She wasn't only a wrestler but an iconic female during the Golden Era of pro Wrestling in the late 90s and mid to early 90's...she came from a pro wrestler family dynasty of Wrestling...she was a legit badass and iconic. Luna would be so proud of her boy!
Luna had it absolutely right in her character. Pro wrestlers are larger than life, and Luna nailed it. She's also the pro wrestler who needed a hug the most.
When I worked in health retail back in the day, Luna and Gangrel walked into the store and I had to do a double take. I was like, am I really seeing them in birkenhead. They were in town traveling with a small independent wrestling company. There are such nice people. They took the time to chat and have a photo. So much respect for them both.
Luna definitely made Sable shine in the ring….but Luna didn’t draw, which is why Vince never cared to give her credit. Wrestling’s a business, & it’s all about the bottom line. Sable was pretty much useless on the mic & in the ring, but she got ratings & sold merch. Luna was great on the mic & in the ring, but didn’t draw a dime for WWE.
What makes it touching and sadder is that Owen Hart went up to Luna and told her she did a good job after her tag team against Sable while the majority of the roster ignored her.
Luna scared the heck out of me as a kid. I had the Coliseum Video version of WrestleMania IX, which included extra footage of Luna attacking Sherri in the first aid room. That was a tough scene to watch, with Sherri gasping for air and Luna going nuts on her. Sherri sold it like a champ.
When I was a kid I did not know anything about bipolar or mental illness. Nobody talked about it. I met Luna in grade school and we became close friends, then we went to high school together. Looking back I certainly understand now. She could be the sweetest, mellow, quiet person and then flip becoming totally aggressive. Trudy is what I called her. Drug abuse intensifies the symptoms of bipolar. Even people who were mentally normal before can develop bipolar disorder but in Luna's case I see now that she was showing signs from an early age. Mr Vachon would give Trudy 100 $ for lunch money lol Back in the 70's that was crazy cash for a teenager to have in their pocket. All Trudy wanted to do was party, and that is exactly what we did. Mr Vachon did not know. He thought he was being nice is all. He was a busy man but hanging around the family it was obvious that he loved her even though she was not his biological daughter. We were on the track team at school and also took swimming lessons together. Trudy was very athletic even as a young girl. She was also very pretty with a sweet voice ( back then ) Can't help but wonder if she would have had a better and happier life if she would not have went into wrestling. R.I.P My Friend
Her sleeping for 3 days has nothing to do with drugs. It has to do with when a manic episode ends it causes that person to crash, sometimes for several days.
@@AnAdorableWombat1 Some of you have clearly never seen anyone who's bi-polar. That's good-- but without the drugs, they definitely go through days to weeks of "up" and then they crash for days/ weeks. It's a crazy and very sad thing to watch somebody go through. The drugs actually makes them feel better at first-- then they suck, just like with anybody else. But a lot of people that end up with drug problems start off self medicating. Same with alcohol.
4:50 - 5:21 Damn, like, you gotta respect Van for being able to go through that as a kid. Knowing the fact your mom attempted suicide like that is something truly traumatizing.

Luna was actually a little bit of a hottie outside of the paint and crazy hair. I was always fascinated with her as a kid. I thought that her crazy yelling and gravely voice was funny. Remember that one time she smacked that one ref in the head all hard. I remember seeing some stuff years ago about her mental health. Sad stuff.
I'm proud of her son. I grew up in a similar situation, just not on the famous side. My "Father" taught me a LOT on how to be a man. Just do the opposite of what he did as a husband and father.
It's sad WWE just sh*t Luna away & never give her a title shot. Sherri Martel was one person you would never hear Luna talked bad about, I think Sherri was her wrestling sister.

@nosoyallowed828goofy right? They know little to nothing about the guy, but because he’s not screaming & cursing at the camera, he’s automatically a “good guy” 😂
