WHAT?? Are you telling me I dont need my 11 pair of running shoes to train for my 45 minute 10k? 😅 Dont make me second guess my life choices 😄 Seriously impressed with the durability
What a silly thought! Of course, you need 11 pairs of running shoes. I have 9 pairs myself, and that's definitely not enough. I need at least 2 pairs more. Maybe 3 .... 😂
Currently sitting on my couch looking at 12 pairs of shoes with less then 20miles on 10 of them. Lol. Watching reviews to buy another pair to start another rotation 😂
Thank you for verifying shoes can last much longer than manufacturers claimed. My Endorphin Speed has only 900 miles (1450 km) on them, and the brand new Speed 2 has been sitting on shelf for more than a year now. I have some Saucony shoes have big mileages: Kinvara 10: 3017 km, Kinvara 11: 2423 km, Freedom 2: 2100 km, and Freedom 3: 2124km which is still on shoe rotation.
Part of me thinks you’re making this up! Ha, incredible. I ran my first two marathons ever last year in the Speed 3, so there’s an automatic sentimental value for me. Bought some Speed 2’s and love them as well. Though now I have to rethink how many miles I should run in my shoes before retiring them… thanks for the great video, Patrick!
Ha definitely not making it up. If you keep going in them and treat them well they'll go a long way. I thought when I try the new pair after all these miles I'll notice a big difference in the cushioning and bounce but I didn't.
I've had shoes that I've gone through quicker than this, but yeah I don't go through them really quickly in general. In comparison though these did last much longer than other pairs from different brands I've had.
Totally agree with you on the shoe rotating dogma we are fed by the shoe industry. Actually, i think its the other way around, injury risk increase with changing shoes (too) often. The challenge is to find a model that suits you n tick your boxes...
Got into running just over a month ago and I picked up a pair of these 2 weeks ago and have put close to 100KM on them already. Absolutely love them. Was worried about wearing them out so ordered a pair of New Balance FuelCell SuperComp for recovery and have a race day pair of Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% 2. Based on this video I’ll hold off ordering anything else and see how I get on with this 3 shoe rotations. Great video of a great shoe 👍
I also have this shoe and it's my favorite in 6 years of running. Had them for almost a year now and they're still in good condition. Will be getting another pair soon for a cheaper price now.
I found similar with the Endorphin Pro 2. They still feel great and full of bounce after a year or so of heavy use, unlike most of my other shoes. There's clearly something magic in the foam!
I frigging love this shoe. Period. My DOMS have almost disappeared because they definitely save you a lot of the impact from the ground while still being snappy and lightweight. I have bought another fresh pair of Speed 3 to run in them for what's left of 2024 and possibly beginning of 2025 and I might pick the Speed 4, which I heard are practically the same shoe.
First a tip: Make sure your big toe nail is always clipped hence no pressure on inner mesh that causes those tears eventually! I got 2000k out of my Speed 2's. Just got my Speed 3's and the durability again looks impressive after 150kms. Little roomier in the toe box but that's ok for winter when I will run with thicker socks. BTW on eBay there are some sellers offering the Pro 2 new which is tempting to get for the carbon plate option and knowledge the brand is well made.
Great to hear Patrick! I managed 1300km in the original Speed and found the 1st say 800km incredibly fun & durable. At over 80kg I prob wear them out a bit harder. Youre around 6ft 1 & 72kg hey? Great review, cheers 🎉.
My speed 2 have 900 kms & the pair is almost like out of the box . The mesh and the outsole are perfect. The midsole is a litlle less responsive but I think I can use them 500 more km easyly
2700KM seems crazy to me. First off that's a lot of running but also I thought no shoe could go past 1000km. This is great news as it's on my top of my list for shoes to get next.
I think running shoes can probably go further than we think (depending on the shoe). Obviously you need to treat them well, don't run off road a lot etc.
I have covered only 450 miles in the Speed 3. Relatively new to running started in Feb 22 and had the Speed 3s since Jan 23. They did all the work for me and got me looking forward to my long runs. I wore them Sunday just gone for 17 miles and the energy return is still so nice, wouldn’t even say I’ve gone out of my way to take care of them. Best £100 I ever spent, but now they are much more expensive… waiting till I see them on sale 😅 I’m not sure a better training shoe could exist.
