Amazing footage shot by passionate angler and film maker Al McGlashan
I like Al’s approach. Sensible and relatable info, none of that glory boy stuff you get from some of the so called hi profile American channels. Keep it up Al.
Thanks mate I just love going fishing and filming it!
2:47 lol those marlin are too smart for those lures
Keep em coming Al, keeping us amused and vids are always worth watching 👍
cheers mate

awesome Al so grateful for your info. Never caught a Marlin but im trying. I put in a tunks Park
Hopefully this season Ill be seeing pics of you with a marlin boatside!
If money isnt too big a deal try a sharrow marine prop, really cleans up the wash its amazing. ~~ 4-5k a prop but honestly worth it
Thanks for the tips, get em boys
Thanks, Al and CO. Great stuff.
thanks mate
Awesome upload Al 🙌🙌
cheers thanks guys
Fantastic Al, lots of water out their, every little tip helps, what currents , temps, depth is good starting point
hope it helps!
Love the passion. Excellent !!
thanks mate
Awesome vid al, keep them coming 👍👍
Thanks 👍
I’ve still got an old two banga 90 but the 4 blade prop held soo much to clean off the wash. The ol Venus trolls great at 7-9 knots clean as
Awesome vid. What boat do You have?
Hi Al, very informative. Can't wait for the next vid. What is the best marlin lure to use in you opinion. Cheers Graeme
good Question but I havent got a favourite lure but best bait is a live slimy mackerel!
Hi Al, great stuff!
Do you slow at all after the strike?
Cheers
Yeah slow down but downs stop to avoid tangles!
What helps determine best areas to concentrate trolling on, ie what to look for on Bom temp and current ?
How far down the coast do you chase YT?
Water temp colour and current all play a role plus signs of life and especially bait. We chase them Down to bass strait
Hi mate good video, what sea conditions do you look for before going swell height and wind conditions 👍
calmer the better
Keep safe in the ocean!
Nice video,... now let me ask... if you were to target 100 -150 kg bluefin tunas, how do you set the drag on the reels (how many pounds for the strike, and I'm guessing you apply more pressure progressively as the fish wears out). It would be awesome a quick video on that matter! Thanks a lot from the Mediterranian!!
When we are targeted big bluefin we fish 80LB gear and fish 10-14kg irrespective for the fish we are fighting !!
When trolling spreader bars and skirts, is the objective to keep them splashing on top or a couple feet under the water?
yeah skirts and spreader bars are all surface oriented. dredges and deep divers are subsurface
Awesome channel! Does the 'don't troll into the current, go across' hold true for freshwater lakes too? I've done good pike and smallmouth trolling here in Canada but never considered this
interesting I am not sure but Id been keen to see your results
@@almcglashan right on, I'll get back at the end of next season with the results
@@OneWayToMachines Awesome looking forward to hearing !!!
Hi Al, I know this was released a while ago but in regards to not trolling into the current, if you have to generally head in that direction does zig zagging help to negate this phenomenon or do you just tend to motor up current and start again? Thanks,. John.
yeah thats the best option
That's 6 knots?
Great video
👊👍
except it was 7 knots😁
Hi mate thx for the video
I have just moved up to the Sunshine Coast from Melbourne and want to start chasing small tuna I use mono lines can you please tell me what size lines I need and what size leaders I need thx for any information.
Great video by the way.
For small tuna just 8-15kg is fine
@@almcglashan
Thanks for your help
Seeing this boat setup I was like yeap definitely an islander drive 500’ out for 500’ deep water
What are you setting your drag at, Al?
normally fish around 1/3 initially then push it up
Awesome Video! What rod do you use on the Talica 50? And what rating does it have?
I am running Shimano Tiagra 80 bent butts
Hi Al, you mentioned not not catching anything when trolling into the current, why would you not catch anything? Please excuse my ignorance if it's common sense.
to be honest I couldn’t tell you why its just something we have always noticed
Great footage Al, how far out were you?
around 300 fms but the fish moved out to 700fm when we filmed Fishn With Mates
Wouldn’t you typically run a “short corner” off the “corner”?
nah never run a short corner unless Im chasing blue marlin
Whats your reel of choice Talica 25 or 50
50
Super 👌👌👌👌😄👌
thanks
Hey Al & Team,
Really enjoy your content. Thanks
What sort of depth were you getting your fish and port are you fishing from? Love the boat I’ve been to the sydney agent Looking at the 650 htf. I would really like to see it in some shitty westerlies to see how it performs. Cheers Dan
This fish were in 300fms but a few days later the action was out in 700fm when we were filming Fishn with Mates
@@almcglashan Thanks Mate
Do you ever use Taglines ?
Nah tried them and ended up going back to clips
What outriggers
hookem carbon poles and reelax bases
please - NEVER. EVER. E V E R! apologize for getting excited about catching a fish, because if you dont whats the point!
haha yeah some of the trolls complained!!!
