“From authority to authenticity” I’ve always been enamored with Mike Rowe’s vocabulary enough it enticed me into continually improving mine similarly. This phraseology truly demonstrates his avant garde, it’s just so profound. Definitely stealing this.
One of my favorite interviews Mike! Like two parallel lives. I laughed at you two finishing each other sentences. And, Loved the Bear story but was more surprised to hear someone, other than my family, say Fallen Leaf Lake (my yearly childhood, two week camping summer vacation.

Appreciate the trip down memory lane with Paul Lynde! The Paul Lynde Show was a FAVOURITE of mine. And his voice acting of "the wolf" during The Banana Splits Show, where the sheepdog would always beat the wolf before he could get the lamb. For me, in the list of iconic voices: #1 Paul Lynde. #2 Mike Rowe. End list.
I bought a hoodie the day after the debate that says they're eating the dogs, theyre eating the cats they're eating the pets... I get a lot of good laughs, making friends and influencing others🍻💯MAGA
I learn so much from so many of your podcasts but this one was pure entertainment. Being about your age, so much of the memories and songs and events resonated and I laughed so much. I’ll enjoy watching and hearing it for the second time!!
Sounds like a sweet relationship with his kids. Really enjoy this so far. I saw Sammy, Liza and Sinatra. I was young but I remember Sammy blew them away.
There has been an abundance of great content on this podcast, especially lately. These conversations just suck you in. It’s my happy place. Keep going, Mike!
I Love these Guys..., One of My favorite early Movies of Rob Lowe, was About Last Night..., and Yes Mr. Lowe Your curiosity keeps Us interested. Thank You Both Lowe and Rowe.
I've always Loved Robs work, from the Brat pack days to the Netflix stuff with his Son. Now to find he has a Podcast? I'm one HAPPY Aussie :-) The Bloke is a legend!
Listening at 5 hoping the soothing sound of Mike’s voice would help me fall back asleep and I ended up listening to the entire podcast. Loved every minute!
GenX Rob Lowe has always been and will always be my Star Crush-About Last Night (favorite and brilliant) St Elmo's Fire sexy bad boy! I love how he is with his children AMAZING
Rob Lowe is still a very good-looking man . I loved those movies . I reckon he has been black listed from Hollywood because he isn't politically correct.
Your Barbershop signoff is one of my favorite parts! Just kidding. But I do like it. Maybe it's in my blood. My grandfather used to sing in Barbershop and Gospel quartets.
Good thoughts on risk taking. I think we're still as open as ever to taking physical risks but taking social risks (free speech) has become quite treacherous. It's getting better as more push back on the nonsense but the chill/cancel threat is still there.
🌼 David Hughes my neighbor was actually dancing on 🎶 American Bandstand we all watched on :) tv…maybe late’60’s his address was probably 7427? South Puget Sound…pretty cool coincidence 😘
Firstly,, have always enjoyed Rob's movies. I always chose to ignore the negative stories. Listening to the guys talk about Sammy Davis,, that was awesome. Sammy Davis, as much as we the audience enjoyed his mastery of entertainment never really got the recognition he deserved. He was absolutely magnificent.
I actually listen to it 2x IHEART could not believe what I missed first time around, sometimes you hear and don’t hear at same time, keep up the good times it surely seems more like having fun than working
When Rob was describing his hosting The Floor to Mike I understood how he did the banter on The West Wing. Satisfying comfortable voices with intelligence is an art form.
Brooo.. I finally saw the news stories that were hidden.. someone suggested that Mike Rowe be the vice president.. ! Congratulations.. hopefully we get it next time
I loved your bear in the woods story. Kismet? Synchronicity? Perhaps SIGNS!!!! Mike Rowe - I call them SIGNS and even wrote a book about it that I know your mom has in her possession. SIGNS - The Veil is Thinner Than We Imagine! Check it out. All the very best to you and yours for the holiday season.
I have to say, rather disappointed in what Rob Lowe son said about the whole cat dog thing and playing it safe. We have to be able to make these jokes. And most likely there is some truth to it.
Young Matthew giving Mike and Rob advice about "taking chances, risk" was not very well received by some of us. Mike and Rob have been "risk" takers their entire - VERY SUCCESSFUL (by tha by) - careers.
Glory!!! After so much struggles i now own a new house with an influx of $115, 000 every month God has kept to his words, my family is happy again everything is finally falling into place. God bless America.🙌🏻
YES!! That's exactly her name (Kate Elizabeth Becherer)so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her from ☺️Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦
You may know this by now. The political aspect to people in Springfield eating pets may center on diversion of attention. People are distracted by this story so that they have no idea about the problem of a particular group of people being homed in Springfield by government agencies'. Largely without anyone's knowledge, this group is moved in (by the thousands) given extreme financial support and then not held accountable for their misdeeds simply because they don't have access to translators. For instance, many of these people don't know how to drive or don't know our traffic laws (or just don't care about them) they are extremely dangerous on the road. When one causes an accident or nearly does, gets pulled over and ticketed, the court case gets dropped due to lack of translator access. That's if it gets that far. There are videos of accidents in which someone from this group is told to just go on with no ticket or accountability. This is just a tiny example of the havoc hitting the city and surrounding areas. But, this problem and the government involvement gets passed over with the cat eating "crisis" taking center stage.
We're x-y axes Beings living a grid geometry life in this realm. Parallels, intersections and _coincidence_ (so often, erroneously, relegated to 'random chance'). Only One sees and moves on z axis, above the grid. 'Everything happens for reason' is a truth, if by either active cause or passive allowance, due its deserved glory. I believe these revelatory moments of awareness to be, solely, a personal dispensation given to show you that He is here and sees. Everything else is just added on to that.
What goes on at 1:26? There is a brightness that happens between the work ethic poster and the picture behind Mike’s head - twice! Anyone know what that is??
I was like 10 when i first saw this dude on full house. I now look 30 years older then him... Seriously, what kind of black magic shit is this? Im worried you sold your soul to the devil Rob, not worried about you, but that there is actually a devil...i mean look at you, jesus i would have done it too 🤷 Good shit Mike. Loving the episode so far. I have also had to run from a bear, back into my house from my porch...this beast was inbetween the fence of the deck and the hot tub at 8 o'clock in the morning...dropped my coffee cup and shit my pants, not necessarily in that order, and ran like hell back inside. No further then 10 ft away from me, barely awake, stood up probably a good 8 or 9 ft paws like catchers mitts... I could have pushed out a diamond in that moment Mike
Mike Rowe has that blessing of storytelling that keeps you locked in on every syllable. Toss in Rob Lowe and this is Golden.
Agree!!
Love both these guys!
Mike Rowe with the cool soothing voice, and Rob Lowe a big favor of mine, totally normal guy after going through Hollywood 👍
Two of my favorite voices!
The most fun, complete interview I have ever watched and enjoyed. Thank you. I hope he visits again.
Such fun! I totally had a poster of Rob Lowe on my wall back in the day....😂
First Nathan and now Rob, the last few podcasts have been fire.😅

