  • On today's episode of The Boiling Point, Gerald and Ritchie address a topic that WARE gets a lot of questions about-the difference between waterback and dryback boilers.
    Chapters:
    Dryback 1:41
    2-Pass Waterback 8:49
    3-Pass Waterback 9:58
    A dryback boiler design means that the rear wall is lined with refractory. As an example, Gerald shows us a dryback boiler by Victory Energy that is engineered to optimize water circulation, promote heat transfer, and engineered for long-term performance and reduced maintenance. Using a dryback boiler, you can use up to 10% less fuel.
    Waterback boiler designs have a water gap between the furnace and back wall, and all of the heat is generated directly into water. Waterback designs are just as durable as dryback designs, but must have a heat balance in the system.
    Be sure to watch the entire video for a very important announcement from WARE.

    I dont Completely agree with Dry back retaining so much heat to actually act as a heat accumulator but i do agree with dry back being more accessible.

      Of course it does. Insulated refractory does reduce heat loss due to high porosity distributed evenly. Result: less thermal conductivity.

    Sir, question with regards to the rifled tube increasing the heating surface, to the maintenance side, on PMS of tubes, is there no problem in removing minimal deposited soots on rifled tube? what are other means aside from using rotary brush?

    Excellent. What is a surface blow down.... We normally see bottom blow down.
    Also, what is the advantage of surface blowdown.
    Thanks for your valuable time.

      Some dissolved solids in water that are distilled behind when water evaporates Float and Some sink. The dissolved solids that float need surface Blowdown and the ones that sink need Bottom Blowdown.

    It's confuse that dry back refractory acts as a thermal sink. Because this energy ever comes from the burner. But all of this is a very interesting explanation

    Nice video. But NOX at 30 ppm....this something i would like to see :D

    • @wareboilers
      @wareboilers  7 лет назад +1

      It's possible! Using systems such as the Limpsfield Burner and an Autoflame Controller you can dial down the NOx to 30 ppm with varying degrees of efficiency. You can check more out here www.wareinc.com/combustion and please give us a call if you have more questions, we would be happy to help. Thanks for the comment!
