Because if you refuse it you'll be labelled as a casteist. No one wants this label even in a civilized discussion. Because it might get uncivilized very easily. I see casteism more as a struggle for dominance among different communities which happen anywhere in the world. You won't find a place without a hierarchy. Atleast not on this earth. The basic instinct of most humans is to prevail over one another. You find that even in a family with many children.

Is their any logic for giving devoce but unfortunately that's the fact in todays 2023 India. However and whatever we say, not all but the majority of Indians have it in their minds all the time. Let me tell you the bitter truth. Caste is the biggest culprit that is restricting the India’s and Indians growth both in mindset and as in whole nation. Not everyone agree to this, however, caste pride, feeling caste supremacy over other caste itself against the core principles of human rights. Many Hindus not able to see through this problem or may be don’t want to to consider mainly because it hurts their ego, they want someone to look down. Asking caste before renting, offering job, collaborating for business, caste politics inside institute and private colleges. It’s pathetic to see how as a kids in school we all used to hangout with all of our friends dint think about caste that time but as time passed we enter college and degree colleges we started making groups based on caste in hostels. Villages are further separated based on caste. Girl being murdered by a father because she wants to marry guy from a other caste and guy being assaulted and even killed by because of intercaste marriages etc. caste runs in our subconscious of Indian society. This is the problem that we need to tackle from questioning. This is also a reason why many minorities are converting to other religion. Unity of Hindus lies in eradication of caste system. Otherwise Hindus will keep fighting within.

There is no justification for discrimination based on Varna or Jati (I avoid the alien word Caste) and it is appalling to treat any human being badly just based on their birth. Having said that, the situation quite often is completely opposite. In a state like Tamil Nadu, the so called upper caste Brahmins bear the brunt of hatred, vilification and discrimination thanks to the dirty third rate Dravidian goons from parties like DMK. In many instances of "caste" violence, it is ironically the so called backward castes who are the perpetuators. In this respect, what she is saying is not the complete picture.

All of this discrimination thing has nothing to do with dalits or brahmins etc. I've known many SC families in my locality who are landlords. They are extremely brutal to their brahmin tanents. I truly believe it has something to do with power. फिर चाहे वो power पैसे से आए या कैसे भी. People even in colleges & Workplaces form alliances n target the weak. It's a very complicated issue & not only complicated but multi dimensional.
Even the cases of women vs men are very biased. Sons are given more value over daughters.
Sons are sent to english medium pvt. Schools n daughters to govt. Ones.

The perception of the caste system in India is a Western idea (actually a Middle Eastern concept of a society that migrated to India). The Indigenous communities had community-based systems ex. Tamil society from its ancient times (2000BC at least on record) had divisions of lands as five different biomes (thinai), 1 Kurinji (Forest) 2 Palai (Desert), 3 Mullai (mountainous), 4 Marutam (Agricultural field and plains), 5 Neital (Coastal) and people were classified to these 5 major biomes and accordingly, their lifestyle based on their occupational choices. The community system allowed people to be in any occupation and switch from the occupation done by their parents and also had full flexibility to move to a different biome. This flexibility allowed each community to migrate to any part of the Tamil kingdom or even migrate to other Tamil kingdoms. When the caste system was brought in by the Western communities from the Middle East (sometimes referred to as the Aryan invasion) into the Indian continent they first associated themself with the rulers who also had invaded India from the Middle East and then created new religions and languages (Sanskrit - an Indo European language), they turned the community (flat system) to the caste system (pyramid-shaped) and self-claimed themself to be on the top of the Pyramid. Also, they locked the flexibility of a person moving from one community to another community - and made sure a person born into a family inherits the father's profession so that the top of the pyramid stays at the top forever. This is the significant difference between community system of ancient India vs. the caste system. The changes from the community-based Indian society to a rigid caste-based society happened just before the invasion of colonial invasion of European countries. By the 14th century, all the Tamil Kingdoms were wiped off the Indian map by North Indian Sultans or by Telugu Kingdoms that accepted Sanskritization completely into their language and culture. British, French, Dutch, Portuguese, and others only reached India by sea after the caste system had been replaced by the community system and they didn't understand the historical perspective and migration that happened from the Middle East through landmass from the west.

Why wearing dhoti or salwar kamiz is backward or sign of poverty? Your this description is making them inferior. What about without this and that, don't we fashion style of celebrities or urban rich, what's the difference here. When I look at people in villages I think they look more beautiful, straightforward, upright, more knowledgeable. The elite people had shown them the iradication of casteism which didn't happen but successfully snatched their livelihood and gave them to corporates where they have strings of everybody's livelihood. They can snatch it from every caste be it Dalit or Brahman. We are now doll in their hands. They have now power to increase cost of living of ours be it education or food price, etc. which don't change for any caste. Stop running behind how much per capita in dollar,if not only few will be able afford to basic facilities. Are supper rich, rich, middle class, poor not one type of caste system? Do equalize that. I will how many of you rich people let that happen.

Start identifying yourself more as a successor to the great Bharatiya Civilization and you ll automatically get out of the sub-identities that have taken over (Caste, region, language, Gender, etc.)

Hindu gali and Muslim houses can still be kept separate in some areas; here is why- North India has lost its temple town/villages and what is in good shape is maintained by ASI as heritage monuments. However, in South India- esp TN- temple towns, villages still have living traditions and the township is still having mada-veethi and agraharams. However, muslim occupancy in agraharam disrupts the Hindu living and ecosystem esp when they slaughter goats and cook them. The sanctity of the temple is getting lost. Let us understand- temples are sacred only when they are maintained. And if we want to preserve certain oral traditions and ethnicity, we have to respect that community’s spaces. Chidambaram is a classic example of how a Govt can disrupt because of a political ideology not showing cultural tolerance.
I am not against being inclusive or being tolerant- I cant see one community having to suffer more.

This anti-upper caste narrative of mainstream media must be broken down. Being a Brahmin and having lived in village for many years I can say with certainty that there are many Brahmins who are too poor to buy a cotton saree. Also nowadays I see many so called lower caste families having all sons and daughters as Govt officers whereas Brahmins still have to struggle for mediocre private jobs forget about Govt jobs.
The worst thing for me was when I came to Delhi to prepare for civil services, only thing I read in Indian social history is that Brahmins are the root cause for all the evils of Hindu society. My fellow aspirants, specially so called 'vanchit varg' and coaching teachers would constantly abuse and mock Brahmins/Pandits.
These noida channels aren't aware of changing ground realities of caste discrimination.
