Wow! Thank you very much for your appreciation of my work. I watch a ton of DW content here on RUclips, including your beautiful reportages showing the different facets of car culture around the world, so this means a whole lot to me. Keep it up!
What a fine collection! These are most of the cars that filled the dreams of my pre-driving childhood and adolescence. All it needs to be complete is an Ascona and one of the mad, mad Mercedes 500SLC monsters. Excellent video. Excellent narration. Happy, happy, happy.
That's great to hear, thank you!!! I'm sure they'll add more cars in the future, but that will depend on whether the examples with the right provenance and pedigree will be available: these people only want the best, and I can fully understand them!
If I was putting together an exhibition of rally cars for the same period, this would be it. And that one family owns all these cars save one, and is willing to share them, is a blessing. The Safari Delta, sitting as it was raced, blew me away. Thank you Matteo for this video, and for the great work you do showcasing Italian motoring history
Many thumps up for the video and the accurate and graphic storytelling!!! I have one question though , I didn't want to post in the 037 video... Did actually Lancia build the 200 Stradale 037, or as the urban myth says, showed half of them to the journalists and the comette, in one side of the city and then moved them quickly to the other as they hadn't produced enough? It's an intriguing one here...but a great story! :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Regarding the 037 story, that's a baseless legend the Grand Tour perpetuated because it makes for good TV... But none of that is true. FIA officials and Lancia's period competitors weren't fools, and such a trick would have never worked in real life. Lancia made all the cars it had to make, the 200 road cars plus the 20 "evolution" cars, but not a single one more.
Lovely tour, feel so fortunate to have seen the 80's onwards cars in action on stages in New Zealand, especially the 037 and Group B era. So long ago, but unforgettable
@@Matteo_Licata Even more surprising to see genuine road going versions of the Stratos, 037, and S4 doing demo runs before a tarmac stage of the recent WRC! Quite a few Integrale still here too considering the size of our (tiny) market.
2 cars I have seen on the road in recent months that might surprise you - one of those original Alpine A110 - I was gobsmacked seeing it drive past me. And just a few weeks ago I was at the petrol pumps filling up and a guy pulled up in a white 1966 Ferrari 275 gtb. (We have a local billionaire here in town, I know he has a car collection so I am certain they both belonged to him.) The Ferrari V12 sounded absolutely amazing. Great video again, thanks for posting, I enjoyed it - those cars!!
Such random encounters with automobile royalty are priceless: I still remember when, about a year ago, I stopped for fuel on the way to the gym and there I find an immaculate Lancia Flaminia Sport bodied by Touring Superleggera... Chatted to its driver and I tried to ask him if I could film it someday, but that never happened, sadly.
Magnificent stuff. What a collection and what a video- very well produced and shot. Co-incidently, I spent last evening reading various Lancia roadtests from 1980s/90s. I've heard that the proposed range will be all-electric so I'll wait, in hope, for a hydrogen powered Lancia.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, Lancia is coming back, and that makes me happy indeed. We'll see what they'll come up with, but the first will be a new Ypsilon for 2024. A new Delta won't arrive until 2028, it seems
Great, and informative as always. Bravo Matteo! 👏🏻 But i miss the Alfa rallycars from the 50’s and the Gtv6 rallycar. But maybe they are a story for another video. 😉 And the Alfasud bimotore is a interesting consept.
Again, a great Video, Matteo. Thank you. You have to go to the 2023 Edition of the Rallyelegend at San Marino. There you will see nearly all of the shown vehicles in Action, that´s an impressive experience. It´s worth the way to San Marino.......
Surly the finest collection of rally cars in existence. Only others you could add are the Mk2 Escort, Opel Manta 400 and possibly Vauxhall Chevet HSR and Talbot Sunbeam Lotus and and and 😁
Proper real racing / rallying cars - from the heydays and always worth a look. Its why I love the Goodwood Festival races. Older racing cars who's owners want to race not just look at and if it gets bent so what they will fix it
The decision within the FIAT group to redirect all resources from the Lancia/Abarth team to the Alfa 155 DTM project (although initially successful) still puzzles me to this day. It was a blow for the Lancia brand and the 155 did not profit from the DTM succes.
I wouldn't be surprised if they'll add one someday. I think they may still be looking for the one with the "right" history and provenance to be available
You're 100% right, and I will duly cover the "regular" FWD Delta in the future. Unfortunately, I can't promise when that will happen though, as it depends on whether I'll get to film one someday.
@@Matteo_Licata no worries, we can only hope because I believe the more "plain vanilla" models of Italian cars deserve more coverage as there's too much on the halo cars already. The Arna was a good step forward as no matter how it was/is panned, it deserved it's story to be told and I believe cars like the Delta and Brava to name a few deserves it's place amongs the Millenial enthusiasts
Today’s WRC might be a far cry from yesterday’s glory, yet it’s not all bad and we better support it as long as there still are ICE powered cars running the woods and fields. In times of electrification and climate activists, we might be witnessing the last gasp of rallying as we know and love it.
Hey! Thanks for following us, Matteo. We really like your videos. Terrific work!

Thank you very much, Matteo. Fine video - as for me the golden era of rallying are the 70s and 80s, your story brightens up my day.
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful exhibition, thank you for sharing it with us, Matteo!
Glad you enjoyed it! It's become one of my favorite videos on the channel :)

Stunning Matteo. That is one unbelievable exhibition. All credit to the organisers and the research you've put into the video.
Thank you!!!!
A great exhibition of legendary cars, love it.
It is truly special, indeed. Already visited it four or five times!
Thank you very much for this who is who of rally cars. 037 always my favourite. Ciao 🙋♂️
Rain and tears.
An unrepeatable era
A truly lovely collection.😃
It is indeed!
The age of the brave of the Rally.. Grazie Prof. Matteo to remember when cars where driven by pilots.
Another Magnifique Presentation!

I think they haven’t got a Mk2 Escort or a Manta 400 only because they haven’t yet found the examples with the right provenance and pedigree…

You can keep all your super-duper hyper cars... I'll take this group of real world warriors any day.
🫵 I miss the successful 1982 Opel Ascona 400 in this exhibition- an also important car indeed! But the other ones are still Great, too 👍🏁✌️
I guess it isn't there not because they didn't want one, but because they haven't yet been able to find the right example
I agree - definitely the golden age of rally - I wouldn’t even know now which manufacturers compete - maybe Renault, Toyota and Hyundai?
Yeah, it does seem to me too that the WRC has fallen completely out of enthusiasts’ radars. I don’t know the current competitors either
@@Matteo_Licata I had to look it up - Toyota, Ford & Hyundai!!
Can we have a feature on the Lancia Delta itself next? I believe the standard car deserves more coverage beyond the HF's and Integrale's

Mateo, did you post this on ACI TV? I saw it the other night.
No I didn't, but someone else sure did, if you saw it there!
A new Lancia Delta is coming maybe 2025? first will be ypsilon in 2024 the LANCIA brand IS BACK BOIS............
Indeed. I've read 2028 for a new Delta, but I hope it'll arrive sooner.
Nothing Bwats Lancia ...😘😘😎😎
It was a truly a special era for rallying.Todays popping and banging antilagged rally cars do nothing for me...
I feel the same. Modern WRC cars are the fastest ever and do amazing things, yet rallies seem to have fallen off most enthusiasts' radars...
