Even after seeing plenty of tacview demos of these concepts, watching you actually flying with, thru and cutting across the smoke trails was really very helpful. Fantastic resource. Thank you for making these!
Nice work. I've studied BFM quite a bit and was reviewing your videos as a refresher at the recommendation of a friend. You're doing a great job at explaining the geometry in an accessible way, keep up the great work.
Dude, I really did not like this video..... or the series.... I LOVE THEM! This is exactly what I have been searching for. Thank you so much! I think I'll be watching these over and Over for a bit. I just got my flight controls in the mail today so I am excited. I will be laking rudder pedals for a while as I have to spend a great deal of time in a recliner due to knee troubles so I'll have to deal with the twist stick. As an actual drone pilot I have actually been flying with my drone controller so the rudder has been the yaw on the left stick. This should be a real challenge!
That sounds like a challenge but good luck! I’m hoping to round out the series soon but real life just has a way of putting things off! I’m not on Discord too often but if you’re around the Tactical DCS channel any time and you see me online (tyro849) then don’t be afraid to say Hi, maybe we can even get a couple of sets in and help each other learn a thing or two! Thanks again for liking and commenting, means more than you think. ~Tyro
Hey Tyro, I would love that. I am going to get at least a little up to speed with DCS (I have no choice. Having knee replacement at the end of November. I should be at least a bit flight ready to fly with others, hopefully.) I will definately hit you up... at this time I sort of settled on BuzzSaw1005 for my call sign. My late fathers nick name was "Buzz" and the rest was his birthday.... I had to pick something and he came into my mind. the "Saw" part was trying to think of a flight logo! @@AIRWARFAREGROUP
Superb Work! Never seen someone describing the concept of Bubble so far. Thanks for the hard works! Mind if I ask how did you put that bubble on tacview?
Hi there, this is Juice, Tyro is unavailable to respond at the moment, but if you look closer at the center of the bubble, you'll see it was generated by placing a surface-to-air threat in the center of the space and those generate their own threat domes, both above and below the horizontal plain relative to the surface of the earth. I'll ask Tyro to clarify, but it's use of a non-function to represent the bubble and a good idea for the Tacview development team. We got them to add the Control Zone last year and I'll mention this to them next time we speak. Other items we would like to see to is a post, attack window, and AoA Units if not already added. Wish us luck!
Hey thanks for commenting and the compliment. Means more than you’d think. Juice is spot on the money - I had the AI fly a super-accurate turn and then modified the position of the AAA unit in 3D space to put it on the post, then I modified the threat radius to match the turn radius. Hopefully I can keep adding to these videos when real life permits me the time!
Hey Nigel, JUICE here. Tyro may be tied up, but I will jump on and port this mission over to the Caucasus map and upload it for you. Keep an eye on this thread for more information and I’ll post it when it gets online sometime soon.
This instruction is super. Now for my first baby steps in the mission editor ... I can't find how to change both aircraft in the tailchase mission to the F-5E. Any quick tips please?
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Maybe I put the file in the wrong folder? I put it in the …/Saved Games/DCS Openbeta/Missions. I can play with the F-18/F-15 combo but cannot change the aircraft types when clicking on them in the Mission Editor map.
If you are trying to change the other aircraft type for an AI adversary, make sure you deselect it as Player or Client...you'll have to give it a skill level. If the slot you are trying to change is Player/Client, it will only let you select the aircraft you own. Let us know if you get it going! ~JUICE
I downloaded the mission you got there, but it just doesn`t appear while I want to load it. Might be corrupt file? Can you upload it ones again? Thank you.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Oh, thats why I dont see it. I don`t have the nevada. Thank you. Is there any tutorial how to do single mission in the editor like that?
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP thx, but what I meant is, that AI does those circles (horizontal and verical), do I have to do waypoints for each flightpath change? I guess so, waypoint is the only indicator to tell the AI where to do (left, right, up or down), right?
