in the process of film making. Maybe it didn't win the best screenplay but it will be certainly remembered as a resource to understand so many aspects.

I love that low humming Nora does when Nicole says she does not want money. It's like she's saying two things at the same time : "ohh, that's so cute" and "well, we'll see about that".

The performances of the three lawyers were brilliant! Ray Liotta, Laura Dern and Alan Alda were great in this movie!
I actually thought Laura played well because she seems to have an underlying tone of snake-ness.
ikr! I was sceptical from the beginning with her; She's your best friend - as long as you pay her.
She's the nicest, most sympathetic human being - as long as you pay her.
She understands every word you say, every move you make - as long as you pay her.
That makes her character rather interesting as well, as we have no idea about her "true" character - about what's behind the snake-ness.
Anyway, I really loved the movie, everything about it =)
I really appreciated the moment with the babysitter. I could feel the underlying tension between what they were hoping to be and what they are about to be, underscored by her adulation of them as a couple.
i have to be honest I really liked most movies that are nominated for best original screenplay, especially parasite, but this movie deserved so many more awards, both for the directing and for the writing, and I just know that it will not get the justice it deserves
The kitchen scene is the best to me including the conversation between Cassie and Charlie. It is like the calm before the storm. so fun and breaking the heart as family.
As someone who has watched a similar situation unfold with someone I love deeply, this film is intimately accurate - I stress that seriously - INTIMATELY accurate. Every aspect of it. However, Charlie and Nicole’s story concludes far more peacefully than the one I’ve experienced, but I hope the film has touched people. I truly enjoyed the performances and the respect all of the actors gave to the story. It was also such a joy to see my favorite actor, Adam Driver, portray a role in this. I can’t praise it enough. Thank you, Noah. Thank you, Netflix. This film gives me just a little more insight... and a little more hope where I used to not have as much. Thank you. ❤️

2019 really is the best year for movies that you got once upon a time in hollywood, avengers endgame, the king, the irishman, joker, parasite, marriage story, It's really hard to choose which movie to pick because they are all amazing in their own way
and marriage story may not be for everyone but it is still one of the best movies for me

It's from Randy Newman, he made the soundtrack for marriage story and a lot of the pixar movies too including Monsters, that's why it sounds so familiar.

This movie was perfect.
I loved parasite, but to me, this film won best screenplay and best picture. Maybe out of personal bias to its connection with me, but I’ve watched this film so many times. Even inspired me to finish my screenplay finally. I will continue to study this picture as well as all the other ones made by Noah.
