Nomad Sculpt - Making Ribbons or bandages for out Halloween Sculpt

- Опубликовано: 16 июл 2024
- This years Halloween piece is a Pumpkin Head I designed back in Inktober 2017. I inked the sketch and coloured it with Copic Markers and it's been on my wall ever since. I walk past it every day and decided this was the year I would sculpt it.
The character has bandages down his legs and this video is how I did that part.

I've done loads of videos in recent weeks about the newer features in Nomad and I managed to draw them all together in this Halloween project. As I me toned at the start of the video there are many ways to skin a cat in Nomad Scullt now: The curve tool, repeaters, profile features etc. It's iso versatile and there's loads of ways to do these more intricate parts.
Very helpful. Wish i watched an hour ago...
Tube tool + profile also 😉
Very cool! Thanks for the tutorial.
Great tutorial.
Nice.
great tutorial! I've been doing it the hard way, haha!
I love how easy this was to understand, especially as a nomad sculpt beginner! Could you use this same method to make things like ropes or water trails, or would there be an easier way to do those?
I have to say, that I did watch the video with sound disabled. So I might have missed the answer for my question, which is: Why don't you just use a curve with a profile? Way easier to handle + it should save you a good amount of polys. Greetings from Germany and keep up the good work.
I was just about to ask this one!
Hey Seb. Great point. I used both methods for the bandsged and then the blue lighting. I did have it as the second half of the video bit it was getting too long. In hindsight, I was wrong ;)
With curve it seems easier to control, i used the tube method and most of the time, the tube turns in directions i dont want
Didn’t know the curve repeater was a thing so that’s useful to learn about but as others have said, not sure why you don’t just use a tube and set a profile on it
I was thinking the same a tube with a custom profile is a better solution.
Can you change the scale at each curve node? I could see using sphere and quickly blocking out legs, arms, and fingers
What’s the difference to the tube tool and forming the right profile for a ribbon?
That pumpkin head is god damn cool. where is the tutorial to make that? I think I missed that info.
What size iPad do you use primarily, a 11 inch or 12.9?
