Freeze your bird seed overnight and it will eliminate 100% of the moths. I was constantly dealing with tons of moths in the seed mix I fed my African Grey. Once I started freezing each new bag before opening it I haven’t had a single moth.
Great show as always! I just wanted to add a comment: Seed moth at 4:05 - enough reason not to use the seed hoppers with baskets. Another is that small finches, like Goulds, will husk the seed inside the bucket containing the fresh seed (it won't make it to the hull basket), thereby preventing access to the fresh seed. I have also observed my chicks actually resting inside the seed area, using it like a stress perch. If people are using breeding cages the same size as yours, I believe their best option is what you recommended. If you have the space in your cage, you could provide separate seed cups for the various varieties of seed, since companies like Morning Bird now sell seed varieties separately. That way, birds can access their favorites without waste.
Thank You for sharing. I like the first one You showed . The birds don't poop on the seed and I reuse the seed that the birds don't eat. Have a fantastic day
it would of been nice to put a link where i can buy it. especially if it was a affiliate link where you could of made some money off it. now i have to figure out what its name is on amazon
is it good for budgies? I have the white one, narrow opening of seed tray. My budgies trying hard to take the seeds from the tray. Looks like it is difficult for them
Hellow .I am Abid from pakistan . How are you ???? I start love birds breeding .if you shere with me your experince and advice me some tipes for good breeding. Thanks.
I've never trusted those, you're on your way all set it seems, then they get clogged for some reason - individual bird behaviour, many things... I know ppl advising it's ok to just leave it like that for a weekend out with no supervision whatsoever and it'll be fine. I disagree, you're just 'playing with fire' here.
Wow. I follow your channel and this is the first time then I disagree with you completely. I find those you prefer absolutely the worst of all of the feeders I have ever tried. By far. You said "they may poop in them..." 😁😁 You wanted to say that they will crap all over them diligently with special pleasure of shooting inside as much as they possibly can, right? Keeping them clean is a nightmare and takes so much time. That's first. Second. Birds will eat the seeds and fairly quickly they will bury the seeds by husks completely. And they'll go hungry. Semi automatic hopper #no 2 you presented is better. I am experimenting with designing a bit different hopper if it will turn out well, God willing I will have lot less work around the birds.
"They may poop in them for sure" 🤣🤣🤣. With time ive found out that the food trays need to be on the cage floor they cant be placed at perch level or higher otherwise the birds will use them as perches and eventually poop in the trays as a result of this. Once you get you design up and running I would love to see.

When the guy doesn't know the difference between a bird room & an aviary it's hard to take him seriously!

Quite cruel keeping birds in these small cages.
How so ? Could you please elaborate as to why you believe this?
You seem to only respond to the one guy who criticized you, but not to the several messages as to where to buy the feeders?
Link pls
