    • @reggiekrager5411
      @reggiekrager5411 3 года назад +11

      Biggest irony is that it describes Ted and his mindset perfectly, he is ignorant and damn proud of it, he admits that he doesn't know much about Islamic religion or about the Middle East but neithertheless claims that Middle Eastern people are all crazy Voodoo people and Freedom hating monsters (despite admiting that he's never met an actual Muslim), and says that if he was the President he would have nuked Iraq and Afghanistan with all the people in them. He claims that he's not sure that moderate Muslims actually exist since he "doesn't see them anywhere", while again admiting that he's never met an actual Muslim in person. Literally all he would have had to do to see whether moderate Muslims exist or not would have been to just go to a Muslim community in the US and talk to some people down there, or do a quick research on the net about all the Muslim organizations that stand for freedom and human rights and against radicalism. But no, it's easier to be ignorant and bigoted, while calling for the literal obliteration of billions of innocent men, women and children, just because they come from the same country as people who have done evil things , so then they must be automatically all evil. And that's not the only instance were he thinks like that. He doesn't even make a minimal effort to even try to understand people who have different opinions from him, everyone who's even slightly to the left of the great and wise Ted, is automatically a "whiny sheltered sissy" or some other apelative like that. Says the great and brave Ted Nugent who shat his pants to escape the draft during Vietnam. And just to make it clear I wouldn't have had anything against him dodging the draft if he was at least honest in his beliefs and his convictions. But being all "America the Brave" and constantly supporting neocon warmongering foreign policy, while he himself wouldn't go to fight when it was his turn, just shows that he's a hypocrite and a chickenhawk who just acts tough. I do enjoy a big part of his music, but the guy's an asshole and you can't change my mind on it.

      @@reggiekrager5411 Sure your mind can be changed on it. The draft story is false and all he has said about Islam is that there is not a moderate version of an organization with a modis operandi that says you are to join it or be killed. Hell, there might be moderate Muslims even. I love Iman, Bowie's widow but she is not religious. Plus those who follow Islam that are not extremist are cute and fine I guess but they are not following what the Koran demands of them...unless someone is lying about their motives. I would love to hear how he thinks all of those people should be killed. I for one have never heard him say that or seen any documentation of it. There plenty of documentation to what and how people who follow Islam operate and live their lives and demand of others. I hope you can understand with so much manipulation of the mainstream media that it is near impossible to get accurate representation on just about anyone on about anything.

((back in the day in 99 i worked on cargo ships, we went all around the world to load soy to feed animals , it was the first time i understood the implications of the meat market.) for me you can eat whatever you want but as humans there must be a moment where we understand that certain industrial productions are unsustainable. i understand quite well what they are saying, it's just a biased argumentation, meat hunting is not the norm with which people get their meat, it's a trend. you are welcome to fact check me anytime.

      no further west my guess is that factory farming kills far more than a few small game animals that get into the fields but, if those fields weren't farmed on such massive scale, say a small community garden than the small game death would be minimized even more. If its in a green house you don't even have to worry about other animals eating your harvest.

      The real issue is that that side bases their argument on the idea that killing animals is immoral therefore, from their perspective, hunting and factory farms are the same. So there actually is value in emphasizing the fact that their arguments foundation, because you really can't discuss the any distinctions till that point is agreed upon.

    I respect people choosing to hunt and eat meat or whatever, but his theory that growing plants kills more is nonsense. Most crops are fed to livestock. The US could feed the whole world with the amount of crops we grow, yet we feed it to livestock to produce less food. And it's incredibly wasteful and polluting. Yes factory farming for both animals and crops is not good, but eating only the plants is certainly an improvement.

    Both Ted and Joe failed to make a single valid point in favor of hunting throughout this entire video. They set up a silly strawman where apparently the entire vegan position is about not causing any harm whatsoever, then knock it down with an appeal to futility fallacy. Veganism isn't about not causing any harm whatsoever to animals, it's about giving the lives of all sentient beings some degree of moral consideration.
    Every point arguement Ted made in favor of hunting animals could also be made in favor of hunting humans. Someone could use the same appeal to futility he made to argue that since we hit and kill people with cars on the road all the time, we may as well be okay with actively hunting them. It could even be argued that since humans cause the most environmental destruction of any animal, hunting them and reducing their numbers would actually be good for the environment. Everyone is able to see the inherent immorality of that idea, and yet somehow they find the exact same arguement compelling when it's about non human animals.
    Spraying pesticides on plants we *need* for survival is not at all morally analogous to going out and killing a deer just because you want deer jerky. No one in our society actually needs to hunt to have food, it's a luxury pastime for those wealthy enough to blow the time and money on it.

