How I Made This Effect for a Mura Masa Video (And How You Can Too)

  • Slit Scanning has been around since before the digital era of filmmaking (2001: A Space Odyssey most famously used it) - but chances are you know about this effect from either music videos or TikTok's filter.
    I'm going to show you how to make the effect, and what we did on the video to get it working right, as it can be kind of glitchy - buckle up!
    Secret tip: export this effect from After Effects' Render Queue, not Media Encoder. No idea why, but most of the time it fails from ME but works from AFX
