Hey Scott! this is an excellent tutorial since I'm new to using the online sound board for my obs. One thing helpful thing to note ( since it's 2 years later that I'm seeing this,) is that when you look up Obs Websocket in the search bar , it will be hard to find the grey T. That is because the member who created the forum had changed their profile picture. so when you looking for the correct forum, make sure you add Tormy's name in the "By Member:" section of the search bar. Once you do that, it will be the first link that pops up. Cheers!

Ken, I can't get it to work I've been having trouble with my WIFI connection. I have four video ideas that are in limbo because of this issue.
@@ScottFichter Yikes! Must be maddening... I'm guessing it might be a router configuration issue. Maybe something to do with the router's security settings. Or maybe the router needs to allow the ports. Kinda like setting up a home Minecraft server.

@@ScottFichter I just tried it using my phone. It worked with zero configuration. Well, except for typing my laptop's wifi IP address into the app.
My phone happens to be in developer mode.
One thing does come to mind, remember when you first launched the LioranBoard app on your PC (I'm using a PC)? There was a request for the app to have access to the network. For me there were 2 boxes to select: internet & or local network. I selected both. If you are on a Mac, maybe there is something similar.
@@ScottFichter BTW I didn't use that Astro app that Lioran suggested on his video. I installed it, but the Astro app wanted permission to collect data. It wants to sell that data to stay in business. At least the may have been honest about why... 😎

@@ScottFichter Dude i got this all setup. i have OBS with Lioran board running on one PC and im controlling it from a Win tablet. I even went as far as to forward the port on my router and i had a friend controlling my OBS in PA from NYC just via the internet.

Great video, this tutorial cleared up alot for me that I couldn't figure out before watching other tutorials. Just wondering, is it possible to set up the stream deck buttons to work with a game controller?

@@ScottFichter I played with it myself to try to figure it out, turns out its pretty easy to do! Go to the Receiver, go to where you edit buttons and right-click one to see the Button ID at the bottom of the list. Go to Trigger Shortcut from the main Receiver menu, make a new one and select Gamepad under Type. Map Button 1 by clicking on the box and pressing controller button. To the right, type in the Button ID for the stream deck button you want it to activate, and done! It warns that it may not recognize newer controllers, but my PS4 controller works.

Thanks for all the helpful info! Will you be using LioranBoard 2? I'm also wondering if there's a way to have a single track just repeat. I tried just queuing the same track multiple times with delay but that only made the track seem to randomly play when I hit stop all sound (since the stop sound button didn't erase the delayed queued items.)

Simply setup the media source and make sure Loop, Restart when active and show nothing when play back ends is checked off in the properties area.

Hi Scott, I really love your tutorials. Is it possible in OBS to display 'voice to text' and 'voice to text translation other language' while I'm in live broadcast or zoom meeting.
That is an incredible question. Currently I've not dived into that capability but I'm putting it on my list.

Great find and you gave us instructions twice! Does Lioran board audio have to be set as a "Source?" I do not see Lioran in the Source or Audio Settings option. Is the sound picked up simply thru the desktop mic?
The sounds are sent via the desktop audio so as long as desktop audio is setup via settings you're good.

It's a video editor called Camtasia. It's great software.

Does this program allow you to update text files that OBS is reading? Either that or can you set up Macros to perform multiple functions at once?
I'm not 100% sure but based upon what I've seen it do I'm going to say probably yes.

Yea, I can't get the damn thing to work on my system due to some weird issue with wifi. My computer will work with wifi but not the tablet. Sorry for the bummer.
@@ScottFichter I actually had the same issue too! I couldn't seem to ping my pc from thr tablet i was using. Turned out I needed to allow the receiver app through my pc's firewall. Works like a charm now!!

Just checking this out and I have to say, the person no longer has a grey T as a user profile anymore, but a man with a light blue cap and some shades. My suggestion would be to look up 'obs websocket' along with the member name 'tormy' to find the exact resource page. I found myself getting caught up looking for that T.

