This is perhaps the best little surf film I've seen in the last 20 years. Graceful, evocative, inspiring, and terrifying. At least those dolphins live there, and know what's what. Those slabs at the end, my god. If I could travel through time, I'd stop over and over just to stand at the camera's shoulder that day.
I remember, many years ago , hearing stories about guys treking up the WA coast and having to wait days, weeks, for the swells to get tame enough to give it a go. Obviously these enthusiastic lads have gotten over all that and them some! It is 'RAW SURFING!'
WOW ! WOW ! WOW ! A brilliant and well constructed video showcasing love of surfing, love of waves, love of water, love of nature. No time wasting here. No 'selfie' talks showing the inside of a surfers nostrils. WOW ! I cried. Thank you so much for this masterpiece.
You've made a beautiful little movie about WA surfing Alasdair. Those raw deep blue water elements of power and energy. I lived there after coming from South Africa in '74/75 and although we couldn't do what you guys are stepping up with, nobody was there. A different kind of wild than Africa but totally wild nonetheless. Well done mate.
Spoiler alert ! Totally bias opinion ahead ! Pumping storm swells at Margaret River area and nearby slabs, miles of crystal beach breaks at the south east coast, thru the best beaches of any major city on the planet, north to Jakes and other desert reef breaks right up to Exmouth and the offshore bommies only cray boat crew and kitted up adventurers get to see WA is the best surf state by a country mile. Just wish I had another lifetime to do it all again !😎👍
Great video. Love the way it's all about the surfing rather than the individual surfer themselves. A lot of underground chargers going hard in some heavy and intimidating surf. Great filming and editing. Love it!
It was cool to see the dolphins having a go...probably spotted you lot having fun and joined in...it would be cool to encourage them, get them practising moves...
@@evancrown5657 did you not see them high fiving each other after a few successful waves...They do it for themselves (to feel the waves between their fins; ride the true power of nature becoming at one with the water around. Understanding its gravitas and flowing in its path, finally conquering danger that the sea offers)... socialising and having fun with their fellow Porpoise...😉
...next time they get caught hanging around high fiving...send a kite surfer jumping through the air over their heads...I would love to see the experssion on the dolphins face!
that's like saying you're too scared to cross the street because you could get hit by a truck. it's a part of life, but it's a really rare part of life. I know people who've never seen a shark in 30 years of surfing
