When Eminem was super popular back in the late 90s early 2000s so was Britney Spears, Backstreet boys, NSynch, Cristina Aguilera Also Numetal bands such as Lincoln Park and Limp Biskit and New age/Techno artist Moby. Emenim was at odds with a lot of them. It was usually because of a comment they had said about him during an interview or such ☺
With Eminem you either love him or hate him there's no middle ground. Me, I love him. His songs can either make you laugh your backside off, make you cry, or really make you think. As for Chris Kirkpatrick he was in N'Sync (my Daughter was huge in the boy band thing until she found my Green Day CD.) I love metal myself but I'll always love Eminem.

“Without Me” was on his album “The Eminem Show”, which as released 2 years after his previous album. I wouldn’t call it a hiatus, but there was a little time between.
On the topic of new rappers, the thing I like most about Kendrick is his lyrical versatility. You can hear him drop a song that sounds like it came right out of 1994. Then you see him switch it up and do something modern. And each time his words are powerful, his imagery is amazing. Plus his freestyles are legendary.
Many on this thread already mentioned who the reference names are in the song. It’s totally a dig at all the pop bands at the time and the criticism he got from media. .... you all criticize me but “it would feel so empty without me!” He was wildly popular and for me it’s because he was so real and gritty.... that’s what made him great! No apologies for being a white rapper or being from a trailer park or having a terrible mother. Big kudos to Dre for recognizing this and helping Eminem with his career!
I still love that D12 pops up in Em’s videos. I remember the first time I started seeing them and then I started looking for them everywhere in his videos. Fun little Easter eggs in his videos.
Sweet summer child hearing this for the first time. The internet has existed your entire life and you just now are on this? Reevaluate. That thing at 5:12 is called a CD, we used to have to buy those to listen to music.
Eminem is a genius. He created 3 versions of himself. Eminem, Marshal Mathers, and Slim Shady. Eminem is lyrically impressive in any way and is generally just all about filling bars. Marshal has feelings, his music is about whatever is on his mind and where his mind is at the time. Shady is just insane and is just shock rap. As long as he lived in those three personas he could compartmentalize and we all knew what to expect based on how he was introduced. But no matter how he presented himself, nobody wanted to mess with him in a beef.
The D12 Album dropped in between the Marshal Mathers LP and The Eminem Show Album hence "guess who's back" , In my opinion this song Without Me is the best and his peak for greatest song he ever wrote.
Lowkey is a UK GOAT. He’s an OG but he’s still GOAT now. Check him out. He did a ‘Daily Duppy’ only last year. I recommend ‘The return of Lowkey’ too. For his older stuff check out 200 bars of power, Alphabet assassin ft someone beat boxing (sorry I forget his name but he’s good) and his FITB’s. You probably won’t have heard of him because no label owns him so he can say what he likes. But that comes with no radio play or marketing. And his stuff is controversial cos he calls governments out which they don’t like. Checkout ‘Obamanation’ 1 & 2 and ‘Terrorist?’. I have 2 of his albums. Any song you pick will be good. I warn you though ‘Ghosts of Grenfell’ 1 & 2 you might want to do a bit of research into the Grenfell tower fire tragedy first it’s sad and so is ‘Ahmed’ both are tragic true stories and might need tissues.
I don't agree with some of his opinions on some people, but I respect that's he speaks his truth. The epitome of keeping it real. Sure there's something to be said for being diplomatic, and saying you like other celebrities even when you don't actually get along, but there's also something to be said for saying what you feel. It takes all kinds. And I like that he doesn't back down and take things back or try to be different to appease the higher powers. Like being banned from MTV and rather than apologizing, kissing ass and vowing to make more appropriate videos and music that they will play to make him more money and fame, he just keeps doing what he's doing while throwing it in MTVs face. Now he has learned some lessons over time, and has apologized when he really meant it, and he has explained himself, like explaining that he doesn't really want to kill his mother like he sang about, but that it's a way of venting.

