This genre really doesn’t get the fucking respect that it deserves. [MGK] doesn't get to walk in as some weird substitute teacher and pretend that you can tell us what to wear ." I had no real issue with MGK prior to all this. Heard some of his songs on the radio and they were okay. They weren't my favorites, but I didn't switch the stations because it was good enough. He literally broke down Rap Devil, and in 15 minutes had this created that used his own lines against him. There is a reason in the late 90s and early 00s that you didn't go after Em because he was brought up in the rap battle scene and could flip the things you said and use it against you. I'm not so sure about that. Go back to the em and canibis beef starting in 98. MGK stuff was a sprinkle of one liners and compliments. He obviously thought he was more talented and fell short. You need to listen to killshot 3 or 4 times before the complexity sinks in. There isn't a word that isn't intentional in Killshot while Mgk was filler.....
Also in battle rap, it is 20 times easier to go second. You just take every line they spit and refute it, which is exactly what Em did. And he is the greatest MC of all time so it was always going to end bad for MGK. But you are exactly right best battle EM ever faced, props to Colson.
