I remember when my bird had metal poisoning his poops turned a bright green colour and were a bit more runny (he wasn't eating either so his poops slowly turned just white and clear), he is all good now and thankfully made a full recovery. Interestingly the green colour was almost identical to his poops when he was eating coloured pellets so i was quite happy he was not eating coloured pellets at the time as his poops would have been much harder to identify!
    Great video!!

Metal poisoning can also cause black poops or ones with blood in which is why it’s so important to get them checked out!

I fed my birds carrots and they pooped orange. They usually don’t eat so much carrot that their poop turns orange, but they didn’t like their pellets and were still transitioning to pellets, so they ate more carrots than they usually do. And I totally freaked out lol. I thought they were having internal bleeding or something. But no it was just carrots.

Thank you for this video, great information. It is all about poops with my budgies. One of them has bad kidneys so very often she just squirts clear water or sometimes it contains a little bit of urates, only rarely she has the normal poop. I have noticed the other two will have bright green, slightly loose poops either when they get hungry over night or when stressed. Then of course we look out for the beetroot poop - a good way to check whether they eat their chop or not

Thank you ❤ my baby is under one year and more on the leaner side (58-62 grams) since I give her lots of fresh veggies and grains on top of her Harrison’s organic mix. I was so concerned with her poop being too watery and having too much scattered white stuff instead of it being more consistent with tooth paste. I fed my little green cheek some live meal worms and more seeds and she’s a back to normal again

We have a 23 year old African Grey we inherited, we live in Los Angeles CA. Avian vets are SOOO EXPENSIVE here. The last time we took her it was $1500.00. Turned out nothing was wrong with her thank goodness. They only did minimum testing because I couldn't afford it. She's fine now but if something serious happens WTF will we do😢😢😢

I’m glad for videos like this because that’s how I first realized that my cockatiel was getting ill. He had bright green poops with polyuria and I took him into the vet and they put him on antibiotics for a bacterial infection. He’s getting better but still has polyuria and green poops, he had to go to the vet twice as the first antibiotics didn’t work so he had to have a shot. They said he had an ear infection poor guy, he’s been miserable and I’ve had him in a smaller cage with a heating pad for the past two weeks but today is the first day he wanted out and was singing a little so I think he is on the mend.
My vet also said to give him a probiotic so he’s been taking that in his water.
At one point he had shiny crystallized urates and I am glad to say that is gone now as I read that could be a sign of kidney problems.

I have a question, would really appreciate if you have any answer. I purchased a teil bird, she was very under wgt from the breeder, her poop used to hang like a noodle and not drop. We got her treated and it was ok for 2-3 yrs…now she is having an issue again and she also threw up food this time. Do you anything abt this situation?? @@BirdNerdSophie your thoughts are helpful already, we will get the test done..the upset happened right after she had sun flower seeds. We generally donot give our birds too many seeds, this one time on a sunday we did, mostly only fresh soft foods. This definitely could be the reason because of the vomit, I suspect. Can seeds cause indigestion??
Also what do you recommend for that if thts the case? God bless your heart for such quick response ❤️💐🥰💕😇, we hv tried to research it all over, but theres hardly any useful information we could find. I love her so much, shes part of my family..shes so heavily bonded she wouldn’t eat a meal without me or even play without me.
