    A common repair for a Makita DHR202 sds drill gets to many hot suppers.
    Brushed motors are more repairable and are a simpler design. But they also produce more heat so they cannot run as long or as hard as a brushless motor.

    I needed to do this but the switch was dying because the armature was bad, i replaced the armature, switch, brushes and piston o rings. 2013 machine going strong, well worth it

    Even a Makita has an awful chuck like this so that the drill bit wobbles like crazy :(

      Or the bit could be bent? It's not likely Dean would take his best one for testing hammer drills against a metal bench.

      It’s a chuck from 2016. When it was brand new it was fairly tight. That one saw some use and likely abuse.