Fallen Leaf Lake is a hidden gem! We went as a family every year as a kid. I’m now 52 and still remember that place.
Love your show Mike!
Rob is absolutely right, there was nothing like growing up in the 80s.
Unless you grow up in the 60s...lol
Rowe & Lowe!!! Absolutely loved this chat!! Thanks fur the stroll and laughter down memory lane! ❤

Speaking of David Niven's book "The Moon's a Balloon", he also wrote another memoir called "Bring on The Empty Horses". Great books.
Well done. This might be the best interview that I ever listen to.
I learn so much from so many of your podcasts but this one was pure entertainment. Being about your age, so much of the memories and songs and events resonated and I laughed so much. I’ll enjoy watching and hearing it for the second time!!
Love you both!!!
Sounds like a sweet relationship with his kids. Really enjoy this so far. I saw Sammy, Liza and Sinatra. I was young but I remember Sammy blew them away.
With regard to taking chances, you should read a book called “The Anxious Generation”. Incredibly revealing.
I really enjoy your work.
Thank you.

It's my happy place too!

Fabulous conversation! Mike I love your stories, Rob, what a breath of fresh air! Now I have to find your podcast!
How does Rob Lowe look so young?!?!?
Gave up drinking! That crap ages you big time
V-C? 😁
@@Redhead155omg please stop 😱
@@chadwick634,she is correct. Rob Lowe did give up drinking. He fell in love with his makeup artist and married her .
I've always Loved Robs work, from the Brat pack days to the Netflix stuff with his Son.