      D B what do the Unuits or the Saami have to do with the lifestyles of western societies? If the only source of calories you have to survive on is animals, that's one thing, but when you live in a society with ample supplies of cheap plant based nutrition, the only reason you have left to eat animal products is that you just want to. That being said, unethical practices should be discouraged wherever they are. The fact that that some people live in places where they need to kill and eat animals to survive isn't reason to view killing and eating animals as moral, it's reason not to live in those places to begin with.

    • @thcrmsnchn1056
      @thcrmsnchn1056 6 лет назад +9

      D B should any practice be acceptable as long as it's "traditional"? If a society has a tradition of human sacrifice, should we just be okay with that? Also, your claim that we owe animals nothing but a swift death could be claimed of humans as well. How can it be immoral to kill a human swiftly yet also moral to kill a cow swiftly? How can you be "giving them a good life" if that life ends in you needlessly killing them?
      Also, even if you're an omnivore, you should still be eating fruits and vegetables no matter where you live, so veganism wouldn't actually cause those kind of logostical problems, as they already exist. That aside, the amount of money that would be saved from stopping government subsidies to animal agriculture would likely be more than enough to subsidize cheap fruit shipments.

    • @thcrmsnchn1056
      @thcrmsnchn1056 6 лет назад +9

      D B lethal injections are not "swift" or painless, and even if they were, would it not cause you enormous suffering to know that you were about to be killed? When I was talking about the morality of killing, I meant in a scenario where death was not deserved. Obviously a cow can never "deserve" to be executed, so the question remains unanswered. Also, if you have access to fruits and vegetables where you live, good for you, my point didn't apply to you though.

ALOT of it goes to waste. In fact people eat Vegetables in addition to meat in most cases already anyway! We already have all the resources and farmland to sustain-ably convert to veganism. How about Vertical farming that harms absolutely nothing? Nugent doesn't really acknowledge anything that has been done in the past 30-40 years, He's stuck in the 1960's with his uppity 'alpha' attitude of brute force correctness. DId nugent acknowledge how much farmland is dedicated to grow crops for LIVESTOCK, NO! Alot of corn is harvested towards automobile fuel production on PLENTY of viable land for other crops. instead we use it for ethanol and syrups. The basic point he's making is accurate, but where it falls apart is when you ask the question of what animals who are slaughtered are fed? They're fed the same grain vegans eat accept they have to eat a lot more of it. Therefore everything he's saying about the small animals that are killed is multiplied by 10-20 times when your growing for animals about to be slaughtered as opposed to growing it for vegans who eat the grain directly. It's very very simple when you think about it. The arrogance combined with ignorance of these two is so priceless.

You don't have to be Einstein, however, to realise, that if what what "Isaac" Nugent says is correct, omnivores would still kill far more than vegans because they consume plants as well as meat. 1+1=2. Furthermore, their meat also consumes plants. 1+1+1=3. It's simply a stupid argument, and I don't know how anyone actually takes it seriously. I watched this because i like Joe's show and I listen to Ted once in awhile but they both struck on a topic that hurts me to watch it go on in my area. When Ted said the Farmer and ranchers slaughter everything to produce what they may produce, that hit home. My area i live in is constantly being stripped of its natural habit, draws, hedge rows and complete tracks of timber being dozed into piles. My opinion is that the farm subsidies, programs and breaks that are available have put the farmer on government welfare. This in turn (at least around me) is making millionaires out of farmers on our dime. I am on the family farm now, we dont farm anymore but when there was 2 families trying to live off 600 acres with out government subsidies, there was no money to have dirt work done. Now, a majority of farms have their own dozer and track hoe, regardless of a good or poor growing year, as soon as the crops are out the dozers are running.. I can't say that i am hard core environmentalist but having the vision to see that common sense is out the window when it comes to respecting natural habitat. I see what has happened to the deer population in my area, we have very very little quail and zero pheasant along with zero prairie chicken anymore. The pheasant, prairie chicken and quail were highly populated when i was growing up. Its just sad to watch.

    I've traveled through blue states that have nearly criminalized hunting; all the thousands of deer in the rest areas, woods and fields by late winter are nothing but skin and bones, millions starving with population collapse during harsh winters, but the animal rights freaks ignore these inconvenient truths. These massively overpopulated deer also wipe out millions of acres of woodland habitat for birds, butterflies, and small mammals, further crippling the environment and allowing invasive species to thrive and take over. The woodland environment is unnatural and sick without predators and since humans have wiped out the wolves and mountain lions guess who better pick up the slack.
