Don't worry I have many many times 😊 I did full reviews of threshold and children's children because I thought they were too good to just briefly mention. Children's children is my favourite moodies album! Preaching to the converted 👍
The greatness of a band lies in the fact that people’s preferences of their work are so much varied and relate to it differently. Here’s mine. 1) A Question of Balance 2)EGBDF 3) In Search of the Lost Chord 4)Days of Future Passed 5)Long Distance Voyager 6)To our Children’s Children’s Children 7)Seventh Sojourn 8)Octave 9)The Present 10) On the Threshold of a Dream

Only just got into the moody blues so ill rank the albums ive heard so far: 1. To our children’s children’s children 2. In search of the lost chord 3. Days of future passed 4. Threshold of a dream 5. A question of balance
For me top three, in no particular order: Threshold of a Dream, To Our Children’s Children’s...,Days of Future Past. All great, listen to them regularly still. (Old guy here).
Well, as the Moodies are my all time favorite band, I am most impressed with your knowledge and pretty much agree with your list. And you are right, that most everything post Long Distance Voyager is much inferior to the core 7, including The Present. I agree that the 2nd side of DOFP is perfect, and I hope you picked TOCCC as your favorite, as I think after listening to it for 50 years now, it still stands as their masterpiece, or at least best work. All the core 7 is fantastic, and one of the best runs of quality music in popular music history, in my view!
Good point. People often say you to listen to the Moodies as full albums not individual songs. You might extend that thought to say many Moodies fans love the full Core Seven set, not individual albums.
@@jimuren2388 can you believe that rolling Stone magazine thinks nothing of the moody blues. They don't like the music and don't understand their appeal. Rolling Stone is taking too much drugs.
I love that you are trying to do this, quite a challenge. I warn you that over the years ahead, your opinions will alter frequently, your favourites will change, and often songs or albums you don’t much like will seem better at times……this is the Moody Blues for you. Wonderful. Well done for spotting them👍
Thank you :) you definitely should check them out. They don't do 20 minute songs and 5 minute keyboard solos like the other bands but they are just as unique and brilliant. Merry Christmas to you too!
I’ve seen a lot of Moody Blues album rankings and it seems to be a little all over the place within the core 7. There all really good but Question of Balance is my favorite. I agree with your initial opinion of the album.
Personally, I don’t get the hate that The Present seems to get. I think it’s their last solid album, I love every song on it. I’m not a fan of the albums after that except Strange Times in 1999 was really fantastic.
I love all the albums you mention. We all have our own tastes, and Octave would be the album I like least, but I still like it. The others I could not list in order. I just love 'em all including the Present. 😛cttgaegoaktd
I think keys of the kingdom and strange times are the only ones I'd maybe get into after the present. I've heard some of the other side of life and it's too synth pop for me I'd say
That is fair, Long distant voyager was the concert tour I seen when they were on tour and I have seen them 3 more times, they put on a great show! Sad that Ray has passed.
Steve I must admit I'm not a lover of "the other side of life" album, I'm not knocking you, you love the moodies like a lot of us do,so you are a music :brother', but apart from a few good tracks, I feel it's a bit underwhelming, but that's just my opinion, continue enjoying it. Unfortunately the "famous" 7is a lot to live up to! 🎶🎸👍
Every Good Boy Deserves a Favour and Questions of Balance are my favorites. It does not mean i Dont like the others, since every album has a minimun of 4 great songs
You seem to like the Moody Blues alot , like me, that's why l will comment. Their best album is , by far , In Search of the lost cord .How come you don't see it. Any way , Moodies were a fantastic band.

"To Our Children's Children's Children" I bought this in 1970 and almost wore it out.
You must listen to the whole album !

To Our Children's Children's Children is a great album, possibly their very best.
CHILDREN is the greatest

By all accounts the recording of Octave was an absolute nightmare. That it came out t all was something of a miracle

I love the classic MB's albums, they definitely became more commercial after Long Distance Voyager... but there are some gems on the later albums.
Threshold of a dream, then sojourn then Days.
You need to listen to "the other side of life " I really enjoy that album, Threshold of a dream is my favorite.

@@ozricaurora6943 Strange Times is really overlooked. It has the closest sound to the Classic 7 since Seventh Sojourn.

Because of his accent, perhaps if would speak slower. But I can't understand him.
