I was in Didsbury last year and saw Dr Chris Steele from ITV This morning, he looks like an old fella now but it was 100% him, i was going to say hello to him but i thought not because i didn't want him to think i was a lunatic
I remember renting a flat around Burton Road about 15 years ago. Im a Mancunian born and bred, (half Spanish) and felt more at home in my mums hometown just outside Madrid than I ever did in West Didsbury. It was full of upper middle class Southerners wearing vintage and hipster clothing and claiming to be left wing despite only hanging around in the main with other posh Southeners. There might have been some nice coffeeshops and bars but for a local Mancunian to feel out of place in your own city didnt feel great. I mean these posh t**ts aint inviting a local from The Old Moat estate out for Avocado on fckin toast!