Yes they're so nice to run in, makes it more enjoyable. That's a good price you got them for, always good to wait for them to be on sale before buying.
Hmm you said that you got used to them. I got them after 3 pairs of speed 2 I retire them after 500 miles just in case. But after 200 miles in speed 2 I really don't like them as much as speed 2 they are not so bouncy and the width seems awkward perhaps this is why they say they are more stable. After how many miles did you start liking them. I still feel them very flat although my times are OK. I did all my training and racing with speed 2 for the past 2 years...
You must be a mutant sir!!! Perfect run gait and no injuries from not rotating shoes. Take my hat off to you. Power run foams are king though youre right
I've had the Speed 2 and now the 3, prefer the slightly wider 3. You have a huge amount of miles on yours! I tend to retire shoes after 800 km or so. I might keep them going longer. I also get the big toe hole but it's only cosmetic. I hope Saucony don't change the next model much, it's just about perfect as it is.
Enjoyed this vid! Great to see someone else have similar views about this amazing shoe!! 😂Been a big fan of the Speed range after getting the speed 2s but retired them at 750km. Got the speed 3, 1st pair got to 800km and thought it would eventually flatten out and bought 2nd pair.... To my surprise the 1st pair is still going strong now at 900km and 2nd pair at 300km... Truly is a fantastic all rounder smashing ever type of run you throw at it. After hearing the speed 4s only expected out in 2024 I might need a 3rd pair.😂
I'm glad to see someone else like them as much. Sounds like you're getting a lot of life out of them too. They really do surprise you with the amount of miles they can do.
3:45 i find it impossible to believe that this outsole has 1700 miles on it. I've ran thousands of miles in all the endorphin series and my shit looks worse than that after 400-500 miles. Make it make sense
Great video. People are so fixated on having to replace their shoes after 2/300 miles. I tend to take mine up to about 800 miles at least - but clearly I have a lot longer to go! My endorphin speed 2's are a dream. Will probably skip the 3 and get the 4 by the time my current speed 2's are done.
Yes I think you'd really have to batter the Endorphin Speed 2 and 3's to need to replace them after 300 miles. I'll be very interested to see what they change on the 4s.
I bought speed 2's and had an issue of the foam on the inner heel of my right foot just collapsing in when standing. Tried them a few runs and just didn't like them. My buddy loved his speed 2's, got a second pair months later, and the second pair is nothing like the first. Makes me think there was a manufacturing change. My speed 3 wides were my first marathon shoe and they did well. They lasted me 600 miles about as a heavy runner that also hits the ground quite hard. Just bought a second pair for the spring races.
I’ve ran in a lot of shoes. The first time I ran in the shoe. My mind triggered and said this is the best shoe I have ever ran in. The only shoe that I feel that comes close is the Puma deviate nitro 2.
Great shoe, the extra width and accommodating fit in V3 has pleased me. My pair, the midsole felt softer than the previous versions however has firmed up notably after getting very wet during a winter race. The Puma deviate nitro shoes have similarities& better grip but Saucony edges it. Heard good things regarding the ASICS Superblast, bar the price! 😂
Thanks, I might have a look at the ASICS Superblast, I'll probably be put off by the price though. Annoyingly none of them are cheap that's why they need to last so many miles!
@@ramentasty8 The speed 3 is great, i prefer it over deviate nitro 2. The speed 3 is more poppy and can go faster, the deviate is more comfy at slower pace. The deviate has superior grip so probably better in the winter ice, though i haven't tested in ice yet. novablast 3 forget it in the winter
Loved the Speed 1 but only lasted 600k as the outsole was not holding up anymore and the midsole was going flat. Speed 3 however was more bouncy, stable yet can still pick up the pace and has a better upper but again only lasted me 600k as same issues with the outsole and midsole however I still loved the Speed 3 and was my favourite shoe of 2022. Amazing how yours lasted that long. I love the Speed series as it is a Jack of all trades shoe that can do from easy to race day. What a shoe. Here's me hoping Speed 4 is even better whenever that comes out.
