for those still wondering about the whistling story, thats how people will typically call out ducks using that VERY common whistle, its creepy af but it really is just some guy looking for ducks
I looked it up and indeed the duck whistle sounds very similar to the whistle in the video
So dude just saw some duck hunters
that makes a lot of sense. earlier in the story, he mentioned that his mom was startled at the whistling sound. she probably didn't want her son to hear gunshots from the people hunting and/or didn't want to be around the hunting grounds.
Another channel has talked about this same story and if I’m not mistaken when he describes his mom and him walking the dog he describes why his mom looked so scared right away. Apparently she had her own encounters with a whistling stalker as well in her teens
@@maynardj.keenan8957 it’s so scary, I mean no one whistles besides one man in the entire world. So, if you hear someone whistling it’s definitely only one person on earth that is doing it. And they are stalking you for sure. It’s not possible to be a different person doing it.
The woman who went over to check out the house needs to recharge her common sense. Seriously, SO MANY things were a red flag and she still went along with it and nearly went in the basement??? I would have noped right out of there just by reading the email and seeing that they wanted to meet at night.

So we have: Cheap price for the area, only one outside picture, getting there at 8pm, house looks unkept, few lights on, landlord greets instead of home owner, doesn't let her see rooms in full detail, no furniture, and tells her to go to the basement.
Thats 9 red flags right there.
Why is nobody talking about how insanely cinematic the whistling video looked... Fireworks in the background, blue lights lighting up the shoreline in the distance, red tinted sky being frequently lit up by red thunder accompanied by the eerie sound of whistling. We sure this isn't some film student who wanted to put his filmmaking skills to the test?
The Ted Bundy one is crazy. I know they had no way of knowing but imagine if they had stayed, if he didn't attack them they might have caught him much sooner.

That last story about Bundy, I've got one similar, though not quite as scary. I had a close friend in elementary school named Matthew Rappe. His father, Scott Rappe, was an architect. Scott told us one time at Matthew's birthday party a story that he was standing on the street corner outside a historic ice cream parlor here in Chicago called Margie's Candies, waiting for a bus. A car pulled up and a guy called out the window asking Scott if he needed a ride. He thanked the man but declined. About two weeks later he saw a news broadcast that John Wayne Gacy had been caught, and along with it was a photo of the same man who was in the car. Gacy had offered him a ride and he said no, having no idea who it was.

a similar thing happened to my grandfather! he was working (about 20-ish years old at the time) and he recalls a weird man came up to him randomly and offered him a job that would “pay him more,” and “treat him well.”my grandfather declined and thought it was sort of odd and a few years later gacy was caught very close to the area 🤷🏻♀️

I randomly whistle all the time. Imagine I row across the Missouri River minding my own business, I finally get to the other side and someone screams “who are you?!” From the dark. Yeah, I’m just turning right around

The whistling recorded on the phone is very close to the phone not far away at the kayak as it would sound very distant and different so is obv him or his partner very close to the phone doing the whistling

The Ted Bundy story... for the past at five or six years I've heard two or three different versions of the story. I've looked for the interview where Ted has spoken about it and I still haven't found it. Even if he did say that I'm starting to wonder if different people are posting this as if it was their parent's experience and changing it. I just want to know if anyone has a link to the interview.

Let's call it Ted Bullshit story. Nobody acts like this after stumbling upon "something soft" ... especially if it is as big as human body.
most likely people just looking for attention. or they think that just because their family told them the story, it must be true. just spent the last like 20 minutes scanning through a couple interviews (such as the one featured in this video) and haven't heard a single thing about that scenario. no comments about it, nothing.

Regarding the whistling, a simple 2-note whistle is a rather common thing for someone trying to make themselves known, so to me the coincidence of someone else randomly whistling 2 notes years later is far more logical than a whistling stalker tracking someone from MI to SD, only to get into a canoe and whistle near them. That's just a ridiculous theory.
The whistling one I've heard before but still fascinates me. There's no way it could be a different person whistling the same tune could it? Either way, it's incredibly terrifying to think this person could have been following him his entire life, and maybe still is.

