The '916' on the drummers shirt is supposed to reference the day The Pillows formed: September 16, 1989. He's wearing it because 1999, the year this song came out, was the bands 10 year anniversary

They're definitely more inline with The Pixies, especially on the album where this song comes from. There's two tracks called Backseat Dog and Kim Deal which are literally just homages to The Pixies
The pillows are quite similar to weezer with their pixies influenced power pop tho I see where ur coming from. I've always though of sawao as if rivers cuomo was japanese and listened to more britpop
This song is excellent. It makes me wonder about how many different songs I am missing out on because it is in a different language and/or the poetry and beauty of the song is lost in translation. I know this applies to a lot of non-English speaker since so much internationally released music are in English. Any thoughts?
WOAH hold up lol, we are fucking lucky to be blessed by the Foo Fighters they keep everything great about rock alive, I can say the same for both them AND The Pillows. now go listen to the foos first album to start.

24年ぶりに聞いたこの歌が、「あの雲の向こうに自分を連れ出すのは今の自分」なんだって気づかせてくれた。
24年ぶりに勇気をくれたこの歌に、心からありがとう。ピローズ最高ですね。