Before you chuck them cut them open and look at the nylon plate. Id be surprised if it wasnt like a piece of paper after that many miles. Mine felt dead at 550 miles. The outside heel had worn right through on my pair. Replaced with the boston 12 which is firmer, more responsive but a tad less comfort.
@patrickmartinrunning what usually happens is the plate goes floppy. They arnt that stiff to begin with. With the foams that are nito infused they degrade over time and compress and lose performance.
OMG...thats alot of mileage. I'm using this shoe right now, the red one. Really love it for its versaility, very easy to pickup the pace. Currently i've covered 500km in this shoe. Plan to buy more pair of this shoe for my marathon race training, but it is hard to find it now. Maybe i''ll switch to new version / speed 4.
Don't know what I'm doing wrong but 250km in and I'm pretty much through the rubber on the heel and almost through the toe rubber as well. The uppers still look like new but I'm very disappointed with the outersole durability. I'm mostly running on fairly good quality roads, course chip but nothing too rough, you could walk on them bare foot without too much of a problem. I ended up gluing some pieces of rubber to the heel just to extend their live a little, it's such a pity because I really enjoyed these shoes, but for the dollars they're asking for them down here in Australia, and the life I'm getting from them, I'm unable justify getting another pair.
Wow that's a lot. Wonder how a newer pair would feel in comparison. I also notice you have had some injury problems of late. Are you still using these shoes as you get back to running and do you think wearing a pair of shoes this long contributed to your injury?
So in the video I explain that I bought a newer pair because I thought I should as I didn't want to keep running in the old pair. The newer pair didn't feel much different. I haven't run in those shoes for a good few months. But the older pair would have kept going a bit longer I'm sure if I would have tried.
I actually recently got the Speed 3 based on Patrick's earlier mentioning of them. Turns out they are a great fit for me, so good times! A review somewhere (runrepeat?) said the foam does well in cold temps as well, so looking forward to testing that this coming winter. Curious about Pro 3s though as a race shoe, not that I am anything more than an average runner.
I am currently using both the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 and the Speed 3, as well as the Pro 3. I switch between these shoes during my daily runs, often doing two runs per day. I completely agree with your positive comments about the Speed 3. However, I find that the laces on the Speed 3 are much better compared to the Speed 2. While the "speed rolling" feature that makes the Speed 3 great is sometimes a problem for me, as it occasionally feels like I'm rolling too far forward or over my toes. In comparison, this issue doesn't occur with the Speed 2 and Pro 3.
1737 miles is more catchy. i even thought it's a click bait. i thought i am being stingy bringing my shoes to 1200km, sometimes less when upper gives up first like takumi sen 8, but 900km for takumi sen is still a lot, though i made a rule that i wouldn't buy again any model that doesn't reach 1k km 😅
I wore the Nike Vaporfly 2 for London. The Speed 3 isn't a shoe I would choose for racing, it's not quite as quick as some of the carbon plated shoes, but it's good for pretty much everything else.
My speed 2 has finally compacted itself after 1000km. I’ve been hesitating abt the speed 3. I thought the dumbed it down a bit but speed 2 is no longer available.
Have you tried running in Alphaflys? You'd easily knock 3 minutes+ off your current marathon times. When I first got a pair and trialed them on a 7km fast run I couldn't believe how quick I was going. At every km marker I did a double-glance at my watch as I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Just ridiculous how much faster these things can make you run. Then over a marathon distance ... holy sh!t. It's no wonder all the world marathon times have come down so much since these things were invented.
@@patrickmartinrunning Yes, it's interesting you say that. Ben Parkes (another runner on RUclips) reviewed the Vaporfly and Alphafly. While he concluded that the Vaporfly felt better and was a good all-round shoe, he said the Alphafly was definitely quicker and that's why he wears them on race day. Although, that video was a few years back, so perhaps he's changes things up since then.
The 1's were brilliant. I liked it feeling a little unstable. Allowed my foot to land/ pronate without any influence. The 3 being wider and having the little carbon plate wings dictates my landing and although it doesn't mess me up it is noticeable
The 1s were great. I tried my old pair again the other day and really noticed the difference. Much narrower and less stable, but that worked well for me. The 3's are more mass market I think, they'll suit more people, but I do actually think I preferred the 1's or 2's now.
