Great to see you are flying! Just passed air law and ops procedures, your videos really helped the exam nerves just started a few other exams and I see why you said met is the hardest one xD keep the videos up they have really helped so a big THANK YOU! Happy flying and wishing you all the best!
Glad the videos help and thanks for watching. I need to pull my finger out and get Principles of Flight completed, then all my ground school exams are done.
@@SpectrumGeeks I remember in your air law video didn’t you say it expired in may 2023 And if it does would you have to do all your exams again? Also what flight school do you learn out of?
@@budgetmarge4806 Thats correct, I have to be done and passed with ground school by May or have to start over :( Just as well I only have the one left to do :) I am learning at Staverton in Gloucester.
@@SpectrumGeeks Im sure you will smash it! update us all when you have, also hello from liverpool flight school! Just did my solo not too long ago which sure was an experience🤣
@@budgetmarge4806 Thanks for the confidence and well wishes and congrats on your solo, thats the one and only time you will do that entry in the log book. Fly safe and I will update as I go.
Great video Dale thank you for doing it mate. My next flight is my solo cross country qualifier via Gloucester and Leicester. I’m learning at Tatenhill in a C152. Watching your video has helped me a lot as my radio skills need a lot of work. It was enjoyable to watch, cheers 👍🏼
Thanks for watching and commenting, and best of luck on the solo cross country. I think radio and landing are the two hardest things in flying, still need to improve my radio also.
@Richard-mx5hx I am indeed. A bit surprised to find myself at this stage, having spent ages in the circuit trying to land safely!!! Solo landaways done, qxc scheduled 😃
Thanks for watching Rod. You are right, Gloucester is probably busier than Cardiff, but like you say its the big planes thats the new bit to add complexity.

Flying wise I have a mock test next week, then all being well I will get my final skills test booked in. I also have one more ground school exam to do, and also get my radio operators license. So nearing the end of this part of the journey now.
For your cross country qualifier you have to get out the plane, pay your landing fee and get a form signed to show you were there, and if you did anything wrong they will write it on the sheet. When I went to Cardiff I had to wait a while to get the form signed, but when I got to Wolverhampton I did stop for a drink and something to eat before heading back to Gloucester.
Is always painful watching own videos back though remember you are probably a lot harder on yourself. I think every pilot thinks their radio could be better. I've got one more solo fly away and GST to do, but for a PPLM. I have first refusal for a CT2K so that will get me places cruise at 135knots all day. It's been a real struggle as many setbacks out of my control 🤣 almost taken me 2 years.
The CT2K looks like a nice craft. Thanks for the feedback on the self assessment, and best of luck with your final tests. 2 years isnt to bad, I am taking longer than I planned due to weather, instructor availability, etc, but its important to do well than to rush in my opinon.
@@SpectrumGeeks yeah good way of looking at it. I have 5 types and I've not passed yet. from the super fast CT2K to the 50kts everywhere X-air. Same thing like you say, weather, plane serviceability, when weather and plane perfect you have to go to a wedding or something 😩
Well done on completing this milestone on your way to a ppl. Brought back memories of my own CC flight from Glasgow - Glenrothres - Dundee - Glasgow.
Many thanks.

Snap! How did it go?
Really well thanks. Better than expected. Are you flying out of tatenhill too? I now have my PPL and enjoying building my hours.

What a great milestone completed! I would not really class Cardiff as busy ;) But it certainly has some jolly big planes coming in and out.

Lovely landings! I'm watching because I'm slated to do my QXC in 3 weeks' time 😮
Have fun!
Great video! I'm 7 out of 9 exams passed and just soloed. Can't wait to be confident enough to XC solo :)
Congrats on the first solo and well done on being so far done with the exams. Enjoy the journey and all the best.
Hey, how were the exams? And which books did you use to revise?

Do you land and take off or do you get out and have a look around and do you have to pay for every landing at each airport ?
