      That may be well and true but she also said that once she had his hand secured back inside the suitcase after gouging it and his body with the bat, that she felt "safe." So she cannot have it both ways and I was shocked that the prosecutor missed that. He was not very effective.

    • @Nous520
      @Nous520 День назад +1

      @@NorthStarr0216the idea of being so much in fear for your life that you go upstairs, tuck yourself in bed and go to sleep is so outrageous. It’s such an egregious affront to the truth that it matters not about what people think of how a DV victim acts there is no update and I cannot foresee an update ever being realised to the non correlation of the fear response and falling asleep.
      Let’s forget that argument though. Let’s go a step beyond it - if she felt so relieved that he was trapped in the suitcase and the following relief was to such an extent that she relaxed so totally that she fell asleep; then surely that could only result from feeling so secure in the knowledge that he COULD NOT escape.
      And that then begs the question- if she feared that his anger was ever increasing the longer he stayed in that suitcase - at what point would she have felt comfortable letting him out? It would seem the answer would be never. And if that’s the case, the fact that she did not invite help to get him out of the case while she “fled” then the only logical outcome is that he languishes in that suitcase. If not from lack of oxygen then from malnutrition. And then, even if she was to water and feed him inside the suitcase, that would mean he would be held captive for the foreseeable future.
      None of it works. NONE of it.
      If she had left the house and called someone- Brian, 911, ANYONE to get him out of the suitcase immediately after she zipped him in and he died in between that time…I could have some sympathy for this woman.
      Even with the case as it is - if she had shown a shred of regret, a ‘scintilla’ of remorse that Jorge ended up dead I could have some sympathy for her but she just DOESNT CARE that he died. She was ‘aghast’ not upset, not horrified, not freaked out- aghast. That suggests that she was appalled. Appalled at that fact that he had dared to die on her. Not devastation nor anguish. She was flabbergasted. They are all “me”Emotions. She did not express one emotion that involves the consideration of the suffering of the other person.

    So I am a DV survivor and can only talk from my experience but SB does not come across as a victim. When I was in my relationship I would never ever retaliate against my partner in fear of making it worse. I hid it from everyone including my family for 6 years I would have never told his family, neighbours etc like she did as again I was in fear of repercussions terrified of it!! When SB says she tried to placate him with puzzles etc I don’t understand that. Tge night it happened she was on the phone in the background shouting about him choking her and that was early on in the night but that didn’t anger him then?? Plus she is saying that both neighbours are lying, she saying the detective is lying re the phone call so she’s saying all these people are lying and she’s telling the truth where the only actual evidence we have is her lying over and over and the jury are now suppose to believe that!!!!

    The guy on panel is obviously well versed in prosecuting things. Uncivil law saying “worse. Cross. Ever.” means he’s mostly looking for fireworks for his channel rather than having *any* real courtroom experience. Kurt would have gone up and verbally hammered a woman who clearly was a dv victim. Now, I don’t think she gets off here and I whole heartedly also wanted to see her get her ass handed to her, but I’m not a lawyer. 😂

    Why is it that somehow everyone on every panel I watched so far regarding this trial is missing the vital part of the self defence instructions that you cannot claim self defense if you are the instigator. Jorge's threatening overt act (him starting to get out of the suitcase and threatening her) is the direct response to Sarah's act of zipping him in there and refusing to let him out (which is false imprisonment, a felony), Like Will Jay said, you can't point a gun at someone and then, when that someone also pulls a gun, shoot and claim self defense, because the other person pulled a gun . It will of course be up to the jury to decide on that, but it's definitely part of the upcoming jury instructions

You can see in the video of her talking outside her apartment to the police how thin she was. That doesn’t surprise me the way she drank though as many alcoholics don’t eat much.

    Sarshs brain is pickled everyone! End stage chronic alcoholism; she looks like she has cirrhosis/pancreatic issues. She remembers NOTHING except beating him w/ the bat, which I think she did early on. She let his regain consciousness, and we know the rest. Her memory is fried, her cognitive functions are badly compromised, and I don't believe she's even competent to stand trial. I do believe she didn't expect him to die, but rather than tell the truth, all she's done is attempt to protect her ego. Its so fragile, the slightest criticism topples it.