I recently bought my speed 1 out of retirement to compare to speed 3, and proceeded to put them back in the rotation. I like the instability thing too, i think it gives a more natural ride. I wish the 4 goes back to how the 1 feels instead of the 3
@@subhanshah5511 great shoe!!! I'm gutted that I threw mine out but I could have easily got another 200 miles from them..was too keen to use the speed 2
@@pete801 I left my speed 1 at my sister's house for when i stayed over, but took them home. Got 600k in them before using the speed 2, but i think I'll take them to 1000k or more. The midsole is still amazing, the upper shows little signs of wear apart from little dirt. It's only the rubber on the outsole that shoes slight wear. Anyway looks like the speed 4 is ready for preorder. Really hoping they being back the magic of the speed 1/2
Great shoes. I have the same pair, colourway and a tear in the same place on the upper fabric. Initially was dissapointed with the Speed 3 in comparison to the Speed 2 as it 'felt' slower, but GPS says otherwise and in the end it's turned out to be a great shoe. Mind you, I've only done 450 miles in mine. Only shoe I can think of that comes close is the Brooks Hyperion Max.
That's really interesting about the same tear, I thought it was just me. Yes it took me a little bit of time to like the 3 as much as the 2 but overall I think it's very similar.
Had more than 10 pairs of endorphin speed all models, lasts 630+ miles/pair. First model is definitely the best, but still trying to understand third model, those great but feel to stable compare to first. But still best line of running sneakers I ever tried. And yes, this damage above big toe is main problem of those, but I don’t mind, it creates after 500 miles, and by 630+ it gets too big, so have to change pair. If there is no this problem, I believe those should work twice longer
Yes I've actually started wearing this pair in the video again sometimes. They are still really bouncy too. So many people have mentioned the rip above the toe now. Obviously a design flaw.
Very interesting video. I used to religiously track mileage in my shoes and it seemed would typically get signs of injury if running over 500 miles in any given shoe. I now wonder if this was a cognitive bias, actual breakdown of my Nike Pegasus shoes, or perhaps a suboptimal stride relative to yours. Funny enough I owned 2 pairs of the Endorphin Speed 2s and tossed them both after 400ish miles.. Now I'm thinking that may have been way too premature.
Nice that you keep on wearing them! Since I read Born to run, about ultra runners running with no cushioning at all, I'm quite convinced that changing shoes before they are falling apart is merely marketing 😊I think the cushioning decreases at a pace so slowly, your body can easily compensate by getting stronger. A shoe I recently bought, that I like for any type of running is the Puma Nitro Deviate 2. It's light and fast, but also nice for easier running. And the grip is great. I was wondering: Do you think you can race faster on the Vaporflys then on the Sauconys, and if so, how much faster would you estimate on a marathon?
I think I would be faster in the Vaporflys. They just propel me forward even more. It's impossible to know how much faster I would be but maybe over the course of a marathon, maybe a minute or 2, which is quite a lot.
I love my 3's. I am a heavier runner and can only get about 400 miles before I feel the inside wearing down then causing me blisters. I had a weird thing happen. I had a pair of the yellow shoes and had no issues with the heel. I went and bought a pair of red 3's and found my Achilles would get rubbed my the heel. I had to push the back down over and over again to sort of break the plastic in. Did you have that experience with your red 3's? I bought a pair of 4's and took them back. Too narrow, too long amd the arch placement was not the same. I am working on getting another 3 to have on hand.
I do think the shoes can differ between pairs of exactly the same kind of shoe. I've had that experience in the past when a different colour just felt different.
I seem to struggle to find the right shoe. I've tried nimbus 25, Hoka mach x, Asics Novablast and did the try the endorphin in my usual size but should have gone half a size up. I have wide feet but slim ankles. It seems to be a challenge! WOuld appreciate some input. I'm very tempted to try the Triumph....not sure if they are very similar?
Hmm, I'm not an expert on this because I've used the Endorphin Speed so much I can't advise you on the others. As you say, maybe try the Speed half a size up again if you're struggling with the smaller size.
