  • Whilst reshaping my Bay tree / bush, I decided to take some cuttings and get more new, free plants.

    My bay tree stayed quite small in a container, although I have given it a bigger container a couple of times in the last two years. It is in it's 4th year this year.

      Brilliant, they arent the quickest growing plants but well worth the wait!

    One of my new neighbours has a big bay tree, I think I will take some cuttings for my kitchen garden.

    Thanks for the tutorial. What compost would you recommend for a bay cutting here in the UK

    Hey there trying to get caught up on some video watching, I noticed you weren't on my sub list anymore for some reason I rectified that and resubed, enjoy the growing season

    This is great! Have subbed. Currently trying to save my two bays. Any tips?? I think I have a drainage issue in the pots I’m using. Only one small hole in the middle at the bottom. Shall I drill some more holes in??

    The soil looks very moist that you are planting your cuttings in. How often would you water them?

    seems easy enough....I can't seem to keep a hat for more than 2 years. living in the northeast U.S. we need to bring them in for the winter and I'm doing something wrong.

      Mine goes dormant over winter to be honest and slows down, but there's that many leaves on it now there's always plenty to pick from over the winter months if I need to. Good luck with yours!

    I know this is an old video, but how did they do, Stew?

    • @PetalsonthePavingSlabs
      @PetalsonthePavingSlabs  4 года назад +3

      Hiya Tim, I remember them being slow to root, (at least six months before they started having roots, before then they sat in the pots looking quite alive but sign of roots) but once they did, they grew on well in the following year. I gave them away.
