I worked at WWGC during the construction years as a tree planter and later pulled 200 ft of 1 inch hose watering the saplings.. I continued on after the grand opening for another three years, I was assigned to the pine barrens unit.. Mowing fairways, tees ,greens and then eventually became an equipment mechanic... back in those days we knew we were building something special and I have fond memories of my time there, it did fall on hard times for a while and it is making a comeback, but nothing will ever compare to those glorious days in the sun when you could stop for a moment and take it all in.. Thank you for the video, Haven't see the old girl in a long time..
The price may not command it but this is one of the better courses in the Tampa Bay area. Well worth the drive from anywhere north of the bay. They have an awesome practice facility with a huge multi-tiered putting green.
I have been there twice, mid 90's and 2014. It is fun golf both times & course was looking worn out in 2014. The other course Rolling Oaks is real good too, with a different flare.
I was there earlier this year. Pine Barrens was in much better shape than Rolling Oaks. Awesome layout and definitely a different experience in the middle of FL. the sub 3-hour rounds were awesome too!
@@timothymichael2561 and that's a real shame, but completely understandable. It really is one of the coolest courses in the area and a huge departure from most courses in Tampa.
@@jdel647 definitely liked the layout. Just from pulling up to the start and having some guy in the parking lot “selling range ball buckets” like he was doing you a deal made for an uncomfortable experience. When you’re paying $100+, please include the scuffed range balls complimentary. Clubhouse was an unwelcoming as they come and ranger rick gave me a 5 minute overview of rules like I hadn’t played a round in my life. Overall subpar experience but to each there own.
@@timothymichael2561 World woods, Fox Hollow and Lake Jovita are my favorite courses in the bay area, the latter being semi private. I have been matched up with hackers out at world woods that made my round last 5 hours, but have also played in April in under 3 hours. That starters' message is for all of those 5+ hour gents and ladies that play out there...just the rub of the green when you're playing on a public course.
@@stevenkmorrison The place was sold to Cabot last year. They're refreshing everything, adding lodging, and homes. I hope the homes stay off the course like they do at Southern Hills Plantation down the road. The lack of lodging is a big reason why this place didn't get the run it should, imo.
Has my vote as the best 36 holes for the money. There were so many interesting holes mixed in with a ton of beauty especially at golden hour. My wife goes on a biz trip to Orlando every year and we go a few days early and always make sure this is on our list of courses to play. It is worth the drive!
@@bryanpeck7103 and if you want to play a fun goat track Brooksville Country Club right up the road has like 5 holes on the back 9 built into an old quarry. Some of the most fun shots you'll hit on a golf course anywhere in Florida. All for $25 in the summer and like $40 peak.
Southern Hills Plantation is the other nice course in Brooksville and where the Monday Qualifier for the Valspar is played and also it's a 2nd Stage Korn Ferry venue. FYI
Lauren is so fuckin cool - always love to see her in the NLU videos. Course looks mint - def going to have to check it out when we visit our Tampa friends
Don’t know what time of the year you played but I was just down there in March of this year and a Sunday round was $125 and Pine Barron was in absolute terrible condition. Course hadn’t been manicured at all and shaggy. Ball marks all over the place that hadn’t been fixed and fairways had unfilled divots. Knowing the shape it was in, I wouldn’t of paid $60 for the round. Looks like it was in much better condition for you all. If you filmed this prior to 2021 golfers beware it doesn’t look like this and I was disappointed. Could’ve payed a little more to play Isleworth
I played Pine Barrens 2 weeks ago and it was in great shape. Also paid $40 for the round. FL golf is so seasonal you gotta grab the right time of year to get the really good value. Rolling Oaks course (not featured) lots greens due to frost. I haven’t played that course ever but would like to.
Should be an absolute gem, but the owners don’t take care of it with the treatment it deserves. Greens absolutely need to be redone, but they won’t since it’s the cash cow 18. When the weather is good, it can be pure. It’s just mostly not :/

Any video you guys do with Lauren is just so so so good. She’s so wholesome, brings a great vibe and she’s mega talented 🙌🙌🙌
Love the sorta cheap, but architecturally enjoyable rounds. Really love the sub $100 rounds like that.
Lauren is so balanced throughout the swing it makes me sick to look at my own swing

Agree, I travel from afar to play a week in September/October, it is a real deal then. No houses along the course, good people, a good test of golf.
Was one of my favourite public courses in the USA. Worth the drive
How do you go to World Woods and not mention the 360 degree range, short course, the three practice holes and acre wide putting green?
ohhh I knew I recognized the course's name, it's cause of the range lol
Such a great course. Loved playing back in the early 2000s
Her swing is incredible
Thank you for your films. Seriously you guys are the best. Come back to Oregon asap. I'll supply the beer!

Really hope the new ownership keeps the design of these two hidden gems. I love this place so much.
great video ! I've always wanted to play this course. My twin bother played here like 20 years ago, I gotta get there soon...
The sound the ball makes off Lauren's clubface is aspirational.
This is becoming one of the best products
It's really been the last year that the courses have gone downhill, but your footage looks much better than what people have been saying about it.
Was just there two months ago and don’t plan to go back

I love these crash course videos. Keep them coming.
Her drives are so damn crispy 👀👀
Great place. The owner wanted to join pine valley and Augusta but was denied. Screw you I’ll build my own.
course looks so cool. that driveable par 4 with the two routes looked really awesome
The practice facility at World Woods is spectacular!
That place looks fun!!!!
I play here at least once a month. Two of my favorite courses for the Tampa Area.

The layout is phenomenal i love this place, if it was nearer civilization would be $100+ all year round
I don’t know which Texas hill country Tron is talking about here. This reminds me of the piney woods area north of Houston.
The other course not featured is much more that feel. Neither really feel like a Florida course at all.
Laurens swing is absolutely butter
You guys need to come to Wind River in Laurel City TN. A real gem and my new favorite TN course.
Not too far from sweetens either
Played it many, many years ago, then again, many years ago. Think I’ll go back soon before the new owners redo it.
I’ve played those tracks and they are exactly as described. Would 100% recommend for anyone in the Tampa area.
Also right near here is Southern Hills plantation. A really nice Pete Dye that is under $100 too!

@ No Laying Up - you guys should come back and revisit when Cabot Citrus Farms opens in ‘23. Would be another great Film Room activity.
we very much plan on it.
Y’all need to play Windswept Dunes! It’s in Freeport, FL. I live an hour away and it is worth every minute of the drive.
Or Blackstone in Defuniak Springs

6:35 - don't worry about your divot, Neil! :)

Yup, they had a freeze early in the year and it killed the overseed.

15 is my favorite hole. Your footage of 14 was from 13 though.
The opening is my daily round
That course looks so much better than Streamsong 😍
Nice!
Is Tron going for the homeless look? He’s nailing it.
This course seems so peaceful, its too congested where I play
Good morning!
Calling a piney wooded area similar to the texas hill country is highly questionable
The other course not featured is much more Texas hill country in feel.
Lauren appears to have speed
Do you not have to replace divots over there?
Cabot... 👀

Pronounced “Cogglin” or “Cofflin”?
Dude put your divots back
We refill them with sand. Do you really want us to keep that in the video? I think that would make for some pretty boring content...