I know what you mean.. I always get distracted and annoyed or frustrated when the narrator is talking fast and over dramatised or when he has a really annoying voice and annoying pronunciation or dialect like the RUclips Channel from "Chills". I just can't listen to him for more than a minute. He talks like: "Thiiiss waas very scarrrryyy and also pretty louuuuudd, so he started to run awaaaaayyyy until the next morniiiiiinng" - Jesus F. Christ, I this just drives me crazy!

My own personal theory about that story is that is just a huge coincidence. I use basically the same whistle to call my dog, so it can’t be that hard to find someone with a similar whistling style.
Moreover, the supposed whisperer would’ve waited 16 years just to scare the crap out of someone and then he turned his canoe as soon as OP’s callout? Doesn’t really seem like it.
Imagine seeing the canoe, having an encounter where the person leave and still being paranoid about such a unique sound as a whistle you’ve only heard three times sin your life in similar locations (near water) and STILL being paranoid over wondering if you’re just ignorant to something 💀

Many years ago in Dunedin New Zealand I answered an ad for a room to rent in a large 2 story historical house. My friend I was staying with drove me there and luckily waited outside - there were no cell phones in those days. The house was in total darkness as I walked to the front door and rang the bell. A man opened the door and stood there in the darkness asking me to come in but I refused and asked him why the lights were all off. He didn't answer but urged me to come in. I refused unless he turned the lights on.....I realized he wasn't going to and luckily he saw my friends car parked in front. I just turned around and walked to the car and we took off. The whole thing was creepy and I know I dodged something bad that night.
I live in Canada and there is a certain type of bird out here that does that sound, it gave me flashback of many days on the beach hearing that sound :)

I don't use Reddit, but I have a story of my own to share: when he was in high school, my dad was approached by John Wayne Gacy.
My great-grandma used to live in Norridge, just outside of Chicago, and her house was actually just a few houses over from where Gacy lived. Growing up, my dad and his brothers would always go visit her on Sundays; they would do the classic large-family tradition of going over for brunch, spending the day with her, and then heading back home after Sunday night dinner. A few times, they'd be over at her house when Gacy was hosting one of his huge summer parties, and they occasionally saw him leave his house in his Pogo the Clown getup. I'm not sure what they thought of him at the time - if they thought he was creepy or just a fairly normal dude.
But one morning, my dad, who was on the high school cross country team, went for a run through a nearby park and was approached by a man on a bike. It was Gacy. He angled his bike to block the path and told my dad he'd give him some beer if he went with Gacy back to his house. My dad declined the offer and started to move around him. Gacy pushed his bike forward to block him, more insistent this time, but thankfully my dad managed to run away and get back to his grandma's house safely. I'm not sure if he told his family about the experience afterward or if he just brushed it off. I don't know if Gacy had been eyeing my dad for a long time, considering that he often visited his grandma's house and was just down the road from Gacy's house, or if Gacy had just spotted him that morning and taken the opportunity where he found it. I do know that if my dad had taken him up on that offer, he would have been one of the twenty-something bodies that were buried in Gacy's crawl space.
On a related note, my uncle (one of my dad's younger brothers) had actually been inside Gacy's house once, when he was selling something as a fundraiser for Boy Scouts. Gacy never tried anything inappropriate with him, thankfully, but that did end up with my family joking that he must have just been a bit too young for Gacy's tastes.
Um you do realize Gacy liked boys right?? He was a pedophile. And some of those kids were dumb enough to go along with him, which is why they ended up raped and in his crawl space. 😱

