I had that lady at 6:36 as my cabin supervisor during my flight from LHR to KUL (MH1) back in January and she was lovely to both me and my girlfriend! We were also in business and she was very attentive to our meal requests and entertained a very chatty passenger so patiently. Later when I told her that I’ve been away from Malaysia for years, she warmly said to me, “Thank you for choosing to fly with us and welcome back home!” Because of her and her colleagues, I chose to write a positive review of their service to which she and her colleague gave me and my gf the entire galley’s worth of Malaysia Airlines salted peanuts and teh tarik sachets to bring home hahahahaha. She definitely made my homecoming memorable and I’m so glad to see she still does an equally amazing job!
Malaysians are renowned for their hospitality and its heartening to see the resurgence of MH. Proud Malaysian here 🥹

Thats why I love to fly with MH. They might not have the best hardware but the crew is always - for me really always - perfect performing, lovely, funny chit chating. I love it - no matter if in Business or Eco.

Actually prefer Josh's videos. The main problem with 'Nonstop Dan' , is the food-reviews! He eats Vegetarian; so he never really show-cases the airline's normal gastronomy offerings.
My first thought, too, if it was a coincidence. On the other hand, Dan flew into KL, but Josh flew out.

We flew Malaysia Airlines 4 times last month from Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur and Bali to and fro. I have nothing but praise for the whole flight experience for our travels. The crew served us well and were very attentive to the demands of the passengers as well as ensured everyone had a proper flight experience in terms of meals, drinks as well as entertainment. Would really recommend the airlines and also prefer it for the south asia travelling in the future.
I flew Malaysia Airlines to Langkawi last year. The crew are second to none, so genuinely hospitable, warm and friendly. Love them!

Flown MH many times and, honestly, my experience of the cabin crew is exceptional too.
I can say the same for their budget airline subsidiaries too (Firefly Airlines and MasWings)
Their crew is awesome. But I was not impressed with the catering on a EZE-JNB route
Yeah they've been consistently very very good. I think this is a trait among many airlines in the region too.
Forty years ago MAS were one of the very best airlines in the world, alongside Cathay Pacific and Singapore. Their decline saddened me. Good to see them back in the game.
They are not. Only the very pleasant female cabin crew make it nice

I was in that same seat in the golden lounge on 4/4. Malaysian Airlines is actually really good, good crew, nice plane, great food with chef meals
I think customers play a part in the crew's mood as well. I just witnessed last week a middle-aged Malaysian Chinese businessman (Karen) guy in a suit grilling a cabin crew in Business Class (Malaysia Airlines domestic flight) just because he was doing his job collecting headphones back as we were about to land. Not only did he argue back (and didn't return the headphones), he even held back the line from disembarking the plane just to make a whole scene by verbally abusing him and mocking how he spoke (to my eyes, he was being racist as the cabin crew was of a different race) as he was the first person in line. The poor crew couldn't even smile after that.
Living in Malaysia I can confirm you that in a couple of years Malaysia Airlines made a great great job! Well done!
Flew MH from Penang to KL recently. Its barely a 40 minute flight, and yet, they served Drinks & Snacks, everything was efficient, on time, the crew were fantastic & kind. So much so, i'm booking my next Long Haul on MH.
Funny how you, Sir Josh, along with Nonstop Dan featured Malaysia Airlines in so short a time span! Yet here is MH trying to pick up the pieces after experiencing such rough skies--and nice to know that Malaysia's flag carrier has worked so hard to rebuild its trust and is now flying smoothly and steadily into a brighter future. Plus, the renowned Malaysian hospitality and caring service will make MH be highly esteemed. Brings me flashback when I flew Malaysia Airlines in the '90s when it was among the benchmark carriers for quality service, prestige and a commitment to deliver the best--of which it is doing now. Many, many thanks, Sir Josh, for your thorough and very pleasant, balanced review :-)

The MH crew has always been a pleasant bunch, and their sincerity really shows.
I grew up in Malaysia in the 90’s and used to love flying with them, then we flew with them a few months after the missing plane 10 years ago and the plane was empty and we felt so sad for the crew. Haven’t flown recently with them, but I’m glad to see they’re still going strong.

As a flight attendant in the US, thanks so much for your words of advice to your viewers. Our job isn’t always pleasant, but a simple smile and a thank you make all the difference to us. Sincerely. Even a simple reply when we say hello during boarding is most welcome. You can’t imagine how many people simply ignore us, when it’s our job to get you to your destination safely.

