This tutorial is a few years old, I hope you're still making Photoshop tutorials - I like your style of explaining. Improving my skills at the program is on my itinerary this new year.
Hi Brendon. Thanks for this. I was trying to crop to my own dimensions and it was moving the whole crop. Being new at this you have helped me tremendously by showing the W.H. Resolution menu. thank you.
All of teh tutorials are great. There's one thing I have with cropping though. When I set a ratio and complete the crop, if I go back to that file and try to move the image within the crop the optionj ust isn't there .... for me anyway.
Hey, I was having the same problem, Just try selecting the image you want to move with Command+ T/ Cntrl+T and then try to relocate. Hope this helps!😁@@edinafarkas5919
When cropping layer, it's not working when I move the photo into the area ... says "Could not duplicate the layer because source and destination documents are the same."
Hi Brendan! Please, how do I move the handles on the crop tool independently? Drag only the left side without moving all the rest together, for instance? I've been searching for this information for quite a while and couldn't find it. Thank you :)
Hi Brendan, I hope that you will see this comment and answer my question, because I see you didn't really answer the questions in the comments. In the video, what you did In fact is to resize the image and not crop part of it (say from the center without the sky for example). I would love to know how to do a proper crop of a part of an image. Thanks
@@BrendanWilliamsTutorials Thank you for your reply, But you did not understand my question. I mean, for example in your video, if I want to cut the image of the glaciers, and crop out the part of the sky and leave only the glaciers. Without using concealment by a mask, etc., just a normal crop like in the simple office softwares.
All I want to do is line up 4 images in 1 photo and the crop tool is basically useless for layouts. Doing a layer mask? Other photo editing programs allow you to hold a modifier key like alt and grab a handler and trim the image. Photoshop is so frustrating you cannot do this
FRUSTRATION 😤😤😤 I'm struggling to crop a photo inside of my carousel in Photoshop... Every time I crop the image, it deletes the rest of my carousel??? What am I doing wrong here?
Photoshop is the most complecated BS I ever met, I wasted 1 hour trying to figure out how to crop image, thinking it is easier to edit with it. Something I could do on my phone in 5 seconds. HOURS AND HOURS AND I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO CROP AN IMAGE. I have this thing on - delete croped pixels, but when i click checkmark, and expand the area, those pixels are still there what BS

All good reminders, but the last section of cropping within a layer was exactly what I needed, thanks!
Seriously Editing on words is easier. They made navigation on photoshop way more complicated than necessary.
True😂
Photoshop is an absolute joke!!!
i was struggling with this so long and you were the only one that addressed this! thanks!
Thank you!, this tutorial is very clear and easy to follow.

Thnxx again😀
No problem :)
Awesome!!! 👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed!
how do I crop to the original size of the image if I don't use the original ratio one?
Thanks, Brendan. Is that tool also called the "Smart Crop tool"?
Great tips! Thank you 😊
No problem!
How do I reset it to the original size? Snap doesn't work.
this is stupidly complicated, but great video, i would have never figured this out myself
Photoshop hey? Lol it can be complicated sometimes
When I try to move my layer to fit inside the marquee area, it does not move the image and only creates a selection? Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Hi, I have the same problem. Do you know in the meantime what‘s wrong?

Thank you so much! I hate how photoshop painful to use and confusing... lol

You need to set the crop preset to width x height x resolution to be able to "free crop" like that
Every time I try to crop my image into the dimensions of 11 x 8.5, my image disappears
Couldn't you have used the frame tool to insert the image inside the frame? I mean, that is the perfect occasion to use it, isn't that?

If you want to crop only part of the image set the crop preset to wxhxresoltion and drag the side of the crop overlay you want to adjust.

facts 💀
Crop tool is nowhere to be found. Where did it go?

Me trying to learn how to crop 600x600 without getting 599x599 or 601x601
The tutorial: so this is how you can crop freely, MS Paint style!
all i want to know is how to snap the edges automatically.
Starts 1:29
thanks, but you can come faster to the point.

so there is no way to easily crop something on an other layer? is this a joke? :D The most needed tool ... and it can not be done
It seems as though I have the crop tool on and I can't get it to turn off. I've pressed escape, but it won't turn off. Any suggestions?
