@@k.o.t.o.n. yes you can still zoom with it! i don't have the exact focal length since but i'd imagine it's close to 16 on the widest (referring to the video) and in that case maybe a 50 on the tele end?
Recently I heard a few people saying the double-sided sticky tape wore off and they have no replacement ring tape. Also in japan many places getting strict with recording and that lens just makes the camera much more noticeable.
Ah yes I don’t recommend keeping the lens on after you’re done with shooting to improve longevity. Mine finally came off but I just used multiple pieces of 3m tape to get it back on. Oh I didn’t know about the restrictions on public filming. Still I think the zv1 should be small enough compared to the bigger cameras
Thanks! I believe the audio in the outdoor space was filmed using a deity d4 duo which has a mic pointing to both the front and back of the camera. Unfortunately I don’t recommend it that much because there is a serious wind leak that causes audio to break out even with the wind muffs on. I use a rode videomic go2 for on the go filming nowadays
i believe you're referring to the background defocus function they advertized. yes it still works to a certain degree.. that function basically locks the camera on the widest aperture setting and using shutter speed n iso to compensate for it. in theory, because the angle is wider now you will get less "background blur" but it should still be somewhat visible
That would be the dream! IIRC the rx100 line had a 24mm before with a slower aperture trade-off. I'm personally fine with that tbh. So hopefully the mk2 will have that lens, minus the BS crop in 4k mode and I'll be a happy camper.
@@OrhCeh I'm so close to buying one.. but the narrow lens is the only thing stopping me. I have the a6000 and gopro black 7, but i want to shoot in 4k with a dedicated vlogging camera.
@@derek9630 hmm... I think you got to weigh out the pros and cons of all set ups, but I'm also going to say that maybe you'd want to consider an a7c as well as an upgrade
honestly I don't have the answer, but from my 1month plus use, I do not feel any difference to the motors so far. As much as possible, I've been careful to tilt the camera in a way that gravity helps the motors retract and extend whenever I can.
Thanks finally a real life test I can relate to!
Glad it helped!
@@OrhCeh can yo zoom with it? what is the focal length both at the widest end and in the most zoomed in telephoto end?

Good job thanks for sharing your video watching from Edmonton.
Thank you too!
your sound is really good, is that off the ZV-1 or you got an external mic, which type? Wonderful video

Hi, thanks for making this video. Do you know if the glue/adapter leaves a residue when you take off the frame?
Hmm considering it's 3M, I doubt it'll leave any residue. But even if it does I'm sure a wipe with a little bit of vinegar n water should do the trick
Does blurring the background still work with the adapter on?

Looks pretty good. What did you use for lighting?
Thanks! Nothing much actually. Just natural light shining through a frosted window.
Great vid! do you ever think a zv-1 mk2 or later will have a wider lens built in?

good job , great video. tnx
Glad you liked it!
Will the weight tear up the internal lens motors over time?

Great video. I’m stuck between getting the Ulanzi lens or the Zomei lens to get a wider angle on the ZV1. Any idea which one is the best?
Thanks! I did some digging around and I believe they're the same thing just different names. Just go with the cheaper one you can get.
@@OrhCeh awesome thank you! I appreciate that mate 👌🏼💯
What's the front filter thread size?
I believe it's 58mm
do note that if you're using it in the macro only configuration, the filter thread is smaller
Can we add nd filter on top of that wide angle filter?
Yes you can(58mm if I’m not wrong)! Although I’m not sure why you’ll need an external ND when the zv1 already has an internal ND filter option :)
@@OrhCeh i think there is still a need for it if you take a video at noon time.. highlights would still have clippings.. awesome video bro..keep it up
Does he look like Jack ma????
I swear I have no relation with him! But if I do, I could really use a million dollars right about now =/
