Another really useful, really interesting episode. Thank you!
I just love that color interior. Nice job Rivian!
My. new best friend in my head. Thank you for this Coleton. Has been a major concern of mine since I ordered my spec with Ocean Coast. Can't thank you enough.
Thanks, Coleton! I've never been one to spend a lot of time detailing and protecting my car, but my R1T is different. I pick it up Saturday and I'm so excited. It makes such a difference to have someone like you walk us newbies through all of this. Thank you for taking the time and making these videos!
I did this with my black mountain interior. Great products!
Great stuff, did my seats with this within the first week I had my car
I have tried so many products to try to get the dye transfer off my white model X seats. Will have to give this a try
Excellent job Colton 👏 👍
Dude you are a legend. You deserve WAY more subs and likes!
Thanks Colton for this video!! Really useful and much appreciated! And also in this case, like you say, if we need a flashlight, there's one in the driver's door 😉
Could you do a video about some of these Matt effect paints and the way you go about protecting them?
Just did this on my R1S with ocean coast really such an easy process just a little time consuming
I love the work you do and your videos. You may have mentioned it in the past but I was wondering if you recommend a ceramic coating for glass. I have an R1S. Thank you.
Thank you!!! How often should I reapply? And when I do, is there something that should be done before reapplying? Thank you!!!
@OutofSpecDetailing Great info, thanks, Colteton! Question please. Around 15:30 you say "On a Rivian R1T -- maybe not an R1S -- you can get away with doing 2 layers on everything." Do you mean, every time we use the Gyeon LeatherShield, we should apply it twice in a row? I.e. two coats of LeatherShield?
Q1-Do you recommend doing the top of the dashboard and behind the seats?
Q2-Do I need a mild cleaner first on the seats is the truck is brand-new from the factory.
Thanks for answering my questions,
@OutofSpecDetailing, I used leather shield on the R1T and left some residue. Could you pelase share a product to remove excess coating please?
Can you use this coating on the dash, interior doors, back of seats etc?
So after it’s applied how do I clean & maintain seats without removing coating? After it has cured, can I apply other mild cleaning products on top of it?
How long does the ceramic coating last, before it needs to be applied again?
How often do you recommend to do the ceramic coating ? Once a year ?
The stiff brush is sold out. Do you have an alternative link on amazon?
After doing this Ocean Coast interior, do you think it’s worth the effort versus the Black Mountain?
I couldn't find where the links were. Please help.
How much of the ceramic did you need for the full vehicle?
Thanks for the update. Do you have any product pre and post coating suggestions for the front lights and back lights for when the heavy wet snow gets on there and it freezes?
Video coming!
@@OutofSpecDetailing Awesome! Thanks so much. It is a big question in the Rivian community.
Great video Coleton, thanks! How does the Leather Shield product work with dog fur? Does it attract it more? Is it harder to remove due to more static or anything. I saw that you didn’t recommend putting this on the steering wheel (completely understand that). What about applying to the dash? Does Leather Shield offer any UV protection that would make that worth doing?
It does have UV protection. It’s also anti static meaning it will not attract lint or dog hair!
Hello, I got the 2024 model 3, would this work on the new seats? And can I apply it on the black pieces (plastic) by the door trim, the area under the glass and dash board, or is it just for the seats?
🔥🔥🔥
Where are the links
Is the dash (the part that faces the windshield and that has the metal grills in it) made of vegan leather, too? If so, should that be cleaned and coated with ceramic coating, too?
Any chance you guys can answer this question?
missing the link for the foam pad. thanks
Updated!
1,100 or 11,000 miles?
I heard someone mention that these products aren’t recommended for lighter leathers. I have a Cayenne coming with chalk leather. Would you recommend this?
They are mostly made for light interiors.
Why would you not recommended putting this on the steering wheel?
Is there anything I can do to protect the B pillars? Or do you have any suggestions on how to clean them? I have a slobbery dog that puts her face between my seat and the B pillar and I'm dreading what it will do to the ocean coast when I get it.
Great video topic!
I’ve seen some folks have success with common carpet cleaners, but haven’t had to try for myself yet.
Have you heard Dr Beasley worked with Rivian to develop their vegan leather cleaner/cream? Curious on your thoughts
After you use the autofiber applicator do you throw it away.
Yes, just like the other applicators. The coating will cure on the applicator and harden
I am curious will this also work for a Tesla black or white interior?
Absolutely, it's the best thing for the white interior to resist jean transfer.
Hydrosilex is my go to. The white seats in my model 3 are as white today as they were when I got it in April 2019. Doing the whole ceramic thing can’t hurt but it’s really not needed..
What is your favorite color Black Mountain or ocean coast?
Unless you wish to have the ocean coast detailed regularly, black mountain.
Ocean Coast is so much better looking, especially with the blue exterior. Plus the Ocean Coast stays a lot cooler in the summer.
Am I missing something? I see all the questions but NO answers………
I was sold on this product until the demonstrator refused to use the Dark Blue Applicator on the white seats. That proved to me right there that he wasn't confident in his product. Think about it, he's demonstrating that his product can get color transfers removed from the leather seats, so if the Dark Blue applicator where to transfer color - what is he saying? He can't remove THAT particular color? Then what's the point of getting that product??? Did I miss some critical information? Please explain. Seriously.
The whole point is the dark (heavily dyed applicators) have never been washed or “wet”
Think about the first time you wash a dark colored shirt, some of that color will leech out into the clothes you are washing.
I want to minimize that risk with the applicators.
Wouldn't it be nice if in my $90k car they actually put this coating on the seats BEFORE delivery so that basic usage in the most common kind of pants in the world doesn't destroy the seats...
Ridiculous that this needs to be done aftermarket.
Dont bother commenting. From what I've seen, you won't get a response to questions
yeah... they never ever respond.