I have set this up on my amazon fir HD 8" tablet.. I have got it to connect to obs but it will disconnect and reconnect every 10 seconds or so... and the screen on the tablet is solid green, no controls... any ideas? thanks JT
Wanderer, I've never been able to connect with my Droid tablet. I did wipe my PC with hopes of fixing the issue but I have yet to dig into it.
You need the receiver open and note the receiver port (usually 9423) is not the same as the obs websocket port (4444) and some people mistakenly change that. I'm using a fire HD 8.
And are you using the ip address of the computer running the receiver? You can't use localhost or 127.0.01 on the tablet. There's a bat file in the lioranboard folder that shows you local network ip, it'll show something like 127.168.0.127

Camtasia software. I will make a video for sure. Many ask me about it.

Hey Scott, I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I managed to install the plugins and the Tools bar lets me see the Websocket Settings, but when i try to connect Lioranboard with OBS, it gives me an error message that says:
Connection was established, but the reply did not send the expected Hash. Here is the reply, Continue anyway?[ -string of letters and numbers-
Server: WebSocket++/0.81
Upgrade: websocket
]
I have no idea what to do here unfortunately. This is the most recent update, 4.8. OBS has been updated all the way and my Twitch connects to Lioranboard just fine. Hopefully you or someone else can help. Thank you!
Ozzy, I have never come up with an issue like this. I Googled it and there's nothing. I suggest posing your question over at Lioranboards discussion page. He Scott, What happens to the Android version tutorial?
Computer would not allow me to pull it off. I reinstalled the entire operating system. I will try again. Think of me as a conduit. I'm a bottle neck. The pile of video ideas above the bottle neck is MASSIVE.
How do i move a media source (screaming sun) from corner to corner using lioranboard using channel points?

How do I get OBS to use Lioranboard as a source? Im going a quiz on Zoom and I have OBS connected correctly to Zoom and I can hear my audio sources there but when I play an audio clip on Lioranboard, Zoom cannot detect it and I assume because there is no audio input being added to OBS,
Aaron, the sound should automatically work. When you activate a sound FX from Lioranboard it is coming from the computer. OBS should by default allow these sounds to come in.
@@ScottFichter Apologise I should also mention I am using ASIO Link Pro. Not sure if you are aware of it or know how it can work with this issue.

No, SLOBS is good but it does not have the flexibility that OBS Studio has.

Im salty, I followed and the buttons i created did not show up on my stream deck. Im so sad..i really thought i was getting somewhere.
I have a button that when someone types a word in chat, it plays a sound and presses a key or combination on my keyboard. I have it set up and the sound plays but the key isn't pressed. Any tips?

Touch Portal is much more powerful and runs on IOS and Mac as well, tons of plugins and pages their community share.

@@ScottFichter Since I'm already using Touch Portal, I would like a comparison between running Lioranboard on a PC (both sender and receiver) and running Touch Portal on a PC by using NoxPlayer to also run the Android app. Is one more memory efficient or more reliable?
DisciplesNet Church. Here's one comparison for ya Lioranboard is unlimited and free ---- Touch portal you are limited to a grid of 4×2 (2×4) and you can create only one extra page extra to extend your buttons. If you want unlimited buttons then you will have to purchase the software for $12 bucks which realistically is very little money.
@@ScottFichter All good points. I've ponied up the $12 for Touch Portal and found it well worth it. Unlike some of the other limited software until you pay for it, an 8 button grid and one additional page is enough to figure out whether the program will meet your needs.
One thing I hadn't quite figured out with Lioranboard is whether it can do keyboard macros. I can't seem to find that functionality and it's important to me to have it.
Lioranboard has the built-in functionality to do math and the like. Touch Portal doesn't exactly, but you can use Power Shell scripts to do all kinds of things.
One other difference between the two is that Lioranboard has a native windows sender app where Touch Portal requires the use of NoxPlayer or some other Android emulation (with the associated overhead and upkeep).

Not enough info in this video to instal Lioranboard and get it working. Anyone with less experience than myself would probably not get it to work on their PC not to mention Android which you didn't bother to do. You missed a few important steps, kind of lazy video making. Thanks all the same as I got the name from your thumbnail.
