  • I touched my first handpan at the end of May 2024 for all of 5-10min at a yoga festival in KY called MyPath. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I started researching what I could about them as an instrument, companies to buy from, listening online to different manufacturers, players, etc. On June 29th I made my decision and purchased an Ayasa D Kurd 10 and received it on July 10th. Immediately I just sat with my new pan feeling it, tapping all over to hear the different resonant tones it makes as I became familiar with this new to me instrument. Over the course of a few weeks I watched a few tutorials on RUclips which were great. On Aug. 17th I decided to dive into the Malte Marten Method online course. The beginning of this video is a little 2/3 poly-rhythm that leads into the main content (“The Beginners Journey: Week 7 | Melodic Inspiration”), I picked up from the MMM course.

    I agree. I don’t know about putting them on RUclips, but watching yourself is a great way to improve! Cheers and safe travels🙏🏻

      @@hollynicholson8983 recording yourself is definitely a good way to improve and also look back to see where you were. It also creates that nervousness that you “have to perform” even though no one may ever see it, but allows you to work through the nervousness.

      That’s so awesome! I know the feeling. It’s very hard to put down. I’m roadtripping at the moment and I’ve been getting brief times to play in hotels or next to my vehicle.
      I’m happy you have a handpan and love playing it as well. It’s so peaceful and meditative.

      @@maartenmateusen8057 Unfortunately, I don’t know of any tips. When I became interested in looking to purchase one it was recommended to me to look up a few or more companies and choose based on how it sounds to your ears. I kept going back to Ayasa. They are handmade in the Netherlands. It was expensive, but I absolutely love it! Don’t regret it at all.

      @@stacieseymour5926 Thank you! I’ve probably played it a minimum of 30min daily since I got it. Can’t put it down. I’m traveling and I played out in the desert in Utah today so that was a first and amazing. Didn’t have any recording equipment with me though. Just a still photo.
      You should def look into getting one. They are so meditative and therapeutic to play 😁

      You are so welcome.. I 5:18 am so hooked on listening to the pandrum and how it makes me feel on the inside..It's amazing how well you play this early into your journey...I do have a question, can you feel the vibration as you play??? I feel like just having it that close to the body would feel uplifting as well as healing...Lord willing I will get me one very soon....

    • @lubbersdan
      @lubbersdan  2 дня назад

      I can't say that the vibration is something I have noticed on a conscious level, but I believe in energy, frequency and vibration for healing so just because I haven't been consciously aware of it that doesn't mean my body and soul isn't picking it up subconsciously. I will now be aware of when I pick it up later to play and see how my perception of that shifts.

      @lubbersdan I as well believe in lots of spiritual experiences.. I feel it through my cheap speaker and my skin tingles as I meditate and absorb every note... this drum lifts me just when I hear it over the air , can't wait to have one... I live in the woods away from people and society, I love it.. however I have had experiences w woodland creatures coming to my porch just playing the pandrum over my speakers.. I'm amazed daily by this instrument and every person who decides they want to play one...

    What do these cost for a budget beginner? I want in the Handpan club.

    • @lubbersdan
      @lubbersdan  2 дня назад

      I can not answer that question as I did not research budget handpans when I was looking at getting one from 3-5 different companies. The ones I looked at ranged from $1500-$3000. Add in shipping, protective case, taxes, customs fees, etc if you purchase one from a company that is not in your country. The one I am playing is handmade in the Netherlands by @ayasainstruments
