Fun to see a dental scrap video. I've saved up several dozen grams of dental scrap over the last several years of extracting teeth and cutting them off to redo them. Even Porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crowns can have a significant amount of gold and palladium in them. There is plenty of money to be made in dental scrap, just send it to dental metal refiners and you can get great returns. high noble dental alloys will contain a minimum of 40% gold and at least 60% precious metals. There are even some gold colored, high palladium alloys that are only 2% gold, so just because it is gold colored, does not mean it contains lots of gold (argen Y+ alloy).

Cody, with your method in this video, I would say your gold bead there is quite heavily contaminated with platinum. If you look closely at the gold that came out of the crucible, it appeared there was something that didn't melt. Depending on the age of those gold crowns, there will be more or less platinum in the alloy. They didn't use quite as much silver as they did platinum and paladium, owing to the softness of the metal. Look up C.M Hoke's "refining precious metal wastes", it is an excellent read.
