GOD I miss seeing them live. They are hands down the best live band I've ever experienced. For a good few years, no matter what shit happened in my life, I'd go see the blackout every few months and forget all that shit and just have pure fucking fun. I miss that so much. They were also one of the few bands who priced tickets very fairly and affordable, something I always appreciated as someone in a low income household.
Gavin Butler is the biggest legend ever, i got to have a long chat with him one to one as it was after his sound check at the joiners for his solo set and honestly he is the most down to earth and lovely person. Later on, I watched as he put up with the waves of irritating scene girls crying in front of him when all he wanted to do was watch his mate's set, not only that, when i went to buy one of his t shirts he saw me empty my wallet in a mountain of change he told me to have it for free. boss
saw these guys back in the day at Middlesborough music live, the memories and still got my band frankenstein t-shirt i bought and signed by them somewhere in the house lol. great performance.
I met all of the blackout last night, found their tour bus and waited in the rain for ages haha gareth came out and gave us hugs to keep us warm and had a good old chat with them, he is so lovely :)
You also forgot to mention these awesome bands from the UK Heaven's Basement Deaf Havana We Are The Ocean Bury Tomorrow Heights Canterbury Kosheen Travis
You like him? The bloke is Hyro The Hero, he's from Houston, Texas, and is a Rap Rocker with two great full lengths ("Birth, Work, Sleep, Death" in 2011, and "Flagged Channel" in 2018) as well as three mixtapes ("Gangsta Rock" 2007, "Rock & Roll Gangsta" 2008, and "Belo Horizonte" 2009. My favorite song of his is "The World's Stage" off of Birth, Work, Sleep, Death.
It's mad to say they broke up at the peak of their popularity. I went to see them preform at King George's Hall in Blackburn during their farewell tour and they were absolutely amazing! I'd love to see them live again