I have been on the look out for a road shoe . I run almost entirely trails but fancy a crack at a half marathon on road just to see where I am with form ? I was thinking about the Adios 8 but might just go Saucony
I fully endorse these sentiments, albeit with fewer kms. Aesthetically and functionally an inspiring and motivating shoe and it will be my chosen shoe for the Melbourne half-marathon in October. Coincidentally, I have a small tear\hole above my left large toe, which must be due to my running style ( just like my previous Nike shoes)! Cheers! PS: when is the Speed 4 model coming out?
I have the speed 2, it was my favourite shoe, slightly too narrow on my right feet (rubs my pinky) but after an injury I quit running for like 4 months and when I wore it again, the foam just felt completely dead to me and it only had 250km, now I'm using nike invincible 1, that also has 260km but feels almost same as the first run. I have another speed 2 brand new (sitting on the shelf for almost a year), will be curious if it feels the same as the old one. Durability wise at 250km looks same as new, just some brown/gray mud spots on the midsole but nothing else.
@@patrickmartinrunning you're legs must be insanely strong to run this much in a shoe. I only started running 2 years ago, quickly injured myself with really bad shoes and no proper plan, ever since then I couldn't go more than 250km with a shoe without serious knee pain. I've had ghost 14, novablast 1, velocity nitro 1&2 they all reached end of life for me, simply the foam caused pain, upper all perfect.
i dont know.. i just sign-up for my first half marathon this 1st October. since my pace currently at around 7-8 min/km. i pick this Speed 3 for my upcoming first HM. do still wonder it the right shoe or not since i new in running . . my daily trainer is Ghost 14, and noosa tri 14 for speed session
My shoes always last much longer than the manufacturers/reviewers suggest. My Endorphin Speed 1s are up to 948km and still performing well. I did nearly 1500km in my Pegasus 31s before retiring them. But 1737 miles is something else. What surfaces have you been running on predominantly?
Pretty much just roads, occasionally a bit of gravel. That helps a lot. I don't think these would last anywhere near as long if I was running on very stoney surfaces because the stones would break the soles.
That was a great review, and I am very tempted to buy a pair. However, I live in a small town in the countryside, surrounded by fields and forests - we even have a large beach. I'm very privileged in that aspect. This means that my runs are always a combination of roads and trails. I think it's pretty close to 50/50. According to your review this is probably not the ideal shoe for me. On the other hand - you did more than 1700 miles in them. If I could do 500 miles on a combination of roads and trails, it would still be quite decent. Do you think that would be possible?
I think they would get more wear on trails, but it depends if there are a lot of stones, or its just mud and grass. In that case I think it would be fine. I think I could get 500 miles out of them in those sorts of conditions.
For me I preferred the 2. It was a better fit and felt faster. But the 3 is good and probably suitable for more people because its wider and more stable.
Problem I'm having now is with shirts! My chest gets soaked, sticks. My best shirt is some $3.00 Chinese reject from Ross (discount clothing store in U.S). Just tried ultra lightweight shirt from Amazon (TLRun), but same problem. Any recommendations for lightweight, airy shirts.
Hmm I don't really have any good suggestions for shirts. I should probably test some out and do a video. Most of my recent running has been in cooler temperatures so sweat hasn't been much of a problem.
Man, can’t believe you only used 1 pair of shoes. It gets so hot and humid where I live that my shoes aren’t even dried out by the next day. Forget trying to use the same pair for 2 runs on the same day! Did you just get used to running in wet shoes all the time?
They got more wet in the rain actually, its not hot or humid here. I would dry them out by putting them on the radiator. Sometimes I would run in damp shoes though. Not great, but I'm a real creature of habit and routine!
I bought two pairs but mine somehow tore on the right side of my right shoe. For both of them. I only put 600km on each of them :( But best trainer shoe I ever ran with
Quite surprised about your report on these shoes…mine after 300km are already cut on side in the upper near the mid sole 😢 even if I’d love these shoes they’d rather take me to half of that distance. Tried to sew them…let’s hope them last at least 700km
That's a shame, everyone runs in a different way and different surfaces. I run a lot on tarmac which helps. They are not very durable on anything other than that I think.
