One of the most well planned, OMG, shocking endings and character deaths in recent memory. I was in TOTAL shock and just sat there in my silence for awhile. This show was just BRILLIANT beyond belief.
The shock and fear we hear from Nina right before it happens.... This was one of the saddest and scariest moments in this whole show for me. They just had to tell her it was coming and make her final seconds the worst
I think you make a great point, Joe, that they gave us time to get to know Nina and actually like her, so by the end what happens to her is shocking and sad and painful. I'm not sure I would have felt that way after the end of season 1, but by the time it happens here, I was truly stunned and felt the loss. It's extra cruel that they felt the need to tell her that her sentence would be carried out "shortly" so that she had time to be terrified and upset. They didn't have to do it that way. She had been helpful to them at some point -- but there was still no mercy. Tragic, for sure.

Nina's execution really upset me. Probably because I fell into the dream trap and felt hope for a few seconds
The insert shot of the mop and bucket is a clue that something will need to be cleaned up very soon but still I did not see it coming
