To be fair traditional watches aren't going to stay top of the game forever. This is the digital era. Smartwatches are getting more popular every year. partly agree with you. I own a smart watch and it has a lot of handy benefits over a mechanical watch. Although a Rolex isn't only a status symbol, in a 10 year span a "cheap" ($5000) Rolex can already significantly rise in value. For instance a friend of mine saved up money for as long as I can remember and with 18 bought a Rolex for 5k. When he was 30 he sold it for 12k when he started a family and needed the money. Maybe I'm just biased bc I'm swiss and my grandfather used to work for Rolex for over 20 years, but I think it's a smart investment early on in your life if you are fortunate enough to be in the financial position to make the purchase.

There's a lot of lack of information in this, they were the first wristwatch chronometer certified by default. They leave out a lot of important detail. Also marketing, but Rolex is nowhere near the finest brand of wristwatch in the world. Look at Vacheron Constantin, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet etc. A lot of Rolex was using already existing aspects of other watches and putting their twist on it. Also the name "Rolex" was also decided on because it sounded luxurious which I'd say is important information if you're trying to learn about the history of the company and brand. Its not misinformation it's just lack of key information. Also the "keep ahead of the industry curve" is not the Rolex of today. They are very stagnant and refreshing the old, like the GMT Pepsi bezel or reviving Tudor. They are no longer the cutting edge of watchmaking. This wasn't a terrible video by any means but if you're going to make a video on such an established brand at least do it right.

But rolex today are doin what Porsche are doing, they are refining the same models to become better and better. and that is inovation and refinment, and they do cutting edge techonlogy, name me a PP or AP that has a service interval of 10 years?
