- Today I'm reviewing the short 1 hour flight from Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur in a newly refurbished Malaysia Airlines Boeing 737-800.
This flight was really cheap, costing just MYR 180 (£30) for a one way flexible ticket. Slightly more expensive than Air Asia, but maybe worth the Premium...

I flew with MH last month with theirs old economy product. To be honest, I rather prefer the old seat with more cushions ans IFE screen during flight makes that the best B737-800 flighr I ever had.
I’ve never flown their old cabin but it sounds good 👍
Took the same plane 9M-MSE from Kul to Kch on the 14th of Aug 2023. I liked the new interior which is bright, white and clean. Prefer this bright interior compared to the dark coloured seats on air Asia or the old Mas cabin. So enjoy the new interior while it lasts and before it becomes grubby in time.
Also prefer the wifi IFE with my own headphones compared to the old IFE screens. The downside is that you need a fairly updated phone to use the wifi and the map showing the position of the airplane which is the best part sometimes does not work! My colleague had a 6 year old android and could not connect to the wifi IFE.
Flying to and from KLIA T1 is also much better than KLIA T2 as well.
Im glad they had tye b737-8 on service
Congratulations on 1000 subscribers! 🥳😊 Great video too!
Nice video. This is the exact plane my sister is on right now.
Happy 1K! I love your channel, please keep making more videos so I can travel vicariously through you🤩
Thanks, that means a lot!
Looks very smart the new seats
I like M/A 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
pretty smooth landing there
The last row of seats are the absolute worse! Row 4 however, more leg room than business class XD
Well actually I loved that row as it's rarely occupied and I moved there, making my own Economy Suite 🫶😜
Hi :) Awesome video! Do you know if there are are jetbridges there or are there only remote gates?
Just remote gates, but you walk straight from the terminal to the plane, no busses.
@@freddiesflightreviews really love this kind of airport! Tarmac view for the win
Hi, thanks for a great informative video. Wonder if you can help here. I’m looking at the same economy flight, class O from Penang to Langkawi and it says 30kg checked luggage is allowed with no Cabin luggage. Do you know if we are allowed to take more than 1 piece of checked luggage as long as it’s within the weight limit? Also, were you allowed to carry a small backpack/ hand bag into the cabin? Thanks
Hi, I’m not 100% sure but based off their website it sounds like everyone gets 1 piece of cabin baggage up to 7kg (www.malaysiaairlines.com/uk/en/travel-info/baggage.html#checked-baggage)
I personally just travelled with a backpack that weighed about 10kg and they didn’t check the weight. Then my partner checked a suitcase and just had a handbag as cabin luggage.
@@freddiesflightreviews hi thanks for your reply. That’s helpful thank you!
No, not worth travelling on this newly installed blue grey seats. The seat are uncomfortable, flat hard as plank and heat insulating seats. Take note that these design can be found for route more than 2 hours (Seoul, bali, hanoi, Yangon, Bangkok, jakarta, manila etc- not only on domestic flights). What is the half Dashboard dangling between business class and economy class? To balance the plane? Those cheap looking design and bad quality look cheap on a National carrier. Not to mentioned, the removal of in- flight entertainment (IFE)screen and asking customer to connect to the lousy wireless IFE to enjoy the entertainment on your own devices. The wireless IFE always does not Work even the flight attendance resetting them! Also, How many phone/ iPad is required for a family with kids of 3-4 travelling on board to enjoy the im flight entertainment (if its connect and Work). Also, no headset provided with all this changes. Other inconsiderate passanger happily blasting their audio publicly while watching their downloaded entertainment. The whole journey is so noisy and no peace of mind and the flight attendance just allow them to do so. Furthermore, the flight safety demonstration is done manually. Malaysia airlines is going backwards instead of moving forward improving.
Malaysia airlines claims that with the slimmer seats, removal of IFE screen, half dashboard between business class and economy, wooden cutlieries etc= lighter plane= less fuel consumption= more sustsinability/ eco friendly. But the ticket Fare does not reflect this. Its so called sustainability or eco friendly is just a scam. Just consider other flight provider if can. I feel embarassed with all this changes and they called themselves a National carrier of Malaysia? Just a joke and a piece of an embarassment as Malaysian