My absolute fav from this guy. What a talent.....🤘😎❤️🎼
Best rappers out now: Hopsin, Cole, Kendrick, NF, Joyner... there are more but my brain doesn't work right now
Bro Em stil here, soon more collabs.
@@Dzoni_187 for sure man, I'm a huge Em fan(he is even my favorite one) but this are new school rappers that are good.
@@jasicss Yea,they are good,Dax is not bad too but Tom Macdonald is cryngey asf..
@@Dzoni_187 don't know, I know who they are, but I never listened to them, never
@@jasicss I repeat,these are good,but not the best...
he always just did his own thing, could never predict his next moves
One guaranteed way to get the cross-hairs on you is to talk about his daughters!!!!
It was usually because of a comment they had said about him during an interview or such ☺
Please respond to Till I Collapse
With Eminem you either love him or hate him there's no middle ground. Me, I love him. His songs can either make you laugh your backside off, make you cry, or really make you think. As for Chris Kirkpatrick he was in N'Sync (my Daughter was huge in the boy band thing until she found my Green Day CD.) I love metal myself but I'll always love Eminem.
The "Without Me" break was literally just the time between albums; Without Me was the lead single that dropped before The Eminem Show.
Loved reaction and ty for doing this one because that was so many years since seen/heard it, laughed like a maniac. Hugs again as per usual from me in Sweden.
Eminem made his career based on clapping back at people who were shit-talking him, he is insanely good at it, and that's why he's one of the goats.
You know no matter how bad people say his album's he's right it's always empty without of him
Eminem is gold
Love this!
I don’t remember starting beef with specific people but he sure did finish it lol
He was gone for a little while cause he lawsuits and he was dealing with and the FCC was on his case at the time.
I am in my mid-50s and I was listening to rap before Em came on the scene. I also enjoy Kendrick Lamar, NF, Hopsin and now I am appreciating EZ Mil. Old and new artists. Keeps things interesting.
Hey man as someone who is trying to find his brand on youtube. Its so aswesome to see you blow up and find your groove. Love the channel man. old head here. Just loving the vibes
Loving your reaction so entertained keep up what you do much love
you see, young person, MTV was a television station that played music videos...
God Em is so unique and has the best sense of humor. It will feel empty without him one day. :(
I actually prefer Lil Dicky's sense of humor more. But Eminem's sense of humor is more iconic.
Its crazy how censored this video is compared to the original lol
Em's the best, this is such a fun video...He gave them what they wanted...Dont call out war with Em, and not expect a response...Never just attacks from no where...Love Em...Im an OG That loves the oldies and originals, but love seeing new talent come out. My Favs are NF, Dax, Savannah Dexter, Adam Calhoun, many others...But Im a music lover who loves every genre and style...Music is healing. Thanks James Peace
“Without Me” was on his album “The Eminem Show”, which as released 2 years after his previous album. I wouldn’t call it a hiatus, but there was a little time between.
Dude #1 reason to know Em is legit, Dr. Dre, invested. That Flow will always be influential!
Try "I am not Afraid" and then "Fall" you will see how masterfully Em can craft his lyrics, its out of this world
Eminem Show is a dope album. This song makes more sense when you listen to the album as it has a bit of a story to it.
He came back as 'Slim Shady' after he was done being 'Marshall Mathers' for a bit. Em has multiple personalities as a rapper.
Eminem is the man he he reinvented rap music took it to a whole new level excuse my French but he’s fucking amazing the best ever
I haven’t seen it listed as you reacting to it yet, but I love Sing For the Moment by Em where he samples Dream On Aerosmith.
this song was so good at its time....i enjoyed dancing to this.....the beat and lyrics were smartass
Eminem is greatest! He can wrap up things and let you listen to it, and you gotta unwrap it in your mind all that lyricist surprises
I would have to say Eminem has to be the greatest lyricist of these days
I remember when he performed this on an award show. Crowd went cray cray.