@@patrickmartinrunning I ran mostly on asphalt nothing special, I’m quite light weight 62/63kg and none of this happen with any other shoes. So I was searching on the web if anybody had the same issue like me, but finally I encountered your video…and I was incredulous…
How on earth did you get them to last 1737 miles? Even my v Velocity Nitro 2 pretty much came apart after 775 miles. Then again, I run on Indian roads. 😂
@@damienmartinezcoro7765 this obviously varies from person to person but for me I usually see a shoe out the door at 500-600 miles. I’m running between 30-40 miles a week but I also strength train 5 days week and put emphasis on my lower body, which i think helps keep the knee, quad and calf wear and tear running has, down a bit
I’ll bet your car has sailed through its last 55 MOTs as well? I believed every word of this - until you said you could love something more than the Speed 2s. This is just not possible….
I categorically refuse to wear, let alone buy a pair of shoes like that. I rather run a marathon half an hour slower than you but stay true to myself. I was disappointed at the World Athletics decision to allow a 32 mm cushioning because this is already a lot. When you get to the situation that those who do not use these shoes are at disadvantage, then, we have a problem. It is no longer the runner but the shoe. Imagine someone turning up at the race with a 3 inches cushioning. You tell them: "hey! That's cheating!". They will reply: "no, it is not. You can wear them too." For me these are and will remain clown shoes. Of course, there is a lot of money at stake, and the corporations have a finger in every pie, including in the federation. In any case, your video is still interesting, as usual.
Why get so worked up about it?! Unless you're pushing for a podium finish with the Kenyans, you're just racing against yourself. Who cares what shoes people around you are wearing. They certainly don't care what you're wearing. Far more important things in the world to get annoyed about.
I totally understand what you mean. When pretty much everyone is using these shoes it's kind of a level playing field in that sense, you lose the advantage maybe. They do help with reducing the impact with the amount of training I do too because of the cushioning.
So, if you categorically refuse, you must, categorically, be so impressed that you can run a marathon in shoes that are far better than people used in 1970? You are probably so proud that you do so much better than the, historically, first man to run a marathon, probably in sandals or barefoot, and died at the end of it? Your reasoning, of better shoes being unfair, is ridiculous and hypocritical, unless you run in sandals or ancient technology yourself. Otherwise, all of those older generations, snub their nose at you just the same. Double standards, in my opinion.
Buddy. Im having hard to understand this. You say that shoe Can do it all. Slow steady tempo speed work etc. But watching your video where you explain your Road to London. You say you more or less ran all your runs in same tempo give a take a few strides. You Said for sure you didnt do any speedwork at all. Also, Are are you sure that aint your second og third pair you used to reach plus 1700 miles. I’m seriously having a hard time believing you hit plus 2500km in a single pair of shoes. The minimum of wear on the outsole alone tells it all. That’s not plus 2500km, don’t believe it
Thanks for your comment. I've never said I run all my runs at the same tempo. In my London training I say I run at steady pace in the morning and easy in the evening with speed mixed in sometimes. I ran nearly all my training for London in that exact shoe and I thought it would be useful for people to know that I found it to be so durable with that amount of mileage. I'm not sure why I wouldn't tell the truth about that. As I say in the video I have no affiliation with Saucony. I do really appreciate your comments though.
To be fair, I listened to that video carefully. The steady running went down to 3:50 sec per km, which would be tempo for more than most runners. So effectively Patrick has put the endorphine through their paces inc higher speeds. Its just relative!
@@JeDindk phew, I'll keep buying them then 🤩
Currently sitting on my couch looking at 12 pairs of shoes with less then 20miles on 10 of them. Lol. Watching reviews to buy another pair to start another rotation 😂
Hands down the best shoe I’ve ever purchased. They literally do it all and keep the legs fresh.
Yes they hold up way more than the manufacturers would like us to know it seems. You've got some big mileage on those shoes - value for money!
This is my favourite shoe ever, love using mine for all types of runs. Will be looking at sales to find a couple more pairs to keep me going for years
Yes best to buy them when there are sales on if you can.
Vs the pro?