I was very pleased in all my recent flights with Malaysia Airlines. Their crews are one of the best in the world.
Great review, Josh... it's nice that you had a good experience with my national airline this time! Reminds me of the time I travelled on this exact same flight in late June last year although they hadn't had the refurbished cabins back then. Also, you probably know this, but I wanted to mention that the morning flight (1st out of the 3 that ply on KUL-DPS daily) is in an A330 that has fully lie flat business class seats in a wide body configuration 😉
flew with them in 2018 on their 737 and in 2019 on their a330 both times on DPS to KUL in eco, both times in exit row. the 737 was ok ish, but that was more due to many passengers incapable of following simple safety instructions. and on the a330 flight it was lovely as i got to sit in the 1st row in eco and the plane wasn't too ful so i got to chat quite a bit with the purser during extended turbulences who was super friendly. i work myself in aviation and as a teenager i lived 6 years in malaysia so MH and malaysia as a whole are always special to me. i would choose malaysian again without hesitation. would love to see them fly more to europe again in the future. but nice to see things are looking up for MH.

im a Malaysian and it’s good to watch your positive reviews. i believe Malaysia Airline is climbing back to its golden era and can’t wait for the new A330neo on september (as mentioned by trusted sources) and the retrofitted cabin for the A350s 😊

Flew MH recently from KL to Kuala Terengganu and return on the 737. Paid for the XL seats in economy right behind business class. Well worth it, super comfy short flight 😊
I've flown Malaysian dozens of times and graded them a straight C, nothing noteworthy or bad. But this looks like they are moving up, which I love. Good for them !!.

Been flying with MH a lot last one being last year for a 45 minutes flight and it remained the same, they were exceptional, snacks and beverages were given with an amazing crew service every time I flew with them

Good to see that Malaysia Airlines is doing well again - and you fooled me with the mystery cocktail button. That would be something. I haven't flown them recently, but would definitely consider doing so again.
I’ve always loved MH both long-haul and SEA regional…I wouldn’t hesitate to fly them again…and I like the KUL lounges in both the regional and long-haul terminal…actually also a cool terminal hotel in the international facility (though not affiliated with MH, it’s nothing flashy but does the job and I could be the ultimate AvGeek and stare directly into the cockpits and watch them prepare for the flight (yes, a bit creepy, but that’s the view from the window!)

Hi Josh! after few years, today i flown MA domestic on their latest 737 Max. A super great aircraft with quite engine. The crew is wonderful as always since the last time i fly with them. I always believe when the crew performing well, your flight will be enjoyable regardless the class you in.
Josh you are so correct how a crew member can make or break your flying experience, especially in first class! My last flight from Mexico to JFK was with Delta in first class, a seat I paid full price for. The head stew for the front cabin was the nastiest, unprofessional, short tempered representative for this airline I have ever encountered. The rude scale was off the charts, but the last straw to ruin a usual lovely flight was having a snack basket shoved under my nose without a word or smile before our descent into the airport. My chin literally slid off a bag of chips as the basket was abruptly pulled away. Omg, there were no words! I usually give the front cabin crew starbucks gift cards, but after this flight, they went home with me.
I flew the MH 737 in a 2 hour flight just last week and I was actually BLOWN AWAY. Good things are happening. Took the Book the Chef option (beef). Crew was so attentive. I did not expect it. Very happy.

Hi Josh, presently sitting in the Golden Lounge at KUL. I didn't realise that there are at least 2, maybe 3, Golden Lounges here and apparently the one for international flights in the C satellite terminal is the best one. The lounge for Regional flights (and domestic ?) Is in the main terminal. A minor criticism was that it took a while to find it ....
I flew once the same FLIGHT, and the crew was amazing, great job MALAYSIA AIRLINES and greetings from MEXICO.

Hey Josh, it’s worth mentioning regarding Fast Track Immigration, that it’s available to all pax booked in premium cabins, regardless of the carrier. Flew of KL to BKK with TG just a few days ago.
It´s good to see MH focuses on what they do best: "soft product".
I´ve had similar experiences with them albeit in Economy Class.
Unfortunately they were forced to withdraw from Europe (except for London, UK) due to severe financial troubles a couple of years ago ...
So, I have to choose other carriers between Europe and Asia for the time being as MH does not really market their London flights beyond the British market and having two stops towards destinations beyond KUL makes little sense.
I do hope they´ll return to FRA or AMS eventually and they would get my business again.

I am a cabin crew and I appreciate when a passenger acknowledges my hard work and not just take whatever I do for granted. Imagine having to deal with demanding passengers who basically ring for you and just say “Coke”, imagine when it’s not just 1 you have to deal with. We are only human and we can get exhausted. I try my best all the time and sadly sometimes i have to deal with unpleasant, entitled people who treat us as mere waiters. Please treat us and your fellow passengers with respect; we try to clean the toilets as often as possible but don’t be that guy who pees on the floor, not flush, stuff your trash in any hole you can find except the trash can. Sometimes you wonder why we treat “certain passengers” of “certain ethnicities” “better”, but if you take a look in the mirror, you will realise why we do; they treat us with respect and thank us for our service. A little thank you and please goes a long way.
Wow that's horrible. What countrys you fly or which airline? I fly a lot between Europe and Asia also with cheap airlines and I never saw a bad behaviour from passengers or crew. Even wizzair or Ryanair 😂
