  • Hello and welcome all to my latest video.
On 15th December 2021 I visited Brighton station which serves Brighton Main Line.
It's amazing station which has a lot of variety's on show, and it's first time filming Thamslink 700.
The services are mostly overseen by Southern, Thameslink and of course Gatwick Express that has been reintroduced back in service, after nearly 2 years off been withdrawn due to Covid 19.
Station architecture is absolutely beautiful, especially at night time.
Unfortunately I couldn't of picked at a worst time to go, as all of you know and has watched the news about the Omicon South African Variant which is ripping through the UK, which has made massive impact on Train Operating Companys, as there are a lot of train crew shortages ether ill with flu or tested postive for Covid. Half of Gatwick Express services has been cancelled, so I only caught some of them. And also GWR Great Malvern Brighton & Bristol Parkway has been cancelled so couldn't film that which was disappointing.
Southern are running this temporary timetable from 13th December to 4th January, to help tackle Covid and this difficult winter season. They have cut some of their service such as Southampton Central service, and only running service that starts and terminates at Barnham, Portsmouth Harbour service was the only one to operating stations on West Coastway Line. Also some Barnham & Portsmouth service was also cancelled.
Despite all cancellation services I still had a brilliant time, will come back again and hopefully it would be more better.
If you like what you see please give it a like and leave a comment.
Next station in my next video would be Southampton Central.
Until then I will see you all in my next video.
    TTFN & Stay safe. :)

Nice video, Nice to see the 313s still going strong, my question is why is there such thing as the Brighton to Hove service? It's only a 1 minute journey and there are plenty of trains heading in that direction anyway.

Thank you. 😀 I think it’s because they are trying to reduce overcrowding. As Portsmouth Harbour are every hour and 313 is only 3 car. And I have said this many times to people. 313 is not suitable for Portsmouth - Brighton route, not over an hour journey as they have no toilets on them trains, very small, cramped and very uncomfortable to sit on. They should off run only shorter journeys like Portsmouth- Littlehampton route They should of had 377 for Portsmouth - Brighton run as it’s 4 car and better seating, why Southern didn’t used that approach is beyond me.

I've read on forums in the past that the reason for the Brighton-Hove shuttle is to connect with Victoria-Littlehampton services, as there is no direct link between Brighton and Littlehampton except for a couple of peak hour services.
I'm sure that West Coastway commuters appreciate the presence of the Hove shuttle more now that the Brighton-West Worthing service has been reduced to peak hours only.
