Kitties and kids and flowers??!! What else could we ask for??!!! ❤️💫❤️. Just adding…..I’ve been dealing with grief…depression and anxiety after losing my granddaughter and then my best friend puppy…..watching you every morning has been such a tremendous help for the last few years. I don’t know if you will get to read this but you have my heartfelt thanks for helping me get through this terribly hard time. It’s become a morning ritual for me to watch your videos. I can’t begin to tell you all how much it helps. ❤️💫🐶💫❤️. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I’m so sorry that you’ve lost your granddaughter and your little puppy. 💔 I lost my husband 14 months ago and my morning dose of Laura is so helpful for me too!
I know exactly how you feel. I’ve had some losses myself the last couple of years and GA has gotten me thru some very difficult days. I am very sorry for your loss and hope your pain will ease some with time. & I also hope you have a patch of earth to work in to help with your grief. 🙏🏼♥️

Yesterday while watching Laura and her Mum making cocktails I said to my SO "Ooo the garden lady I watch is making cocktails today" His reply "Not much use for you is it" (I don't drink) I had to point out "I don't garden either, but I watch her every day and miss her when she is gone".
I understand pruning so much better when you show these before and after jobs. Now, I need to show these videos to the deer who try to prune all year long. 😂

My hellebores bloomed for the first time in 3 years! I was giving it one more spring and if it didn’t bloom I was going to pull it. Apparently, it heard!

Seems when I planted Hellebores, I read a lot about the 3 years, root, shoot, toot. It is my 3rd year with mine and I see little buds in there.
My hydrangea standards flop every year. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

During my walk around my sub, I was admiring the early stages of a small boxwood hedge across their front porch. Turned out she became a Master Gardener after retiring and is a fellow GA fan! Then she showed me her pink hellebors with fat pink buds! What a thrill!. Mine is yellow and lagging behind just 3 blocks away! Nice to have a Laura fan to reach out to. We shared a laugh about the lemon n cocktails! What a lovely chat!
I could hear the trees go "Ahhhhh" when you cut them lose, just like my feet do when I take my shoes off.
The kids are adorable as always.

One more tip on hydrangeas... the new buds alternate opposing sides so with selective pruning one can really shape and form control the emerging growth. 😊💙☺️

As I sit here watching the much needed snow fall, there is something very therapeutic about hearing Laura’s pruners clipping away. ❄️🇨🇦
Wow! For winter their pond really is full of algae! *_THEIR POND DEFINITELY NEEDS SOME SHADE!!!!_* When you think about how algae grows, it takes plenty of sunlight for algae to bloom in nature like that. I didn't have any shade trees around my aquascape pond when I first had it put in (I live in Florida btw) and I had algae like crazy because 100% of the pond was exposed to sunlight. I bought some of those triangle sun shades to cover 80% of the pond and planted some trees I knew would take a few years to mature, and within a couple of weeks that algae was dying and once I got in it to clean the pond, I never had another problem with algae.
Enjoy how the kids play together. Those flowers coming up are so beautiful.

Could the children get any cuter! I simply am loving it when they appear.
The big tree nursery in our area will come and plant the trees for you. We appreciate thisas we are seniors. They always stake the trees with strips of burlap to tie to the stakes. I asked when we should take the stakes off, they advised when the burlap disintegrates, then you know it’s time. This usually takes a year to 18 months.
I don't know if you usually do this to your hellebores, but as mine start to bloom (they are in full bloom now), I cut back all the surrounding foliage so you can see the beautiful flowers. You don't have to "hunt" for them that way, and as you know, it takes little time for the spring foliage to come up.
So great to see the hydrangea pruning the last view videos. I have two that bloom on old wood and I’m always afraid to prune them.

Oh my gosh, your kids are so fun. I would keep my ticket from Samantha forever. And Benjamin's eyes on you are so funny. With that kind of wind, I would be up at night also. But I would be afraid of tornadoes here in Ohio.
Benjamin has such a wonderful imagination and Samantha is willing to go along with his idea of playing cops and doing it so very well. Your children are such a delight to watch and I love your interactions with them. You are always so encouraging. Thank you again for a wonderful video and I did learn about trimming panicle hydrangeas so I'll be able to to care for the hydrangea I planted at my church last spring. I still have the ticket from the nursery where I purchased it so I will refer to it for the type of hydrangea to make sure that it is a panicle.

snowdrops are up here, too but this is Wisconsin, so I expect them to get covered up again. One of our biggest snowfalls was winter storm Evelyn on April 14th for 2 days of non-stop snow. Happy Spring y'all.

I am so grateful for all of the pruning and clean up videos you are doing!! My hydrangea standard is going to be getting a slightly heavy pruning shortly, as well as my red twig dogwood, and I can do it confidently because Laura taught me how!!!

Lots of great info on those Hydrangeas. I love seeing the kids playing outside.
In the UK we Find that snowfalls establish very much better, and there is a much greater success rate, if planted 'in the green'. So I never plant bulbs in the Autumn, always buy 'in the green' in early February and plant immediately. It's also so satisfying to plant something at a time year when there is little else to do but clear up.

So many glower bed clean up videos! I love them. It reminds me of what needs taken care of in my own garden and gives me indpiration to get out there and take care of business. Doing it a bit at a time is key I think. It keeps me from feeling overwhelmed. Even if you just tackle a couple of shrubs and ten feet of ground a day you are still getting the job done. It is satisfying. I am a zone 7 and just tackled a shrubby 9’ crepe myrtle. It made me feel so accomplished!😂
Loved watching the hydrangea prune.i have yet to be courageous enough to plant hydrangeas. You make it look so easy. Maybe this year I’ll give limelights a try.

I agree. I'm in 4b MI and would love to start pruning but it is only Feb even though the temps are in the 40's but who knows what will change.

I purchased my first Pinki Winki standard last year. It is in a container and now I'm wondering about pruning. I have no idea what to do (I'm in KY). I'm glad that you showed how you handle your standards. It would be nice to see updates as the plants start to fill in.