Great review! Confirms what I think that this is a great value brand
700 miles is amazing, 1737 miles is unreal. You must have the lightest, most perfect stride I would have grinded thru the outsole at 300 miles.
I've had shoes that I've gone through quicker than this, but yeah I don't go through them really quickly in general. In comparison though these did last much longer than other pairs from different brands I've had.
I love this running shoe. 600+ miles on mine and still going. So comfortable & speedy.
Yeah my 'new' pair now have over 1400 miles in them!

Interesting, I've never tried the Pro 2. Yes they've obviously developed a good foam.
The pro 2 is a lot more stiff, i wouldn't train in them over the speeds
Thanks! yes I'm quite light so I guess less wear! They are really fun to wear I agree.
Great honest review. No over-hype. I have ES 2 and ES3 coming on Monday. Really excited.
My speed 2 have 900 kms & the pair is almost like out of the box . The mesh and the outsole are perfect. The midsole is a litlle less responsive but I think I can use them 500 more km easyly
Interesting that you're finding that too. They do seem surprisingly durable.
Yes it really is a good shoe, I hope they don't change it too much.
Truly epic. Though my recent 427 miles in these was impressive.
I've heard some good things about the Puma Deviate 2
Great shoe, the extra width and accommodating fit in V3 has pleased me. My pair, the midsole felt softer than the previous versions however has firmed up notably after getting very wet during a winter race. The Puma deviate nitro shoes have similarities& better grip but Saucony edges it. Heard good things regarding the ASICS Superblast, bar the price! 😂
Thanks, I might have a look at the ASICS Superblast, I'll probably be put off by the price though. Annoyingly none of them are cheap that's why they need to last so many miles!
Oh im actually debating between the endorphin 3 vs puma deviate nitros as a daily trainer. Maybe even the asics novablast 3’s. Any opinions?
Yeah will be interesting to see the Speed 4. I'm always apprehensive that they'll mess with it too much and ruin it, but we'll see.
I just love those shoes! Have 2 pairs (also in blue)! 😂🙈
That's incredible your feet must barely hit the ground those shoes look so fresh, I put 1000 km in a pair of Brooks ghost and they were wrecked
Yeah I'll do that, I'm sure it must have worn down a lot.
@patrickmartinrunning what usually happens is the plate goes floppy. They arnt that stiff to begin with. With the foams that are nito infused they degrade over time and compress and lose performance.
Very impressive. I would like to hear your opinion on comparing endorphin speed with endorphin pro or elite, if you have tried them.
Here from Kofuzi, wanted to say you're insane
New subscriber here , I loved this video 😁
Thank you!
I love the two needing to get a new pair but can’t find the 2 anywhere I’m thinking about getting the 4
OMG...thats alot of mileage.
I have the Speed 4 now and it's also very good.
But the older pair would have kept going a bit longer I'm sure if I would have tried.
the noosa 15 replaced them for my. both great shoes... :)
I'm glad you like them. They've done well for me in cold temperatures, although I haven't tried them in much extreme cold.
Hey Patrick, what shoes are you using on race day?
Judging by your average weekly mileage the title of this video should be "Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 Review After 2 months"...
Haha yes that's probably fair!
Classic 😂
👍 For Saucony 💪 😍
Thank you for the review. Did you wear the Speed 3 for the London Marathon? And if not, what shoe did you wear? Thanks!
I wore the Nike Vaporfly 2 for London. The Speed 3 isn't a shoe I would choose for racing, it's not quite as quick as some of the carbon plated shoes, but it's good for pretty much everything else.
@@patrickmartinrunning Thank you for the reply!
Nice review! How would you compare this with Asics Novoblast 3 or Nimbus 25?
Thanks, I haven't tried those
Powerrun pb ages like wine.
Really? Very interesting. I love the Vaporflys for racing but have never tried the Alphaflys. Sounds like I might have to invest in some!
Although, that video was a few years back, so perhaps he's changes things up since then.
impressive & great video! I also have one, but found the emblem were cracked and started detached, only after 30km. any advice? thanks!
Thanks, probably doesn't matter if the emblem is cracked. As long as they are OK to run in it should be fine.