John Wayne Gacy (the pedophile) Always had kids working for him and they were dumb enough to follow along cuz obviously they didn't know at the time, however you have kids who actually followed along with the sick crap that he did some of them wanted to go along with it because that's what they did, that's disgusting, it's disgraceful, that's why now they were in his crawl space because of their stupidity. So if you think about it unfortunately the kids also did it to themselves by tempting themselves and actually following with what he did. He offered them beer and marijuana and that's all it takes for a dumb kid. I'm glad when I was a child I was smart enough to stay away from creepy people and believe me I sensed it and I stayed away from people that scared the hell out of me because I know that they were after me when I was a child it's called common sense. If I can do it anybody can do it. I knew somebody that was too old and wanted me cuz they mentioned it to me online. I cut them straight off I blocked him on Facebook and I never talked to him since. They actually admitted to me that they were attracted to me and I was a child. But I had common sense unlike these kids nowadays and even back then they were dumb enough to follow along with it and now see where they ended up. Sad but true, I don't know what to tell you.

What's really ODD is I'm hearing whistling in my bedroom right now. It's very faint but it's there. I yelled over to my son in his room next to mine and asked him if he was whistling, he didn't hear me. A few minutes later he walked out of his room to go to the bathroom so I would've heard if he was whistling or not and he wasn't, but I'm still hearing it off and on. It's not a high pitched whistle but more of a low tone and there's no distinctive tune to it. It's just the same low tone. It's not a continuous sound either and it's not something caught in my fan. I've never heard this before. How weird that this story comes up while I'm having a similar experience.......oh and I live in Michigan too! Now that's what I call ODD.

I remember the story about the whistling I heard it a while ago from another channel! Super creepy. I like to imagine it was just an INSANE coincidence that different people were humming the same tune, and that there actually wasn't anybody stalking him all those years. I mean it's possible, but weird. Why would you stalk someone only to whistle when your around them and nothing else? Just really eerie.

My wife when she was 17 she worked at a mall and she kept seeing a man in his 50's with a cowboy hat on. The man was big man he seemed to be staring in the pet store she worked at from the window. She called Mall security they escorted the man off the property. Later she saw the man on a city bus she was riding on he seemed to be following her and again walking few blocks from her home. She went to a neighbors home and told the woman her husband looked out the window saw him said nothing could be done he hasn't broken any laws discouraged them from calling the police. This was the 1980's was no cell phones she was scared that when she walked to school or took the bus he would get her. She tried to stay in public around people all the time. She told her mother who blamed her said it was because her shirts were too tight. She was walking through the mall and the man was there again he reached and grabbed her by the arm she struggled and got away ran to a security guard they called police. The man started running away but the guards had radios and caught him. Turned out he had been convicted of rape of a minor just gotten out of prison was on parole he went back to prison she never saw him again. Later when her brother was doing work around the house he noticed footprints in the mud had dried large cowboy boot size right in front of my wifes window he had been peeping in the window at night of her home. They think he had been watching the home looking when her brother was not home her father and brother worked out of state were only home 2 weekends a month.

I live in northern Ohio. When I was little at my family’s old house my parents would hear similar whistling when they sat out on the porch at night. There was several paranormal experiences my mom has told me happened when we lived at that house. The house and the others around are very old and in a historic area of our town.
Everytime I hear that second story with the dude whistling it makes me think about how often I've heard that same whistle I think it's just a weird common whistle people do. It's like that ey-up noise there's a low deep start that turns high pitch. People do that all the time to get people's attention but it isn't that common had a neighbor do it for years to signify to his roommate that he was home. Since then I've noticed tons of people do that same noise. Or my friendly old neighbor is stalking me which would be sad since I miss em they could just say hello.

The whistling situation is very much symptomatic of what someone experiences going through early onset of schizophrenia. The age, 24 & his paranoia with relating a situation with others in his past is very common for a person beginning to go through the scary early phases of schizophrenia … if you’ve a loved one who experienced similar you will very much know what I’m talking about here. Potentially a very sad story but if as it seems I hope he ultimately found help
