My guess is that the Chronicled Wish banner is to be able to 'retire' older characters and their weapons so that Hoyo doesn't have to run them as limited banners anymore, making space for the new characters. I think this is a really good way of going about making older characters available.
Yeah, especially since it seems that all you have to do is lose one 50-50 to guarantee getting the character you want
if they're gonna 'retire' them, at least put them in the 50/50 after this so that you still have a chance to get them anytime.
Better in a separate banner than being put into the "standard" banner. I know people who still haven't gotten Dehya After all this time. Better to let older units have their time to shine, rather than wait one year Plus to get a rerun. @@xacolmah
@@xacolmah There's actually a legal issue with that. They can actually be sued for moving limited characters to a non-limited format. That's why this additional banner is still a form of 'limited' banner.

Here is how the “Chronicled banner” works (from Genshin official in HoYoLAB):
It’s like the weapon banner where you have to choose a character or weapon first: if you don’t get the character that you chose, you gain 1fate point and you only need 1 of those to guarantee your character or weapon of choice for next pulls (instead of 2 fate points like the weapon banner). You can build pity and it will be maintained/preserved for the next “chronicled wish banner” (which will come from time to time) but your fate points will be reset every time the banner changes. Also, if you choose a character, you can only lose your 50/50 to characters (same if you choose to pull for weapons). The characters on this banner have to have appeared at least 3 times in banners and not have gotten a recent rerun ( I think it’s at least 5 patches knowing Eula and Klee are there). So it might be hard at the moment to have another of these banners soon without at least 3 characters that meet those requirements.
The fate point resets has always been annoying as it only made getting the weapon you want so badly just turn fully bad

It was a hack not a bug actually. It was a hack due to how it effected the game by overwriting values of objects as dendro cores. Something you simply can't do without access to game files

@@schmiggidythe weapon banner will likely stay for people who want to pull right away rather than wait. I may still use it on occasion for new release characters that I love since it will be a while before they join this banner but I’m not touching the weapon banner otherwise.

@@johnnydavis4505 you do know most gacha games don’t even have a 50/50? It’s beyond stupid to expect a lottery game to give you what you want at the first opportunity. It’s more than generous giving you a guaranteed chance at characters of your choice.
If you would be equally satisfied with either featured 5* weapon on weapon banner, it will *always* be better than this one. If you only want to gun for a single weapon or you're looking for a specific standard weapon, this new banner will usually be better _provided that you save your primogems for the guarantee_ and aren't just gambling/building pity. While the weapon banner's fate points reset every 3 weeks, the 75/25 record does *not* reset! The weapon banner is much less of a scam than most people think but you have to be smart about how you spend your primogems. This banner is more fair but also more expensive. Remember that hard pity on the character banner is 90 (10 for 4*s) and soft pity is 74 (9 for 4*s), while hard pity on the weapon banner is 80 (9 for 4*s) and soft pity is 64 (8 for 4*s). Weapons give you fewer starglitter overall in return than repeat characters do, so it makes sense that their pull rates are higher and their pity count lower, but this banner makes weapons just as expensive to pull as characters. Plus the 50/50 will reset every time the banner changes. That does not mean this banner is not worth it! But it's important to be aware of the tradeoffs.
Save your primogems, and only pull when you have enough for a guarantee. You can't get shafted if you come into it prepared.

It uses Intertwined fates, and also the Fates (like Weapon Banner) reset after every 'banner'.
After 3 f years, the company who made Albedo event exclusive character to begin with, finally added a 5* event banner sword for players...
Slowly but we are progressing...
At the 10th anniversary we maybe even get a 5* standard character

If you choose a 5 star character, you can only lose to a character and the same with weapons. Features 5 star characters who have had at least 3 banners and no recent reruns. Has one fate point, so basically works similarly to a regular 50/50, where if you lose the 50/50 you get a guarantee to get the 5 star you chose. However it doesn’t carry to the next banner. Some items in the banner may change over time, and characters that have been featured may still rerun

Honestly, I'm the most excited for the Quality of Life updates. It's pretty hard to keep track of all the materials you need for each character (I have a 10 page spreadsheet on my computer but it's annoying to update)
I hope the the "chosen path" point system (or 50/50) carries on to next patches. If not, it'll be another weapon banner situation:(

LET'S GOOOOO!!! I have had Eula as my main since the first day of her first banner and the first character I wished on the weapon banner for to get her weapon. This was before epitomised path was introduced so this was back when getting the weapon you wanted wasn't guaranteed. I love how with each time we see her, Eula becomes more open with others and even jokes a little.

my question is, why r they putting mona diluc and jean on the new wish? theyre already on standard, theres no point. they should put other characters that have already had quite a few banners i just think it would be so much more convenient
Friendly warning to be very cautious with the Chronicled wish. Moosashi has a quick video explaining why to be careful but in short, fate points do not carry over between versions and will automatically reset and cause you to lose your guarantee once the version changes or you manually switch character or weapon with your fate point. I honestly think its quite sucky that our hosts were not scripted to bring this up. Youll all find out one way or another but I'd like to comment this to warn at least some people.

Even without help from high places, the precedent of characters feeling incomplete at c0 has been established
Neuvillette wants c1 to work with furina, wriothesley wants c1 to unlock his charge attack for real, dehya wants her c1 so she doesnt have to choose between support or sub dps, yelan and xianyun's c1 allow them to run much more damage instead of ER when you have two ability charges
My case is strongest with neuvillette and dehya, the rest are moreso personal opinion
chiori will be much like neuvillette in that they need their c1 in order to pick their favorite dance partners navia and furina, respectively
(Perhaps need is a strong word, but their kits will doubtless be weakened should you pair a c0 chiori and neuvillette with navia and furina, respectively)

Everyone never wish on Chronicles Wish if you don’t have more than 160 WISHES. Your fate point doesn’t carried over into future patches. If you lose 50/50 on that you gain +1 fate point which guaranteed, But guess what? You ran out of wishes. So be careful.
Basically, Chiori is a _say-what-she-means, means-what-she-says, might-sound-mean-but-she-says-it-anyway kind kinda gal_

Bro, why the 9k dislikes? It is a filler patch, but that's expected. We're in the middle of an update release cycle. This also means Act VI of the Fontaine Archon quest in 4.6 (Traveler/Dainsleif quest)

This is the plainest update I remember seeing, even for a filler patch! Usually in filler patches the main event takes the spotlight. This one doesn't seem very good, I hope I am wrong and that it will be interesting.

Finally got around to seeing this stream after seeing that Itto will finally be re-running! I have 158 Intertwined Fate saved for him and hoping to get him and maybe even his weapon! I had to skip his last re-run for Shogun, so he will finally be coming home. Then, I’ll be saving for Al Haitham!

I was really looking forward to the addition of a third banner, but learning that it will be using Intertwined fates like the other banners, I'm not sure about it anymore. If someone is trying for characters on the event banners and this new one, they're going to be shelling out hundreds. I get that that's the purpose of the game, to make people spend money, but I'm getting tired of spending the money and still not getting the characters I want.
i stopped playing when Baizhu got release but i still watch the updates programs. maybe i will come back when they will release Natlan region and pyro archon.

Chronicled Wish Banner: Worst banner ever! Its the same waepon banner but with characters... Now the f2p will have to choose between 3 banners to pull... Couldn't at least place a new type of wish or something? Or that the first 90 pulls guarantee you the character or weapon? That banner is a joke for us.
