Like he really wanted Ace to join up and take over the world with him. I think he had no idea about Ace/Luffy yet though, and that would've stopped them working together anyway.
@@wr5488 this is a good statement. Thing is about rewatching one piece is there are things you only notice after rewatching. Especially the mindset of characters, since we usually get their backstories later on after their introduced.
@@rodnerd6769 Yes!!! Rewatch 700 to current knowing who the traitor is. You'll catch like 5+ moments where they almost end the alliance, but its soooooo subtle that on the first time watching you will completely misinterpret it. One Piece is amazing like that. Or you'll have a piece of dialogue with a completely different meaning on the second watch.
