Hi Thomas, I usually start by sorting by color and taking out the edges. When I have enough nerves, I even lay them all out flat. This helps a lot when doing the puzzling but it also takes a ton of time. Wishing you all the best for your puzzle and be sure to tell me how it went. :)

How Long did it take
It took me a bit more than five hours to do it. That's the average time I need to do a 1000pieces puzzle.

@@puzzleworld4144 I have tried to do that for the sky and have finished the outline, its annoying they are all a similar shade but I will try that!
