I respect your opinion, but at the same time I think it's important to realize that the original PMMM ending was not complete. It was a hopeful ending but one that had many missing elements to it. Rebellion covers all of these questions that the original ending left behind, despite not answering all of them. The original series points out the faults with the Wraith system and how the LoC was not a complete solution to the original witch system. Kyubey is curious and shows interest in learning about this past system and Homura is shown to still be in despair. Rebellion covers this issue and Homura's recreation of the entire universe as another way to fix the system, but she's left unsatisfied, and as shown from the Clara dolls, unable to love herself and what she has done. The conclusion of Rebellion is the opposite of the original PMMM and still leaves some questions, which is why we're seeing movie 4 come out, which will most likely finally give this series the answers it deserves.
well with how the Rebellion movie ended a sequel was pretty necessary. we've been left with this odd ending (not saying it wasn't good, I loved it. it was obviously teasing a sequel tho) for years so a new movie is great news
Honestly I would've been fine with 3 being the ending. Yea it was technically grim, but I thought it fit pretty well with the idea of false hope and sacrifice.
I don't understand what's wrong with the spinoff though. Most of them focus on entirely new characters in a different setting, they are technically a "new" product that doesn't ruin the original PMMM because they had nothing to do with it. Why are they being lumped in with the Pachinko games?
I'm hype for the continuation, since I always wanted to see what would happen post-rebellion. I could do without all the other shit they've thrown at us though.

Ad I stated madoka is a popular brand so it makes sense to make things like merchandise and other outside media, that's how it's it is and will continue to be. They would be foolish not to do anything with it.
I'm very excited for the continuation, not only for the story but especially to witness once again SHAFT's craziness when it comes to the main series. Magia Record was kinda lackluster because Shinbou wasn't Chief Director but still delivered good stuff nonetheless. Looking forward to its second season which apparently is going original route so I'm even more excited!
Let me just go ahead and dislike this real quick. Like it or not madoka is a BRAND. Don't like it to bad. I for one love it, it means more madoka which is always a good thing. Imagine madoka in blazblue cross tag or a madoka fighting game with a cool story like persona4 arena, it would be dope
He literally said Madoka is indeed a brand, though. He knows that. What he's saying is that all the extra material muddled Madoka's presence and hype, because Madoka wasn't originally meant to be a multi-media franchise.

Milking an original and genre defining series to the ground is never good for any series madoka would be objectively better if it truly ended after its first season since you cant replicate that and you should not even try.