@@subhanshah5511 fingers crossed it does. 🤞🤞
I wish the speed had just a bit more cushioning in the forefoot. That Power run PB foam is the best foam on the market right now.
Yeah it's great for a non racing shoe that you can use everyday. Has a lot of the qualities of the racing shoes, but more durable.
It's a great shoe to go with from my experience.
That's interesting you have the same tear. I'm guessing the 4 will come out this autumn.
Loved the Speed 1 but shoe felt dead after only about 250 miles. Bought another pair with similar mileage. Yet to buy the Speed 3
The Speed 1 definitely wasn't as durable. Quite a big difference actually.
Pro tip:
If you put your speed 2 insole over top of your inside in the speed 3 it becomes incredibly plush yet the shoe performs just the same.
how does it feel under the foot though? with some shoes I think the feel under the feet is not the same after 400 to 500 miles
Interesting, I tried the invincible but after a while it started rubbing on my ankle and became really uncomfortable.
I think it will be a great shoe for your first half marathon
the mileage numbers in your video and in these comments are astounding
Yes it's amazing how far one pair can go and still stay in good condition.
Which would you say you like better? The 2 or the 3?
Jeepers. If they went 1700 miles they’re a 15/10 for durability.
I just picked up a clearance pair for $90 Canadian.
👍👍👍
I bought two pairs but mine somehow tore on the right side of my right shoe. For both of them. I only put 600km on each of them :(
But best trainer shoe I ever ran with
I'm still training in the speed 1! Still gr8 just toe coming through mesh..😂
Haha I thought that toe rip was just me. Obviously not!
What's the difference between Endorphin Speed Pro 3 and Endorphin Speed 3?
The Pro is more for racing and probably less durable, although I've never run in them so someone else will have a better answer.
Are you using the Endorphin Speed 4 now? If so what are your thoughts on it?
Yes I am. I'll do a video on it.
@@patrickmartinrunning heck yeah! Can’t wait hear what you have to say. Thanks man.
For me it wasnt the case after 350 miles there was au big hole in both of the shoe around the big toe but it still my favorite shoe
Compared with the speed 2 they do nothing for me I don’t know what they did to the soles
What did you use in the marathon?
The Nike Vaporfly 2. I love that for racing in.
Does the shoe have arch support?
I think it does yes.
Didn’t start watching but If you used them for 1737 miles, i believe there is no much suspense left 😂
You ran the marathon in these too???
No I ran the marathon in Nike Vaporfly 2. These aren't the best for racing in, but everything else very good.
v2 was a tad unstable
1700+ miles!?!?!
Yes quite a lot!
these are like washing machines before they added built-in obsolescence. they'll probably make future models less durable so you keep buying them
Probably, I really hope not though!
its already the 3rd iteration of the speed and its still as durable (or better) as the first two...
How on earth did you get them to last 1737 miles? Even my v
Velocity Nitro 2 pretty much came apart after 775 miles. Then again, I run on Indian roads. 😂
Yeah I run a lot on tarmac roads which helps!
Wow. That's such minimal wear!
For me this just goes to show show manufacturers are conditioning is to buy new shoes every 300 miles just to keep the profits coming…
New to endorphins but I’ve never being able to wear a shoe for more than 300. It destroys my legs.
Was the 1737 miles between two pairs of shoes?
No just the 1 pair
@@patrickmartinrunning 🤯I think the most I've ever got was around 650 miles, although I've never tried a Saucony shoe.
I’ll bet your car has sailed through its last 55 MOTs as well? I believed every word of this - until you said you could love something more than the Speed 2s. This is just not possible….
The soles coming off mine after 300 miles 🤬😂

@@patrickmartinrunning get on to saucony I sent them pics and they’re sending me out a pair of the 4s
1737 miles. 😆
You are an outlier among beginners lol...
Hahaha
I have a friend who got mad when his Newtons clunked out at 1250. He had 2000 on a previous pair. Personally, I only took a pair once beyond 600.
To be fair, I listened to that video carefully. The steady running went down to 3:50 sec per km, which would be tempo for more than most runners. So effectively Patrick has put the endorphine through their paces inc higher speeds. Its just relative!
