Healing Handpan Music | "Mira's Lullaby - Version 2"
A little lullaby that came to me a few weeks ago as a very dear friend of mines newborn was shown in my minds eye while playing. Although I've not yet met Mira since we now live in different areas of the country, I hope these sounds will soothe her from a distance.
*This is a revision of the first version, with what I believe are more pleasing sounds substituting the ghost notes for actual notes*

      @@lubbersdan Just wanted to check in with you about something. I did the Taper Audio thing for this show just using my phone. I had a friend save the radio broadcast as well. The radio broadcast sounded a little "thin" and didn't pick up the warmth of the room so much. My phone did a decent job on that end. I was thinking about doing a Matrix mix of both audios and wanted to know if it would be ok with you to include your 11:13 minute video at the beginning. I'll keep it Unlisted since Will hasn't released his new album yet (a few songs from it were featured during the show). But I'll probably include it in the Playlist. It won't show up on a search that way. If you had rather me not, I won't include your video. Just let me know. I'm going to fill in the rest with pictures of the stage I took before his second set started.

    Beautiful brother! Keep it up! Another place to find inspiration, is to find other players out there playing their songs on a D kurd, and trying to learn them and the techniques they use to create all kinds of different sounds. If you have not heard Kabeção or Nadishana or Manu Delago or Davide Swarup, each of these wonderful people have much to teach and beautiful music to experience. But truly, there are so many good players out there who have so much to offer. In a way, it is much like it is with guitarists. yo bro nice panning! Just a word of advice with that B flat note - have you noticed it sounds dead/out of tune compared to the rest of the notes you're playing? Basically you need to find the sweet spot - try striking that note nearer the center and at around 3 O clock. The trick is to accentuate the 5th harmonic and not the octave. Without geeking out too much - It's a common issue with D Kurd (called an echo impedance) where the note naturally sounds weaker/out of tune due to the air resonance within the instrument. It may also help to put a cloth inside the handpan to help absorb the unwanted frequencies. Good luck on your journey, my friend 🙏

    • @lubbersdan
      @lubbersdan Месяц назад

      Thank you! Obviously super new to all of it. I appreciate the recommendation on trying to find the sweet spot on the B flat. I'll have to look a bit more into the differences between the 5th harmonic and octave as well as echo impedance. This will be a good question to dive into with one of the instructors with the MMM online course. I don't come from that much of an extensive musical background. Had no idea it was a common issue on the D Kurd's. Funny you mention the cloth because I keep a microfibre cloth in the Gu when I'm not playing it and wipe it down after every session. Once again, appreciate you watching and taking the time to assist me along my journey with the pan 🙏🏻

    Whoa! That’s insane. Thanks for sharing. 8v just touching a mouse. Thank you for sharing your experience and journey. Can you use the ground of the outlets instead of adding a new ground like you did?

    • @lubbersdan
      @lubbersdan Месяц назад

      You absolutely can. If you have to check to see if the ground is actually grounded with either a voltmeter or a device that plugs in and the lights tell you if it's grounded or not. I use this method when I travel and stay in hotels. From my research connecting to the outlet ground and not directly to the earth can give you a somewhat "dirty" signal by going through the electrical system of home, apt, hotel, etc, so for long term I chose to do a separate copper rod directly into the earth and run it through the window. Sleeping grounding this way has drastically helped with my recovery, muscles aches, etc. Sleeping grounding also helps negate effects from dirty electricity or, EF, EMF and RF signals around you.

    Would the copper plate work if it wasn't hooked up to the copper outside?

    • @lubbersdan
      @lubbersdan 5 месяцев назад

      It would not. The minute it's disconnected from the copper rod outside, the plate is no longer "grounded" to the earth. It must be connected to be grounded. It's the same principle the grounding prong on 3 prong outlets. I hope that answers your question if I understood it correctly.

    • @lubbersdan

      If the powerstrip is plugged in, the EF reading is around 50, but to my understanding since the copper plate is grounded to the copper rod outside in the earth it negates the harmful effects. If the powerstrip is unplugged ( which is most of the time I'm working - I charge when I eat or take breaks ), the EF reading is in the single digits.
