Usually its a better idea to use Quick Start with an included top end additive to prevent washing the oil off the cylinder walls and rings. This is especially important if something has been sitting a while.
Yeah mine burned up the points too. All the time. So my peritronix has lasted 5 years now and everyone told me that they'd not last and were quite hostile toward the item lol
I have really liked it so far. It got to the point that every time I needed to start it I had to clean the points but the pertronix hasn't missed a beat
When the battery had low voltage I think that kept the electronic ignition from working and I left the gas on while the battery charged and I think it flooded a bit, maybe needle and seat not sealing. Since then I only give it 10-15sec after turning the gas on before hitting the key, haven't had a problem doing that
I don't know if it still has one in it, if it does I am impressed it still works since at the newest it would be ~20 years old. I'll try to remember to see if there is coolant flowing in the rad next time I start it up. I'd like to keep it, love the look and it seems to pull some dirt out

I remember towing a few trucks outta the mud near Hobart, OK with theis tractor. It was a 1956 that ran on propane.
Sounds good. The warmer they get...the better they run.

I put the electronic ignition (Pertronix) in my VW dune buggy back in the late 1990s....best thing I ever did. Still running today in 2023.
Your volume is really low in places.. I hope that you can rectify it on the next video. Keep up the good work
Thanks, will do
Gas valve turned on,,, are you applying choke? Did you put gas In It....

Amazon is cheaper for the same pectronix electronic ignition system
Yeah but I like supporting the specialized companies as opposed to amazon
Yes they have a thermostat. The 8N even had one. Do you want to sell that dust filter .?

Do you still have this tractor and would you be interested in selling it.
Yes, no due to sentimental value. It's a 1953 ford Jubilee if you are looking for one
Your positive terminal looks awfully close to the hood
yeah it's not ideal, that battery finally died after 9 years so going to try and find a smaller one for it
@@PracticallyStock A 26R battery fits perfectly.
12v negative ground? Or positive ground?
Or 6v?