I'm one HAPPY Aussie :-)
The Bloke is a legend!
Perfect description, "A Legend."
Listening at 5 hoping the soothing sound of Mike’s voice would help me fall back asleep and I ended up listening to the entire podcast. Loved every minute!

How many Lowe's could Rob Lowe rob, if Rob Lowe could Rob Lowe's?
😂😂😂
Rob Lowe could rob all the Lowe’s that could be robbed if Rob Lowe could rob Lowe’s.
Excellent conversation. Hello from Baltimore!
Would love to see Rob back on the Orville!!! 🥰😎✌🏼
"At Ease: Stories I Tell to Friends" is a 1967 autobiography of Dwight D. Eisenhower. You should read that one, too.
Keep up with the barbershop harmonies… I love that you end every episode with barbershop! One of many things I love about this podcast…
Love both these guys. Real people in entertainment. Rare.
James Earl Jones is my fav voice ❤
The last words I hear will likely be “Honey, are you sure you know what you’re doing?”
*LOVED* every moment of this podcast! Rob’s great, with terrific stories to tell. And you Mike, are a national treasure! *Subscribed*
Your Barbershop signoff is one of my favorite parts! Just kidding. But I do like it. Maybe it's in my blood. My grandfather used to sing in Barbershop and Gospel quartets.
You two are awesome. What a fun interview. Rob Lowe makes me smile.
I love every moment of this.
That was one of my favorite interviews ever. Thank you!
On this episode Mike Rowe serenades Rob Lowe to "Springfield snack time" a catchy tune set to "Misty Mountains"
Best interview. Rob Lowe is a favorite of mine.
Lol it took me a second, but I was like "wait, they're related." 😂
OMG… when I was three, I, too, asked my daddy (in this case, my actual father) to take me to Omaha to see all the animals.
Authenticity... I have never been chased by a bear, but I can commiserate with Rob's character in unstable... in a more stable manner of course
Holy baseballs Mike, you and Rob hit it out of the park!!!!!🎉🎉🎉 I feel spent! Whoot!
Good thoughts on risk taking. I think we're still as open as ever to taking physical risks but taking social risks (free speech) has become quite treacherous. It's getting better as more push back on the nonsense but the chill/cancel threat is still there.
Rob not a dodgers fan but am an Ohtani fan and as a 50+ yr Red Sox fan I love & thank Dave Roberts!
I loved "Brian's Song"
🌼 David Hughes my neighbor was actually dancing on 🎶 American Bandstand we all watched on :) tv…maybe late’60’s his address was probably 7427? South Puget Sound…pretty cool coincidence 😘
53:55 Exactly. Authenticity and Honesty are the currency of the internet age. It holds value because everything is so easily faked.
😮 enjoyed two of my favorite entertainers and men , you both always seem humble 👌🙌
That was a great conversation!!!
🌼 A perfect example..Our children are the better of us :) 🥰
Love Rob,what a down to earth guy😅
Such a great conversation! Love Rob Lowe and Mike Rowe! ❤

This was so fun!
Mr. Lowe does not look 60…gosh, he looks so much younger!
What a fantastic interview! Bull Durham…
I literally feel like a fly on a wall at a party I want to be at. Thanks Lowe & Rowe.
You have to wonder if Jeff Bridges didn’t leave the podcast and ask himself “why didn’t he ask me anything about the Big Lebowski???” haha
! Congratulations.. hopefully we get it next time
Mike, the jingle at the end is Gold!
Great show
Refreshing to have two famous people translate as so dang authentic. You’re welcome, Rob Lowe.
The Charley Weaver had a store in Gettysburg, PA . . . I always wondered why he was famous?
🌼 Tom Brady from an ole AARP? Has a beautiful, lavender morning slushy..Very healthy
🍀👍🍀😊great segment, great guest.
Rob Lowe being impressed by someone else's voice.
You missed the connection of talking about Presidents and that Rob Lowe was on The West Wing…
Enjoyed the interview 😊
Have enjoyed so many of your interviews this is definitely in the top 5!!

My celebrity crush, well like both of them, actually. And John Stamos.
Sam Seaborn! My favorite TV character. Toby Ziegler is a close second.
I have to say, rather disappointed in what Rob Lowe son said about the whole cat dog thing and playing it safe.
We have to be able to make these jokes. And most likely there is some truth to it.
It’s criminal someone looks like that at 60 AND be a good human being at the same time. Choose one man!
🌼 agree

Nice.
