These two are the most humble ultra successful rappers. Not super into their vibe or music. But every interview they do they seem so genuine and authentic. Respect to these two.
Hate them or love them they really are an obscure once in a lifetime type of thing. I’m not a huge fan of the music but what they have accomplished and built is impressive af and really paved the way for a lot of artists by using their blueprint.
I don't even really listen to these guys but their hustle is unmatched. They have an entire subculture of fans who are super dedicated to them and they really did it all by themselves as independent artists and grew this huge empire. Anyone in the music business should admire what they've done with their brand. It's absolutely insane. Even in the 90s they were doing this and even when everyone hated everything they did they still kept going and growing their independent fanbase.
Some of the “old school” ICP songs were catchy as hell!!!! Regardless of how you felt about them or what you thought of them lyrically, they without a doubt, along with Mike E. Clark have created some truly memorable melodies, hooks, choruses etc!! Between 96’-2000’ ICP was kind of a big deal! When The Amazing Jekel Brothers was being promoted in the summer of 1999, Insane Clown Posse were easily one of the biggest and most popular groups at that time. They were HUGE!!! I miss those days.
Why are the Clowns given this Kev dude any shine? Kev Throws dirt quite often on I.C.P. He'll bring them up to a guest who has never heard of I.C.P. play something for like 30 seconds for the guest. But talks over it and then talk shit about Juggalos as a whole. WhoopX² MMFCL 💚 🤘 💚

I've never really been a fan of these guys but after hearing them on a few interviews over the recent years they're pretty cool and entertaining guys. 🤣
Lemme tells ya sumthin'...Shaggy and J are alright dudes. Straight up. Not gonna lie. Though I do miss Shaggy & The Creep episodes. I been trying to get them over to Cafe de Rene with Rene Dupree & James, but they pretty much covered their thoughts on the Vinny Mac/WWE thing.
Saw them at The Grove, in Aneheim, '04. My girl and I had towels on the seats and gallons of water to rinse ourselves off after the show before we got in my car. Two girls walking out with us, "Ugh there's soda ALL IN MY HAIR!", they're SOAKED. My girl and I look at each other, laughing so hard, "It's an ICP show, what did they expect?" This was our first show, but the internet existed. I had already known what to expect.
I haven't played an ICP tour, but about two times a year for the past three years, I play the Penn Canna fest and the kottonmouth kings are always on the bill, and the juggalo folks come out, many of whom are vendors. As a reggae, jazz and Latin musician, Ive always had my reservations about their crowd of fans and the juggalo family. All I can say is that Workaholics nailed the juggalo episode. I never get looked out for better than when they are on the bill, the fans are gems, and while there may be a few people on leashes, everyone is free to be themselves. The tech9 street team people were there and talked to me and were extremely nice as well. Now I see ICP and their extended family kinda like Hip hop's Gwar. Showmanship, debauchery, s** and violence as a gimmick and a real core of kinship, love of the art, and unity. I used to joke about playing the Gathering one day ironically. Now it's a bucket list show and I'm daydreaming about how to faygo proof my keys and guitar in case I get on their bill one day.
The one thing I'm shocked nobody seems to talk about including ICP themselves is how they laid the blue print for Beyonce to have the bee hive and Taylor Swift to have the Swifties with them creating the Juggalos years ago
He did try his best to not give a single fuck about the whole interview. Seems like he had zero questions prepared and just asked the simplest ones on the spot.
I remember as a youngin I ran into Jay at a bar my mom worked at in so cal it was just us there his ppl and me and mom's dude cool asf been down since grade school so that was super dope 🎉
"To the piggies station and lay on the lawn. First piggy out we blow his lungs out his uniform." I swear shaggy went hard on that one. Always an old school favorite!
ICP is on the list for Aftershock in California. I hope they stay on it and are there. Get to see the Juggalos make a showing! I've always wanted to see ICP.
I remember and I can't remember where I got it, probably Spencer's but there was an icp can soda or something, lost that and the autographs from icp and twitid when my house burnt down in my teens.
Shaggy has gotten a lot more engaging on the mic in the last few years. A lot of old interviews are carried by J, but now Joey is droppin one liners left & right. Always a great interview.
One time Shaggy was doing a solo show and a Juggalo from the crowd got on stage and threw a half assed drop kick like Shaggy did to Fred and security got the kid real quick and Shaggy said no no yall chill out he just pulled a me lol.
Hopefully they will do a first deck of Joker cards show up by Philly, Nj & NYC area!! I have seen them 5 times since I was 12 but it almost past time for my son who just turned 16 FOR REAL!!!
I do not like rap music and I'm not a fan of ICP..but I find their story and whole thing fascinating. .They do great interviews and you have to admire the successful career that they built on their own. Their label and success is very impressive. THey did it all while the rest of the world was laughing at them.
Yeah I said the same thing, him and that other wack rapper from Detroit were talking mad sh*t about juggalos and Kev tried to with jellyroll and jelly shut that down.
Over the years shaggy has just grown as a person, you can tell by how he talks, you know what im sayin 😉? And through the years Jay has tried over and over to clean up, but over the last few months he seems like hes slippin again, I hope I'm wrong, but dont give up Jay, keep pushing
I still remember when these guys were just starting out and would drop off tapes personally to all the local records shops. They would always sell out of tapes and we would ask them when you getting more and they said we called them and they would send some over soon and people would be calling everyone saying the ICP Van is at the record shop it was a black van with a huge ICP on the sides with joker cards for promotions after they got big they had some guys in the van dropping off tapes to All the local shops. We had a local car thing where people would drive around and bump them subs and show off. ICP had a Geo metro with stickers laid out like a wrap with ICP promotions all over it just bumpin there music showing it off. Hung out at party's they were I met them a couple times but nothing rememberable just in passing really quick they only cared about the girls in fact the girls would invite them it's why they showed up like a quick little meeting and they were all about the girls. Growing up listening to these guys ringmaster and carnival of carnage and the colored tapes where different because the tape's always come see through or clear from the main stream music but ICP and ESHAM and some other Detroit underground music was doing that but nobody else was from Gold to Red or blue or green it was different. I really only like the first 6 because I'm just as old as they are but I don't have any problems with anything they do. They were a big part of My life living out in the way way way outskirts of Detroit only 30 minutes away from me depending on traffic.
One of my best friends was a pro wrestler. He never made it big, but going to all them VFW and Bingo Halls I met some wrestling characters. Tony Atlas was a maniac. He would try to befriend little young white boys and try to "court" them

Basic-ass safe comment. Their music is the best part.
Their music is poetry compared to current garbage & the shady scumbags doing it. ICP was always unfairly hated.
