What do you mean by "betray"? Gin and Tousen were never there for the Gotei13 at first place, they were there on Aizen's side and self-served their own goals :))))
he is not "cold" he is "pragmatical" if my memory is good it's him that say that in a war there is no good and bad guy, just 2 oponent that try to win for their own objectives! i think the same way it's why "pitty" is not something i have, you have pitty when you think that someone is lower than tou or the situation! you are pragmatical when you respect the resolve of you oponent but make everything to win even the dirtier! i think the same way it's why i have no pitty or no " galantery" gamantery is looking as a woman as inferior to a man and so that we must gave her something good because we think they can do any toehr thing yhan loosing against us galantery is disrespectfull dame as pitty!
Izuru is probably one of the most tactical opponent in bleach if not, then the most adaptable. Having one a sword that can double the weight is terrifying considering that almost every character relies on a weapon to win. He has excellent field intelligence, perceptive eyes and has high levels of Haro and Kido for range. He may not be like Aizen but he certainly has the skills that back him as a lieutenant, especially one who was mentored by Gin...

His Bankai Hihiō Zabimaru (狒々王蛇尾丸) here Hihiō means Baboon King and if you try to remember Zabimaru's appearance is that of a Baboon with a snake tail. Now again looking at his Bankai's name its only "Baboon King", now why theres no "Snake King" because Zabimaru has only told him only half of its Bankai name.
If I remember correctly Kubo has drawn concept art of several bankai we don't get to see. And someone asked him If he'd ever drawn Kira's and he said something like it's too gruesome for him to visualize it on paper. My man, you can't drop a tease like that and leave us hanging.

Looking back at it, fruccion killed by lieutenants none of the espada were unable to defeat a single captain only to get bodied by Aizen. It definitely is a shame because I like their Spanish theming and resurrection.

Gotta love the lieutenants. Theyre always cool when they get screentime unless they're getting sone dirty. But I love how some of these lieutenants have op abilities and actually use Kido.
The entire philosophy of squad three is that battle is sorrowful and terrible to commit. But it also makes some of the members incredibly deadly fighters as their mantra is to finish a battle as quickly as possible to not prolong or glorify it.
One of my favorite characters from bleach. I love his sword release design and the ability that comes with it. So much wasted potential with him in the end. I would've loved to have seen a bankai with him. Maybe once activated the enemy gets trapped in an area with him where if he cuts the "air" it makes that area heavier too. Or where if the enemy hits him he becomes lighter and faster allowing him to make more hits on his opponent weighing them down more
