These colleges are exempted from physical verification for extension of affiliation. Among the 29 colleges 15 are Government colleges and 3 are Government aided colleges. Only 11 colleges are self-financing private engineering colleges. Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore ( TNEA Counseling Code 2727 ) is one among those 11 colleges. These colleges are given this special privilege based on the number of departments accredited by NBA, Percentage of admission, Number of paper publication, Quality placement and few other parameters.
